This isn't illegal, it's just getting pointed out due tothis:

Many in this thread seem confused why this is brought up;.

Yes but it is buying into his conflation of these issues w/ voter fraud which legitimizes his claims

That depends on how you react to it; the article outright states that they are pointing this out because Trump made incorrect claims.

a practice that the US president wrongly claimed amounted to electoral fraud on Wednesday as he called for an inquiry.

The proper reaction is to say "Trump, you idiot, tons of people are registered in more than one place and that does not equate to voter fraud."

First tragedy, then farce.
He's not a minority, so it doesn't count!

Also, being registered in two different states is not an actual problem. It is voting in two different states. I was automatically registered when I moved from NYC from Austin to vote. I have no idea how to unregister to vote in either Texas or New York. I voted in the 2012 presidential race in Texas. Voted in local NYC elections. Moved back to Texas, updated my Texas voter registration and then voted here in 2016. I never recorded two votes, but am likely part of the "problem"

Add his Treasury pick, Steve Mnuchin, to the list too.

"I will be asking for a major investigation into VOTER FRAUD, including those registered to vote in two states, those who are illegal and even, those registered to vote who are dead (and many for a long time). Depending on results, we will strengthen up voting procedure," the president wrote in a pair of consecutive tweets."

So far that's his Chief Advisor, Steve Bannon and pending Department of the Treasury head, Steve Mnuchin.

He created his own personal Catch-22 based purely on his shame-wracked ego for not winning the popular vote.

Any chance Bannon gets in legal trouble for this?

No, because he didn't do anything wrong. The point is that this false bullshit that Trump is spouting about fraud is absurd to the point that one of his closest advisors is "guilty" of it.

It's not illegal unless he also voted in two states, which I doubt.

The problem is Trump claimed there was massive voter fraud to explain how he lost the popular vote, which was false. But now he has to do an investigation because you can't claim there's voter fraud publicly and then do nothing because it gives away that you're just making excuses.

So now he's walking it back and equating all registration fraud with voter fraud, which is not what he claimed at all. Registration problems can just be people who moved and were registered in two states, people who died but weren't cleared from the register, etc.

These are just clerical errors from an inefficient and poor system. The illegal part would come if these registered names were voting, but they are not. So he's full of shit and he's trying to walk it back by acting like he meant registration fraud all along, which is not the same thing as voter fraud at all.

Trumps daughter Tiffany was also registered in Pennsylvania and New York at the same time.

Remember. If Trump accused the Democrats of something, he himself is very likely guilty. He likes to project his errors.

Here we are - The President labeling his Chief Adviser, his Treasury pick and his own Daughter as Voter Frauds.

All in a sad, pathetic effort to soothe his ego against his popular vote loss, which doesn't even amount to anything.

SAD!

Just like the Drug War.

I'm sure you meant to say the Opioid Epidemic instead of the War on Drugs.

I love GAF sometimes.

He was right in what he said, referring to the lopsided conviction rates in minorities compared to white people and harsher sentences.

It's a joke about whitewashing. The War on Drugs is an attack on not just dealers, but also users. Opioid Epidemic is a way for those at the top to distinguish dirty minorities shooting heroin from poor rich socialites and overworked CEOs who are popping oxycontin and vicodin.

It's astonishing the lack of accountability there is for the President of the United States. He can apparently say anything including foundless claims about unprecedented voter fraud because he can't accept that he lost the popular vote. And he's apparently now going to officially push to spend god knows how much money to investigate because the press has been calling him out on his bullshit. This is day 5. We can only hope he is distracted enough with petty inconsequential bullshit at home so he's not making threats to world leaders that said a mean thing.

Thought Emoji Movie was good. Take that as you will.
Almost all the dead people and double registered people are recording errors... the dead don't vote and the double registered vote in the place they live now....

...and more than likely half those people who aren't dead didn't vote at all like most Americans.

Never mind me then.
