I've felt the backlash to Dragon Age Inquisition was overblown.

It does have some issues, namely that it starts far stronger than it ends, and it can fee like the pacing of the story content is off due to the way things are setup. And the party AI is pretty dumb. But I really liked it and it's one of the few non-Souls games to totally dominate my life for a week or two.

Only others since then have been Dragon's Dogma, Overwatch, XCOM 2, FO4 and Witcher 3. The only one of those I'd say left a bit of a sour taste in my mouth is FO4.

For Inquisition I felt it opened strong, really lost me for a bit, and then once things pick up near the middle when the action in the story picks up, I was way in.

Agreed except I don't have XCOM2 yet and I liked FO4. The "non-option fluff" of DA:I was just in the system of needing to have done a threshold number of side quests before being able to proceed with the main quest. The threshold is super low, in my opinion. So if you hate running around finding X number of things, you're not forced into that. Just skip it and do one of the side quests that bring you to more interesting places.

I think this is the year I went full AAA. I'm almost always starry-eyed over so many indie games that my GOTY vote is dominated, but not as much this year.

But I still don't know how I feel about Dishonored 2. Currently, feeling a little on the ehhhh side... and I was a pretty big fan of the first game and DLCs.

I'm playing Dragon Age Inq. and I feel the game isn't doing a good job at letting you know you entered an area with strong lvl. 10+ opponents early on.

I was just trying to buy the new bundle but trying to pay with Paypal and it just says I'm unable to pay with the card I chose (which is linked to my bank account in Paypal). I tried following the instructions on your reddit link but I'm missing all the functionality the guide says to use after selecting account in wallet.

In fact this new Paypal interface is complete garbage. I guess I'm not buying that bundle until they fix whatever is wrong this time.

I had some trouble following the first comment as well, but the second one specifically did the trick for me:

For the others; how to find how to remove the agreement in more detail:
Log in to the PayPal site and go to your Wallet. Then under your Bank Accounts click the debit account that is giving you problems. It will open a big white screen with details.
Click "View" right next to "Direct debit instruction" then click "Delete authorisation".
Confirm by clicking "Delete authorisation" again. Close out by clicking the X in the top right.

The account should now display a label "Needs your approval"

I buy every humble BTA by default but even I couldn't justify spending a little more than 2 bucks on that bundlestar thing.

So yeah, technically the wrong thread, but the other one doesn't seem to be getting many eyes, so:

Dragon Age: Inquisition worth it for $5?

I'll probably hold off at least a few days to see how far The Witcher 3 dips for the rest of the Black Friday sales, but $5 is gonna be hard to argue against regardless, unless DA:I really is an incredible piece of trash.

If you're going to get it, just go for the GOTY edition because the DLCs add so much lore to the game and they are actually good. Also kinda sleazy but the "epilogue" to the game which ties into the plot of Dragon Age 4 is in the DLC.

The game is actually really good but you have to learn not to do all the sidequests all at once because that's how you get burned out and bored. You can just do a minimum to get to the minimum level/influence to unlock the main story quest and then just do those. People who say DA:I is bad is like saying Witcher 3 is bad because they only go after the non-main story stuff.

So, first off: Xanadu Next is INCREDIBLE HOLY SHIT

second, for people who finished it:
i explored the whole island, or so Char says, but do i have to get all the tabulae to continue? I missed some, got the sacred bow and don't know where to go now

Yes it is.

The tabulae are optional. (But the backstory they tell is damn great). To continue you'll need to
explore the ocean
and
shoot the arrow with the bow against a certain object there. (Yes, you can equip it like a weapon)

Sims 3 is supposedly way better.

As a game? I disagree. It has more features (if you have the expansions) but Sims 4 has a lot more actual game to it. The emotion mechanic drives interactions in a cool way and it looks really good too.

In terms of customisation, both pale in comparison to Sims 2... but that has a host of technical problems that makes it kind of unplayable these days.

Yeah i have almost all of them, but i explored the game a LOT and i don't think i have the patience to go back to find the rest :(

btw

yeah i found that out after i posted, i love games that make an ~apparently useless object to be actually a weapon or something really cool, it was a nice "setpiece"

Saints Row IV also got / is getting workshop support, which came out of no where. Indeed:

W O R K S H O P B O Y S

It's not entirely out of nowhere, Volition devs have been hanging out at saintsrowmods site for quite a while now posting about this. But I guess they didn't advertise it in case it all fell through in the end. It's been so slow to progress that I thought that maybe it had.

I think I probably said this when I was following it more closely sometime early 2015 (time flies), but I had hopes that the modding tools would eventually be comprehensive enough that someone with enough time and dedication could mod SR2 into SR4, make a total conversion essentially. Looking at them now, it seems like the tools are limited to guns and customization, at least for the time being.

Still cool.
