No, you're right, I do know the drill. It's why I haven't bought Injustice 2 or MvCI yet because the same thing will likely happen with both of them.

Just wish they'd put out all the existing DLC that I've already paid for before telling me that new players will be getting it at a heavy discount.
 
Will this version be updated with the new Unreal Engine 4 optimisation update?

Lots of good optimisation stuff there they could use the extra resources towards the game and improve some aspects

Well, for the potential that the package is a little more robust. If it's JUST the characters included compared to vanilla SF5 + Free Update, then there's no problem. But Capcom isn't being super specific on if there's anything else bundled in. And I have a feeling there's on board content that would sneak its way onto the disc. That's all I'm saying.

I mean, I want it, but I also want the low baller option.
 
Good total package, but Arcade Mode is the least exciting addition of it all. The same basic, cookie-cutter single player mode that's been regurgitated for decades when Capcpom could be doing so much more on that front, like what they had for Alpha. Viewtiful Joe costume better be available too and not just locked behind Extra Events.

They are right not to. Too many armchair litigators salivating at the chance to act snarky with old marketing quotes for Capcom to bother weathering such idiocy.

That said, I agree with you. We still live during a phase of this industry where bundled re-packaged editions still co-exist and release annually across other franchises. 'Platform' gaming is still in its infancy and being tested and prodded. SFV was an experiment that did not work as planned due to various factors and as such shouldn't be chastised for reacting appropriately and even choosing to revert to a more generally acceptable model.

I mean they are doing it with 'Arcade', but the 'Super' moniker would serve nothing more than to feed the critics, potentially altering the conversation into that of SFV's 'failures' more literally instead of drumming up rebirth excitement for new potential fans.

It has to, the question is how soon, those sweet UE4 new optimizations are a must for any fighting game.

It's not something as simple as just an update. You have to go through the entire quality assurance process and fix everything the new update breaks considering the engine is the foundation of the game. It's a monumental task and if they allocated a budget to implement its improvements, it'll take a lot of time & resources.

So if the game plus both season passes is now only $39.99, does this mean the Season 1 and Season 2 passes will drop to less than $19.99 each? (something like $9.99 would be nice ;-)
 
Looks to be a pretty amazing update with loads of content, I can only imagine how much money Capcom would have made had SFV released like this.
 
They redid the hud. That's awesome news. One of my biggest complaints was how the hud blends into the background too much, making it difficult to see ex bars at a glance

Not sure, though I’d assume that the first 2 seasons will be on the AE disc from the start.

I'm guessing S1 will drop to $9.99 and S2 will drop to $19.99. Since the base game will probably be easily available for around $10-15 during the holidays.
 
I see that we are getting Street Fighter IV sections for Arcade Mode so I guess we are going to get more Street Fighter IV character(s) for Arcade Edition.

The passes go on sale regularly.. but a permanent 9.99? Price point? Lol of course not.

S3 characters are coming.

AE is basically a Goty package.

damn jaw im not even going to go there but if regina were announced as a dlc character right then and there you would be on it lol!!! but yeah presentation should be the next thing they focus on after the first dlc characters in marvel.
