my god seems to be OK, granted Gal Gun is in top ten, but nowhere near the top, thankfully, otoh Battlerite is at the top... Battlerite who?

Wow... The 2nd last puzzle in the riddle room in the new King's Quest episode can legit get fucked.

That is a horrible piece of design.

Battlerite is doing well because it's not a traditional MOBA, even if it looks like one. There's no lanes to manage, it's all about the combat. It also controls more like an action game (WASD to move rather than clicking), owing more to fighting and top down shooters than to RTSes like DOTA and LoL do.

The focus on combat also means matches are much shorter.

Battlerite is actually kind of fun. I usually hesitate to try games which have "an amazing deal that's only available until the game launches" because that's never a good sign, but this game seemed cheap enough to give it a chance. It's not a MOBA at all. The only resemblance is that you have characters with 4-5 abilities and you fight against opponents in multiplayer. It's a 2v2 or 3v3 team deathmatch game where you choose which hero you want to play and try to defeat the opposing team. Matches only last about 5-8 minutes depending on how many rounds it takes. It seems fairly balanced and their monetization model going forward (since it'll be free to play) is selling crates with random cosmetic loot. I'm not sure if it'll have legs beyond it's honeymoon period but the game seems fun to play.

I started Soma today. Played for an hour and I have almost no idea what's going on. Also the game is terrifying and I'm a chicken and I don't know if I'll be able to finish it.

Sounds like bloodline champions

€: Oi, turns out is from the same developer even. The same one that was also responsible for Dead Island Epidemic

Just finished Ep 4 of King's Quest.

I'm guessing story plans have changed during development as the main menu episode selection shows a much older Graham than ever appears in the episode =/

Pixie. I love you. Dearly.

Thanks for posting this!

Awwww. *blushes* No probs. :)

For anyone else interested, I got my key straight away. Also, I posted the deal in the Civ VI thread, and it appears the actual UK price is a little more than the converted dollar price - anyone know if it's okay to VPN Bundlestars to take-advantage of this deal? I mentioned that they could try using VyprVPN, but since I've not done it, I didn't want to say it was totally okay.

Finished God Eater Resurrection with all the achievements (the collect all other achievements one is apparently bugged, but I guess that's why SAM exists).
I had a ton of fun with the game, but it's also definitely not without its faults.

Gameplay
It's very fast-paced, and missions usually take between 5 and 10 minutes, some are shorter if you're good and others are longer. You can always switch between melee and ranged, can dash-evade and block with all set-ups. Weapon categories are varied enough with how they play and differ in the types of damage they deal - different enemy parts are weaker/stronger against different damage types. It's mostly important for bond-breaking, but not terribly important if you just want to kill things.
I'm slightly dissappointed in how Guns get more and more important the further you get in the game. It gets really easy to refill your Oracle gauge (*cough* The Cornix devour is completely broken *cough*) and skills to reduce bullet costs. Thankfully I've heard that God Eater 2 does that better.
The game isn't really grindy at all. You usually have enough materials by just doing the missions available and there's also the option to craft missing materials.

Difficulty:
It's really easy for the majority of the game. There are only a handful story missions that are actually challenging and it's only at the end where missions are actually more often difficult than not. Apparently it's the easiest game out of all the God Eater games and their versions, because the 'old' content isn't really balanced for the new additions. Predator-styles are fun, but they and control units can easily become completely OP.
It's really only the Resurrection content that gets noticably more difficult and most of the Challenge missions at the end are fantastic. Not only because of how challenging they are, but also because the missions themselves are more interesting. There are missions where you have half a minute to precision-shoot down some weak enemies. There are missions where you have to fight hordes of weaker/medium strong Aragamis while a extremely strong Aragami tries to murder you. There are missions where you have to survive until the time limit is over and try to gather and kill as much as possible, etc.

Monster variety/pacing:
I think the variety is decent and new Aragami are introduced fairly regularly. There's only one stretch where it gets really repetitive and mostly only throws Fallen versions at you, which are essentially color-swapped versions of Aragami that have a different element, look slightly different and have slightly stronger attacks. That part can really drag (I think it's Difficulty 4/5), but it never gets as bad as that again.
What's really neat is how you can see how enemies got more interesting and better designed with each version of the game. Breaking enemy-bonds is essentially only relevant for drops and reducing defense at first, but later on there appear Aragami where there is more to that. The Hannibal has scales on its back that are its weak point - but if you break them it gets a power-up and a new move. The Venus has a lot of bonds you can break to seal off some of its attacks. Breaking the Calligulas 'claws' vastly reduces its attack range, etc... Some really cool stuff.

Story:
Was actually way more entertaining than I thought. It's anime as fuck and can get really cheesy at times, but it's also really engaging at others. The second story arc was great.

NPCs
Something I really liked about the game. Taking them on missions with you earns them AP you can use to unlock more skills - most are passive buffs, stat increases, new bullets ore skills that affect the rewards after a mission. There are also a number of small 'cutscenes' for each NPC that can trigger after a mission that simply have you spend some time with them and give some characterisation.
Speaking of characterisation, the personality of the NPCs also reflect in their behaviour during missions. Like Annette and Frederico just stay and do nothing if you get to far from them, like the rookies they are, or how Alisa is very good at making sure your Burst is always at level 3, or how Kanon likes to shoot you in the back.

Music
Soundtrack is great. I like how most of the songs have a number of different versions depending on the map and which Aragami are in it.

Probably forgot a couple things, but that's already way too many words :p

What do you mean? He costantly changes between different episodes, each episode is a chunk of his life.

Yeah what I mean is, look at the episode select screen. Selecting Episode 4 on that screen shows a Graham that is far older than what actually appears in the episode.

Finished the first story arc yesterday and it really got repetitive during the end. The same bosses over and over again, just with some small reskin or another color.

Is the second story arc better? And what about the third? I heard the third is actually just more monsters, no story.

It is. Still not 60fps though. But they basically integrated Kaldaien mod. So outlines are back, resolution is arbitrary, you have up to 16xAF and MSAA up to 8x.
Kind of lazy imo to just put the mod... But to be fair, I prefer that than nothing. At least for posterity. In 5 years, you wont need to look for Kaldaien TSFix to play it.

Whoa, when did this happen? Last time I played a bit of it I still had to use the mod, but that was months ago. This stuff available in the game's menu now, or do you still have to manually edit this?

Less than 24 hours ago. So that's why :p
And yes, it's in the menu.

It was just patched in to the game so no more need for the mod.

Well, the mod still has more features. But at least, the fact that it's in the base game is a good thing imo.

I found the second story arc a lot more interesting. It has a few new Aragami (the Hannibal is awesome) and the Aragami that only appeared in 1 or 2 missions during the first arc appear more frequently, so I thought it was overall less repetitive than the first arc. It helps that it's also shorter. The third does have a story, but only a few cutscenes (but the ones it has are really cool) and most is told through talking to the NPCs in the base. Found it more interesting than the first arc as well. And the new monsters are really neat.

Alright. Then I will continue to play that. Hope its really not that long anymore.

Anybody plays Sumeru?

looks nice, but there are no reviews in english, not even one

There is a demo, which I have tried. The game is composed of several one-screen puzzles on which you have to build more and more convoluted constructions. For what it is trying to achieve, it looks decent enough, with constructions shaped in S, etc. If this is your kind of thing, you might as well check Polybridge or World of Goo for a graphically more pleasant experience though.

Thanks, I don't like World of Goo all that much, so it would seem I don't need this game also.

Im gonna wait and see what the newer models would offer and the. Get one for me and my brother next year

The newer models ? Well, it's not sure to happen since Intel gave up on the Atom line. This is why GPD switched to the faster atom x7 8700 instead of x5 8500, which was supposed to be in the next model. Because Intel wont make more Atom CPUs. And their next low powered line will be either too power hungry or expensive.

Unless AMD comes up with something.

haha well damn, nice. Might have to play it some this weekend.

Damn, SteamGAF, I can't hold my excitemen for the GPD Win. I wonder if we'll have an OT though.

I'm really hyped to hear some impressions, especially with respect to battery life. I'm not in a position right now where I should be dropping $300 on something I'm unsure of, but lord does it seem like a neat system.

Okay, Humble is awesome. Got a refund confirmation already, that was fast as hell.

At least it would run in the appropriate aspect ratio and would accept my controller inputs :p
Wait are they actually refunding you? Does that mean you get to keep One Piece or do they have a way to revoke the key?

Of course they will revoke a key. Otherwise all people would get games for free turning the site into a scamming party.

I want to get back to King's Quest but I lost my save files during the great ssd crash of 15 and I don't want to replay the first episode. Can probably find a save file with similar choices though.

Heads up JaseC-
Transformers Devastation is a PS Plus freebie this October. You think this means anything regarding the status of the TF license?
