I sort of disagree, I think most people who watched the 18-1 Patriots have to admit they're one of the best teams in recent history, if not the best. Basketball is different though as you play a full 7 game series against each opponent.

18-1. They lost the only 1 that counted.

I'm also a Giants fan, but I have no problem saying Brady will go down as one of the best of all time.

The "regular season means more" crowd. Embarrassing.

If this was a single elimination tournament, you'd have an argument. These are best of 7s, you have to win 4 games against teams that know you very, very well by the end of it. Then you move on to the next round where the next team is even better. Flukes don't happen.

A lot of teams have had spectacular regular seasons and have fallen short. Most of them are recognized as great, but it always comes with a "but" and a "what might have been." Indiana Hoosiers, 1975. UNLV 1991. Ask Fjordson about Kentucky's 38-1 in 2015. How many of the 38 would he trade to avoid that lone 1? Etc.

Indiana got it done in 1976. UNLV won it all in 1990. That's what they'll be remembered for. Golden State won it last year, and no one can take it away. 73-9 in 2016? It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that ring.

let the Church say amen.

That said GSW isn't out until the buzzer sounds with them on the short end of the scoreboard. Doubt the resolve of a 73-win team with rings if you want to.

If it's Raps vs Thunder, I might not even watch that shit.

said 80% of the nba viewing audience

Curry is a terrific player but it's nice seeing Westbrook get the recognition he deserves. Guy is an amazing basketball player in his own right.

are you piling on the dude because he's had a couple of bad games?

Choking gets you piled on. He's getting smothered by Steven Adams on the perimeter and missing wide open layups. Idk whoever called him an elite defensive player though, that's fictional.

The series isn't over, but it almost is. No question Westbrook has been the far better point guard in this series.

As a Spurs fan. OKC going beast is making it easier for me to take that loss.

Steph coming back and winning the series would be bananas though.

Steph Curry was crazy good this regular season and while I think some of the talk regarding him, was a bit hyperbolic (only because the sample size of this year is so small), some of the things he did were amazing and fun to watch, even as a non-GSW fan.

That being said, if they don't finish with a chip this year, that all becomes a footnote to a what essentially was a very good season. The greatest regular season ever, sure - however there will always be that asterisk by it (*didn't win championship) that will serve as a painful reminder of what could have been.

As a lifelong Spurs fan, I really thought the Thunder played above their level to beat us in 6, now I'm beginning to see that maybe they haven't hit their peak yet - gonna take some huge games by GSW to overcome that OKC confidence.

I don't hate either of these teams though, so as a basketball fan, I'm interested to see how it all plays out.

are you piling on the dude because he's had a couple of bad games?

Nope. I'm piling on to all the people that were ready to declare him the next coming of Jesus. There's a reason this thread has gotten so many posts the last 24 hours.

When Espn has their own Curry tracker and there's a thread like this there will always be blow back to outrageous statements.

GoldenState is getting beat at their own game. They try and expose matchup problems and their "Death Lineup" has been totally destroyed by the Durant playing PF against it and Westbrook killing them in transition. Curry isn't injured as much as all the GS fans wanna think so. He's just being locked down and bothered by the OKC defence. They aren't getting clean looks at the basket and they have failed to adjust and take the fight to the Thunder.

He's the best player in the league but let's see if he can overcome turning into Peyton Manning in the biggest games in the playoffs.

Her was only in the Finals once so I give him the benefit of the doubt but he wasn't that great in the most important round.

Damn.... this post from the first page. Is Curry a Peyton Manning?

He's missing open shots at a terrible percentage.

Live by the three, die by the three.

So many missed shots. Every time I would turn my head up to watch, I'd see Warriors missing three's.

Curry the greatest offensive weapon ever and an elite defensive player they said.

Lmao

Man, I can never tell if these are joke post or people trying to be serious. People have bad games, people do poorly. Shit happens. Yea, Curry's been playing poorly. It happens. He's not making excuses and he knows it. Hopefully the next game him & his warriors can provide a better challenge to Thunder.
