Steph Curry Supernova

If anything, with the cap going up and some role players being the last year of contracts, they have an opportunity to make some good signings.

No they won't. They are already at the cusp and a lot of the role players took pay cuts to go there. I don't see them really adding to the roster unless they make a trade. They may actually lose players. Harrison Barnes is definitely a goner

Even Curry's defense isn't as bad as people claim (Russ was only 3-10 on him last night) but it seems like the angry mob is out for blood.

I remember when everyone liked Curry a few years ago lol. That shit changes quick yo. Lebron's probably laughing like "how do you like it??".

Amazing.

Steph is a mess.

His shooting is so bad, honestly it's laughable.

Its bad, its really really bad. Think of how it all started. The shooting was great, but things, ya know, they can't always stay good, and this is terrible, its just no good, because its bad.

When you show boat mid shot and taunt you draw criticism.

Well, since you said so then it must be true. Might as well let the Warriors front office know they can take the summer off.

I'm just being realistic. They don't have enough cap room to retain Harrison Barnes and Maurice Speights even if they let everyone else walk. Speights may stay but Barnes is gone and then you got mere pennies to add to that bench.

This is what happens when you go from playing against Blazers, one of the worst defensive back courts in the NBA, to playing the Thunder.

I want Durant to win a ring but I think Lebron will beat him in the finals.

Remember that time when Jordan had a really shitty Finals appearance and his team won the title anyway and a role player won the Finals MVP?

That's what happens when you get pressured all game. It messes with your head and you miss open shots. Honestly he was due for this to happen to him. Nobody has ever played as on fire as he has and OKC has flat out got into his head now.

Yeah, it was quite visible yesterday how he was very nervous and without his classic rhythm. For example: when he missed the second free throw (2nd quarter, I think?), just look at how he shoots the one that followed, it wasn't his usual style of shooting. Or better, it wasn't as confident and fluid as usual. Probably the posterchild of how OKC got him under his skin is the third quarter: I don't remember the exact time, but he started to make baffling assist attempts, which became turnovers for GS and great chances for OKC. It's clear how he was pissed as fuck that he couldn't find his rhythm, that OKC's defense was going hard on him, following quite well his movements...those passes were the representations of him trying to catch his rhtym again quickly, before Oklahoma City could escape again. While the injuries he suffered probably are still playing a role right now, I'd dare to say it's minor compared to whatever is going on in his mind now, thanks to OKCs's defense.

Still, it's ridiculous to call him a fraud. What he did during the Regular Season is among some of the most insane moments of basketball in recent times, crazyness at the highest levels, and it's not just the shooting: think about his handling (which plays a major role in the shots he takes), the movements on the field, the energy that brings to the whole team. His rhythm (again) was almost unstoppable in RS, you can't call him a bad player, a fraud, one who's just been lucky...you aren't just the result of pure luck for months over months over months. The same for Golden State as a whole. 73-9 is a legendary Regular Season. Unfortunately, it's also true that, right now, tomorrow is their last chance to make the Western Conference Finals to go on, and I don't know if this OKC wants to stop the magic right now. No, definitely they don't.

P.S. When did Steven Adams become this reliable at the free throw line, quite shocked by that.

I like watching Steph when he's on but it'll be great to see Lacob and that Silicon Valley "genius" eat crow. Which I'm sure some of you have already mentioned.

It saddens me how eager some people are to tear Curry apart. By all accounts he's a good guy who has mastered a very entertaining and effective style of play. So why all the hate because his team will probably fall short this year? Sports fans are real shit heads sometimes. I'd like to see the Curry haters in this thread try to dribble a basketball without looking down.

As to this series, the likely explanation is a combination of OKC peaking at the right time and Curry still being affected by the torn MCL. Even against the Thunder's superior length and defensive versatility off switches, Curry looks hampered. He doesn't have the same explosiveness on his first step or that hair trigger confidence when shooting contested shots. That's not to take anything away from the Thunder as every team has to deal with injuries and they've found another gear.

Because a bunch of 20/30 year olds got personally offended that he and his team challenged the memory of their childhood hero Michael Jordan and beat their record.

It's just banter, friends. Relax.

Going after people at the top is entertaining for some people. Happens to Lebron, happens to Curry, will happen to the next young phenom in the NBA. Just how it is sadly.

Even guys like Jordan wouldn't be immune from it if they played in the age of social media and 24/7 sports coverage imo. The internet makes it possible for everyone to spew garbage hot takes as soon as they think them up. Basically Skip Bayless all day, every day, without even having to leave the house.

Not a surprise that when an MVP whose style of play is jacking up shots like hes JR Smith starts missing them, the team loses.

If they lose to OKC (it looks like they will), the MVP and the regular season record won't mean shit because theyre chokers.

Blame the whole team not just him. They're all playing like trash, especially Draymond Green.

This is sports. Are you one of those dudes that cried because the Warriors lost at home?

Definitely it's a team effort of losing. Nobody pulling their wait with the exception of Livingston.

Too bad Warriors blew their wad during the regular season and now have to take on a chip on their shoulder Thunder team.

Damn, still just as bitter and snarky as you were in the finals thread last year.

Heavy is the head that wears the crown. The dude has skated right past any amount of criticism for his entire career. He's getting the same shit any MVP would for disappearing in the playoffs. He's not a cute little underdog anymore.

Kobe and Lebron are good guys off the court also regardless of what the media tries to say and they get shit on by fans too especially Kobe. I don't want to hear anything about Curry being some special case. He's not. This is sports everyone gets hate whether they deserve it or not. I'm sure you two didn't do this melodrama everytime you saw a hate post for those two.

Livingston is playing just as bad as everyone else. You must be thinking about someone else.

This is a good joke post.

Look part of this sports thing is you make fun of the dudes who are at the top of the mountain, that fuck up. They are still great players in their own right but making jokes about them messing up is part of the charm.

all and all warriors last year weren't tested against healthy teams, this was eventually going to happen with or without the supernova being on his game
