Steph Curry Supernova

I still believe GSW win, but could you imagine a summer where Curry and Draymont lose and have intense motivation? Shieeeet talk about super saiyan blue.

And if they don't? What if it goes 6 or 7? Honestly I think this make Kerr looks worse than anyone really. That being said, everyone underestimated the Thunder and if they win, they should be able to take the championship.

Then it's fine. If they make the adjustments and win, that is what they need. Kerr should be changing it up. He's not. Curry is also failing as the leader of the team. If you are the superstar, you need to being creating those openings and get that momentum going.

This is fallacious. We have direct regular season comparisons and GS won the majority of the head to head match-ups on top of winning more games.

The fact that you said "almost" means you recognize upsets are possible.

It isn't fallacious. The regular season schedule is weighted towards your own division and not the rest of the league. The Warriors therefore play the Lakers and Suns a total of 8 times altogether, while only playing the Thunder, Raptors and Cavs a total of 7 times altogether.

Would anyone really be surprised if the GSW come back and won this series 4-3?

It's crazy that they lost two in a row. Three in a row AND losing at home? I'm just not sure if I see it happening. It's hard not to root for the underdog here (and what a matchup it is when Kevin Durant and Westbrook are the underdogs...) but if there ever was a team that could come back from 3-1, it's this team.

I don't follow the NBA, but the most striking thing about this series is how bad the Warriors are losing. Last two games they've lost by 28 and 24 points? WOW.

Speaking as a sports fan in general, regular season records are interesting and appreciated but who cares if you don't win the championship.

yes dubs would be the team to do so

I can tell who is brainwashed by ESPN's awful sports talk in here.

There is a champion every season, 73 wins has happened never. Which is more impressive?

And no, not a Warriors fan.
The Bulls got their record and did it being rested and healthy enough to win a championship. If the Warriors exhausted themselves getting the record and couldn't even make the finals, I would not say that it means nearly as much.

I sort of disagree, I think most people who watched the 18-1 Patriots have to admit they're one of the best teams in recent history, if not the best. Basketball is different though as you play a full 7 game series against each opponent.

Nobody has ever won a playoff series being down 1-3 right? These fuckers lost on purpose only to set another record didn't they?

Records will be broken one day, a championship is forever.

You ask anyone on that team to trade that record for a championship and see what they say.

and draymond is a sack of assblood, so fuck him

dude...we saw this happen last year with the Clippers and Rockets.....

It's happened 8 or 9 times before. On the positive side they'll be the first team to win 73 games and lose in the conference finals, that's a record, isn't it?

But if you are the best team it does not matter. Bron teams been sweeping teams in the first two rounds for years

They still won more games against the thunder during the regular season. If it wasn't fallacious, people other than Charles Barkley would have picked the thunder. Just because it's a 7 game series, that doesn't mean a team can't get hot and a team can't get cold. The Spurs vs the Grizzlies comes to mind as another example.

I'm watching the game and Curry is just way too nice. They are killing him in the screens and he can't do a thing. I know he's probably injured but he definitely needs to be able to get in the game. He's playing a lot of the game like he's a normal shooter.

Pains me to say it, but I can't imagine GS will pull it off. The three games in the regular season were all extremely close and the main reason GS won was Steph being incredible. For whatever reason he's clearly not that right now, so without that (Draymond sucking also hurts) I think they're donezo.

It isn't fallacious to say that the regular season is not comparable to the playoffs. Your logic is to say that it is more logical to judge two teams based on 3 regular season games rather than 7 playoff games? A team can get hot during the meaningless regular season too and win 3 games against the Thunder, but it is fallacious to argue that the 7 game playoffs is a better judge of the better team?

Downplaying what Golden State did this year is kinda bogus imo. Not only on their end, but also takes away from how great OKC is playing. They're beating the brakes off an amazing team.

The "regular season means more" crowd. Embarrassing.

If this was a single elimination tournament, you'd have an argument. These are best of 7s, you have to win 4 games against teams that know you very, very well by the end of it. Then you move on to the next round where the next team is even better. Flukes don't happen.

A lot of teams have had spectacular regular seasons and have fallen short. Most of them are recognized as great, but it always comes with a "but" and a "what might have been." Indiana Hoosiers, 1975. UNLV 1991. Ask Fjordson about Kentucky's 38-1 in 2015. How many of the 38 would he trade to avoid that lone 1? Etc.

Indiana got it done in 1976. UNLV won it all in 1990. That's what they'll be remembered for. Golden State won it last year, and no one can take it away. 73-9 in 2016? It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that ring.

I have seen The Thunder blow up so many times. If there was one team that could seriously blow this lead, it's the Thunder.

No chance Warriors come back on this one. Curry looks like he's not 100% at all. Draymond is totally shitting the bed. Kerr is getting out coached. Durant and Westbrook are bonafide superstars. OKC is a tough building to win in.

Nope, it's curtains for GS
