Even someone with a low reputation and image like Stern can't get away with it. This whole scene is on the same level as Rush Limbaugh calling that college girl a whore/slut because of birth control. I would guess that being on the same level as Rush is enough to send even a douchbag into damage control.

Ironically enough, I am leeching off of my parents HBO account to watch HBO on my xbox and iPad. So I guess I'm right in their target audience. I guess I bought the 360 and iPad with my own money though.

Isn't it ageist to say Stern needs to keep his mouth shut about another adult because he's "too old" to have an opinion? And if you read the actual timeline of events, he wasn't being a bully and he didn't apologize or do damage control in response to anything. He wasn't on the verge of getting into any trouble with anyone; especially since most of the fake outrage has been coming from fans of the show who have no power to affect his career.

It's so funny how the media twists his words and writes articles totally ignoring the chronology of what he said. He is right she is a fat girl who is writing herself into a lot of sex scenes. He then went on to say that he didn't like the show and he had only watched 2 episodes so far. The next day (keep in mind this is still last week prior to the golden globes and all the negative articles bashing him this week), he was on with a tv journalist for ny post linda staci, and they started talking about girls again, and stern was saying that he actually loves the show now after sticking with it and respects her talent, that a heavy girl like her wouldn't even be given the screen time she was getting if she wasn't writing it herself, which is 100% true. Then of course Girls goes on to win at the GG on Sunday and the articles saying he called her fat comes out. He get pissed and on monday show goes on a rant about how the media twisted his words and ignored all the positive he said about her, which they did. And come Tuesday the media takes his words from Monday and twists them into "he apologized because she won a golden globe"...it's pretty damn laughable.

the very next day after he made the comments when NO ONE had even reported about it yet, and still prior to the Golden Globes he was saying he changed his opinion and was loving the show. He compared her to Woody Allen with her writing and directing, but of course the media left that out. It's funny even though the chronology of events has been clarified many times articles continued to come out after Lena made an appearance on Wednesday saying the same shit they reported on Monday, even though the original comments and the reversal of opinion came on Tuesday and Wednesday last week.

like he explained he's on the radio practically commercial free (5 hour satellite show with only 6 minutes total divided into 3 breaks), so he often talks out his stream of conscienceness. he doesn't have the ability to write, edit, and publish his thoughts like a writer. he has made a whole career about it, he thinks out loud and that's what makes his show compelling. it's funny i'm so passionately defending him, because being a super fan, and being disappointed in the state of the show the past few years, i'm usually criticizing his show in the official stern thread but i'm totally with him on this one.
