Steam hack/scam warning

Had a random friend send a text asking to vote on some CS2 tournament and you have to sign in. Me being a naive gullible nice guy sign in and get charged for some Dota 2 items and a bunch of my friends were deleted. Some of them were blocked. Luckily I had a good friend who texted me personally since we are in contact outside of Steam. Opened up a ticket to try and get the charges reversed. Normally don't post a petty thread like this but I guess I'm wondering if I'm the only one and if you are on my friend list and I sent a mesage, sorry, that was not me. I expect I'm not the only one who was scammed like this before.

Apparently it's pretty common. The "vote for my team" scam. I never click this shit either but was playing and was being generous.

Did you get your account/stuff back?

I've only encountered this once. Someone asked me to vote on some stuff for a school.

The dude I got this message from (the person that got hacked) knew that I fucking hated kids, he would never ask me to vote on some stupid school shit. Fuck dem kids.

My rule is to never sign in with Steam/Gmail. NEVER.

Put in a ticket. They took 110 for some stupid Dota 2 crap. Some of the friends deleted were long time people that I don't talk to often but still sucks. I don't have the memory or patience to trail them down either.
