MJ would have never let this happen.

Kerr also pointed out that there’s a big difference in the way fans and opposing players perceived MJ versus the way they perceive Curry.

“Michael intimidated players just by walking on the court,” he said. “Fans, too. Steph walks on the floor, and people are like, ‘How old is he? 13?’”

When the team fears their leader, they will play better. Curry can start by punching Kerr in practice. </likepoetry>

lol the unbelievable salty ass warriors fans trying to argue with americans about the regular season when American sports respect the playoffs and championships more than any other country.

They would not choose the record over a championship because they don't get rings for having the best record, which is bullshit. NBA either has to shorten the long regular season or abolish the playoffs for me to take it more seriously.

You should shoot some emails to NBA execs letting them know you don't take their league seriously.

Nah. I'm just gonna enjoy the more fair EPL and watch as NBA slowly crawl into irrelevancy.

I disagree, having the best record shouldn't guarantee you anything other than your seed number; which basically gives you the easiest path to said championship. If you were the best in the regular season then prove your worth in the playoffs. People love the "underdog/Cinderella story" the " David and Goliath" matchup or seeing the best of the best battle each other! That's what the playoffs are all about.

The Warriors regressing to the mean is tough for people who just started watching basketball because they heard that Stephen Curry is the best player in history. I can't blame them for lashing out. I mean, he makes 40 foot threes!

As a soccer fan and driveby viewer of the NBA, I find it hilarious that people are wanting the NBA to change it's format completely.

You can't just expect an established leauge to dismantle it's format becuas you're salty about a team losing. I'd say that sports like basketball, hockey and baseball have "fair" playoff games because they're a series not a one off game.

Yeah, seeing how their revenue keeps going up each year.

Obvious the Warriors not winning the finals is a clear signal the NBA is a fraud. It will be a revolution, enlightened citizens across the country will rise up against these oppressors. How dare they deny the Greatest Sports City and Greatest Sports Fans in the world their rightfully earned* championship?

For the record, I'm a San Antonio Spurs fan and I've been watching them for years.

lol

I don't like OKC because of the whole Seattle thing but I hate the Warriors more. Crazy series this has been. Expect GS to win on Thursday though

I want to like OKC but I just can't. The Seattle thing and then the way a not insignificant number of their fans acted when the Pelicans(Hornets) were their after Katrina.

Which sucks because I finally like Westbrook after he has taken that next step in maturing as a facilitator and frankly I like everyone not named Waiters.

not sure if posted but

Today's Fastbreak ‏@TodaysFastbreak
Players since 1984 to get 36 points, 10 rebounds, 11 assists and 4 steals in a playoff game:

1. Russell Westbrook
2. That's it.
look at this scrub

These last few pages have been an amazing read. Now I'm hoping Warriors find a way to win 2 and force a game 7.......... but the other part of me wants to see some NBA team finally win a championship.

Raptors Cleveland or OKC winning would be great for their lifelong fans. Well maybe not OKC since they used to be Sonics but still it will be a Thunder first.

TheAutomator is the same guy that said Steph is breaking basketball and should be banned because he is so good. Apparently not.

Time to get off the warriors bandwagon fella.

LMAO

There's some gold in that SI piece:

After the Warriors had Green’s mom surprise him by interrupting a fake TV interview to tell him he’d made his first All-Star team, Green looked as if he was going to cry.

“I wanted to cry,” he said, “but I didn’t want to be the next Michael Jordan meme on Facebook, so I couldn’t.”

a reporter is talking to Luke Walton, who coached the Dubs to the greatest start in NBA history (24–0) and a 39–4 record until Kerr returned from chronic headaches. The NBA ruled that all the wins are Kerr’s, potentially an oh-snap situation.

“Do you think Kerr trusts you more now that you’ve gotten all this head coaching experience?” she asks.

Just then Kerr walks by.

Walton: Hey, Steve, do you trust me more now that I’ve been a head coach?

Kerr: You?

Walton: Yeah, me.

Kerr: Absolutely not.

They've self destructed the last few games by OKC spooking the team. This is something that is pretty telling. Are they going to be able to recover and pull it through? Basically, make the adaptions and chance up the game plan.

It's also telling of Curry that if he isn't blasting those threes, he can't lead the team.

Warriors getting beat like this is exactly why I haven't completely stopped following the NBA. It's far more entertaining when the unexpected happens. I love watching the Warriors and Curry play and he is an outstanding talent. But I would have no complaints about the Thunder moving into the finals.

as a Spurs fan, i gotta say i'm proud of the way the Thunder are playing. They're going at it just like a championship team would do it, all the players on the floor, not just KD and Westbrook.

People overrate the regular season in the NBA, man. I can't believe anyone thought the Warriors were going to have it easy, especially in that conference.

Oddly seeing the Thunder beat the shit out of the GSW relieves my bitterness at my team (Spurs) being eliminated. Sort of.
A final with Durant + Westbrook versus LBJ would be great as a neutral.

it'll be "18-1" all over again.

they were playing well enough to fool us all.

It's still the regular season, though. Shit is a useless barometer. It's a good baseline, but series are very different than one off games.

Going for that record really put tons of mileage on that team.

Curry sucks at playing defense, so OKC is being very smart by forcing him to guard Sonic the Hedgehog aka Westkbrook. now he's getting tired playing D, and he doesn't have the energy for offense.

This is the biggest bullshit.

It wasn't a useless barometer when the Bulls won 72 games. I don't think you've been alive long enough to understand how hard it is to win 73 GAMES. It's pretty much at the point where people think that a 74 win team might not ever happen.

This is a much bigger beat down than 18-1. I think someone could make an argument the 18-1 pats are among the best teams in history without being completely laughed out of the room. Tight game, miraculous catch, one game elimination--much easier to shrug off. Beat down 4 times, not even in the championship series--a bit harder to justify.

It's not if you've been watching basketball for the last 20 years. The Bulls team was more about Jordan's will than just the record alone. Jordan also had a track record at the time, so he was not getting denied.

I'm not saying the GSW should not have been favorites. That's obvious. But some people thought they would sweep OKC. Come the fuck on.

Heck, they could still win, but to think they were gonna coast in the playoffs? Nah.
