Stellaris - Paradox Dev Studios new sci-fi grand strategy game

Paradox stated back when the game was announced, that they had no intention of bringing it to Early Access. They'd much rather get feedback from active community members through invite-only beta (similar to previous Paradox releases).
We usually pick beta testers from users on our own forums.If you are interested in participating in our beta programs, the best thing is to be active there, follow the rules and show dedication.

We're not interested in people who just want to play the game before release. We need people who are willing to do real Beta testing and provide feedback and bug reports.

Well, this is reasonable.

I'd prefer they did the GalCiv model where you had to pay more to get into EA.
 
Has there been any word about UI scaling? This game sounds incredible but Paradox grand strategy games are really hard to see on my monitor.

Totally unrelated side note: I only recently learned what this .gif was from, and it is not what I expected given the lighting and the general look of the shot.
 
Next dev diary is going to be about Fallen Empires apparently, large pre-existing multi system civs that stagnated before you so much as stepped onto the galactic stage.

I'm hoping it'll be easy to mod them in so I can add the Imperium. Maybe with squirrels instead of humans.
 
I wonder about how moddable will be the game. I want to play the Culture! Have stupidly powerful AI ships but be beholden of strict pacifism by my pops! I want to send pairs of hot girl spy + drone as covert agents!

Stellaris Dev Diary #15 - Fallen Empires
Gameplay-wise the Fallen Empires can act as a potential source of advanced technology for players willing to invest the military forces required to defeat one of their fleets in battle. In Stellaris, all ships destroyed in combat will leave debris behind and through reverse engineering a player may discover the technologies required to build the weapons and components equipped by those ships.

Well considering Hearts of Iron IV is on development diary 38.
While Stellaris is on diary 15.

I'm betting Hearts of Iron IV will be out soon.

At this point, I'm guessing that Stellaris will be out late summer.
 
I love Paradox games, especially event-heavy ones like CKII - and Stellaris, it seems.

It's such a perfect blend of roleplaying, strategy and simulation.
