They already chipped. I would take a chip and 73 regular season record over two chips.

We're gonna ignore regular season now? Speak for yourself bruh.
Regular season is nothing. OKC is showing them that their wins mean nothing

Bulls will eat these guys and their one dimensional game

Curry is still better than Jordan right?

It means nothing if you wore yourself out and had nothing left for the playoffs.

I don't watch basketball, but what does "it means nothing" mean in this context? Didn't they break an all time record? Is that somehow no longer the case if they lose in the playoffs?

Everytime someone mentions the 73 wins, they will immediately follow it up with the fact that the team failed to even make the finals. FOREVER.

And ever and ever and ever. 18-1 and whatnot. There's no way to separate them. Regular season accomplishments need the chip as a bookend to keep it all standing upright; Without it the shit collapses on itself and no one cares but THAT franchise.

Lets not compare this overrated team to the likes of Lakers, Bulls, Celtics, Heat, Rockets, or Pistons. I guess they can be like the Spurs, choke artists that win a championship every off year or at random. Good thing Luke is jumping off this ship soon.

Consider that, if they get bounced out in the Playoffs, they will still be second place to Chicago for most wins in a single year. Chicago finished with a final overall record of 87-13 for 95-96. The Warriors currently sit at 78-13.

OKC are better than them in this series, but I think GSW has shown us that they are the most consistent team in the NBA and that's what matters.

So teams shouldn't try and get the best record in the regular season? Okay.

I think they should. It would encourage teams to play well in the regular season and not tank as always.

When teams win the championship, the final game is broadcast around the world, the champagne is flowing, the city throws them a parade, the team owner has made several million dollars from finals ticket sales and the players are paid championship bonuses.

How does that seriously compare to winning regular season games?

IDK, OKC fans were bragging that they do the same thing when they lose ITT lmfao

Why do you think that? OKC has outplayed GS in every game except game 2. The same things GS was going against Houston and Portland won't work against OKC because of their athleticism and length. Their defense on Curry has been really good and Warriors have no answer for Westbrook.

They don't do parades for winning the most games in the regular season.

They don't raise banners for it either.

73-9 without the Larry O'Brien to go with it is the equivalent of a participation trophy.

People should start celebrating the regular season.

I'm not a fan of playoffs because you have to take into account form, matchups, injuries, schedule, etc and that means occasionally the inferior team comes out on top. GSW are still far away the best team in the NBA this season imo.

You know its bad when someone tries to restructure stuff to place the regular season ABOVE the NBA Championship.

I mean, damn. Thats some pain right there.

lol pretty much. I don't think this series is over though. Might just be part of the Curry legend that is currently being written

I'm really not trying to be a dick, but how long have you been watching professional sports?

Yeah the 73 wins will always have an asterisk next to it if they don't win. The Spurs 67 wins are worthless losing in the semis. It's a nice record, but not worth much outside of a note in the history book now.

Considering the scrubs in Houston came back to win last year, I'm not counting them out yet. They really blew this series though giving up that lead in game 1.

lol this is a pretty good meltdown

Dont you guys remember in space jam, mj was dreaming about breaking the regular season record as a kid. It's what every kid dreams about growing up, really.

That's the silliest thing I have ever read. I hope it's sarcasm....

Championships aren't won in the regular season. It's why every sport has playoffs...

That is silly--the regular season also has injuries and schedules are even more of a factor--they don't play all teams equally for instance, so if they are in a weaker division and weaker conference, they get the best scheduling. Playing the Lakers 4 times and only the Raptors 2 times. Playing the Suns 4 times and only playing the Thunder 3 times.

Man go sit down.

This is some the worst sports rationalization for a team I've ever read.

Does anyone honestly think the Warriors will come back down 3 to 1 to OKC? Bwahahhaha they will lose at home. Watch.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if the Thunder win game 5. I also wouldn't be surprised if the Warriors come back and win the series. I honestly have no idea what is going to happen. Can't wait for game 5 and/or game 6 if we get that far. That shit will be fire.
