I made this post over in the OT because I think its a isp/router/backbone issues but it seems to be affecting steam users also anyone have it?



ISP or Steam Problems?

Nope, looked at your other post as well yesterday. I reckon it's some hard/software firewall which blocks the massive listing like you already said in the other thread.

yeah but ive taken off my router and have no firewalls (at the time)


or do u mean some isp is doing it somewhere?

Can be, although not very likely.


Check with the other guys what parts they have in their PC's, installed programs, ISP's etc. So at least you know where it comes from (or where it doesn't come from)


btw: the modem itself usually has a firewall enabled as well. You could also try forwarding the NAT ports, maybe that helps

and I have the steam ports opened in my router


and some people are saying allow steam into your windows firewall even tho its off (which I also tried, didnt work)

its just one of those I turn off the pc one night and then the next day its not working things thats DRIVING ME CRAZY!~!!!

Modem has an IP-address as well.


If you have a Speedtouch 510(i) it's 10.0.0.138. Look at the manufacturers website

well to be fair its affecting every fps game I have



its weird


WoW BT client works fine, my download speeds are fine, my web surfing is fine, its just any FPS game using the server browser, or All seeing eye, that flood me.

Im gonna have my cousin bring over his PC just to make sure its not my hardware.

Im also gonna swap out my modem but if that doesnt work then fugget Ive got sims 2 and WoW or (anything that isnt online fps), frankley i was getting tired of em in general, and I still can play em online (by using my favorites menu and not the server finder). But meh maybe I can go play the 10 ps2/xbox/gc games ive bought over the fall and left sit there :lol

Problems like these are like 1 in 1000 or something. Just because CS' got an insane amount of players, problems are a bit more common than with other games with 1/10th of the user base

I believe Steam is short for "Steaming Turd".

I got the game to run once in 6 tries. Haven't been able to play it since the one time I played the day I got it.

As I previously stated. Steam = my choice for the worst gaming related idea ever

there is not a single thing Steam does that I find necessary...it's all bullshit IMO
