Steam Stats for Nerds: 'I Scraped the Entire Steam Catalog, Here’s the Data'

I know his data is a bit old (mid-October), but I calculated ~52 games released per day in 2024 and his data is showing ~70.
 
Most streamers live off those, short watchable, reaction inducing cheap games.
Yeah, we call those streamer bait.

Shit sucks because it makes many indie devs to think that they'll be more successful making one of those rather than an actual good videogame. And in many cases they aren't wrong.

This is actually incredibly useful data for prospective indies. I already came up with a cross genre game from these stats that should theoretically bring in quite a lot of interest across demographics, based on the amount of games available across these genres.
