Stillwater Trailer - Matt Damon, July 30th

Men_in_Boxes

Snake Oil Salesman

So apparently this film received a standing ovation at the Caines Film Festival. Matt Damon is going on tour saying he spent time with conservative oil rig workers and he was amazed at how they were such good people. Rotten Tomatoes currently has it at a 79 critic score.

Um...something smells fishy here don't ya think?

(Btw, this is apparently a Taken, John Wick, Equalizer, Wrath of Man, Nobody etc...clone)

Edit: Oh WTF! Posted in the wrong Discussion again. Sorry...again.

Looks interesting.

Not a big fan of actors doing voices tho like matt damon, rather have them play themselves.

So this is the movie based on Saint's Row? Never figured him for the boss, but I guess we'll see how it goes. Personally would have went with Nicolas Cage, but hey.

I can´t take him seriously at all as an actor. I liked him in the Bourne Trilogy, but as soon i saw him in Interstellar (wasn't aware of him being in it), i burst out laughing like "Are you for real?".

He will always be remembered as the whiny bitch from the WW2 movie or from True Grit (2010, terrific movie) wearing that fake moustache ...

Looks really good; will watch. Seems like they're going for a realistic take on Marseille which is sadly somewhat of a foreign enclave within France these days with many "no-go" zones. A shame because it's such a great city with a very rich history dating back to the Romans but even before foreigner numbers grew, the city has always had a shady side, being the French capital of organized crime. Looks like they even feature the OM soccer team and the Velodrome stadium which are huge parts of the soul of Marseille and to this day OM is the only French team to have won the UEFA Champions League, much to the dismay of PSG's Qatari owners who have been trying to buy that trophy for more than a decade now.

Did we watch the same trailer, my dude?
Yeah not sure why he said that. The one scene where he fights, it looks like he gets his ass kicked, so I don't think it's going to be a movie where he resolves everything by killing everybody.

Yup, sad what has become of Marseille. Paris has problems as well but being the seat of the government you can at least count on someone high up not wanting to let shit hit the fan (as long as it is not Stalingrad, that neighborhood is a disgrace), not so for Marseille. Getting out of the main train station is seriously an experience.

Wtf are you talking about? What was wrong with his character in Interstellar?

I don't like them doing voices. Specially when in majority of movies they stare in they are not doing it. It kinda breaks the character.
To be fair his accent seems decent enough here. But i know what you mean; did you ever watch The Ranch? Ashton Kutcher tries to do a country/southern accent and it's all over the place, sometimes really strong, other times not so much and sometimes gone entirely; it was weird.

I'll watch this just because I love France as a setting. It doesn't look like a Taken-style movie, though. It doesn't seem like his character can actually fight, guess we'll see when it releases.
