Got my beta key and managed to get some fights in with everybody. Game seems to be great but movement feels rather sticky. Atleast there seems to be lag when pressing up on the dpad and jump happening. Not sure if it is the game or not. Playing on a pad also feels super awkward. Don't even remember the last time I played fighting game with a pad.

Do you mean 2 x HCB + P?

Try doing 3 x HCB + P, that helps in some fighting games.

Nope, QCB. Mika's CA is 2 x QCB. It seems to be more exacting than I'd expect, but I'm getting used to it. Less lenient than the same motion in an ASW game. Definitely can't implement it in a combo, in a fight, just yet.
 
I don't know why, but I feel there are less options as compared to SFIV.

Feels like previous games before IV which is good thing, matches feel honest like if I was outplayed it wasn't because of some BS but straight footsie battles. IV has all of this of course but idk feels like a throwback playing this feels like 3s/A2 imo.

Anyone else kinda feeling like Necalli's command grab sucks?

Maybe you can cancel some normals into it and it comes out on the first frame out of hitstun/blockstun or something, because that shit loses to everything and is kinda slow. At least from what i've seen in streams.

Someone's managed to make it into the PC beta early. And as much as I don't want to propagate the whole "PC master race" shtick the website has, here's a link with pictures and a video. The stages look like they're at the proper framerate, which is nice.
 
So can you hit mika out of her critical art? Seems like everyone online does wake up critical art, and not sure how to handle mika's.

Also very nice getting matches every 2 minutes or less.

I just had a glitch where the screen turned completely black when round 2 started. Only thing that showed up was text telling me the replay was saved.

Hmm, biggest gripe so far is the net code.

It works better than SF IV but in the end, instead of playing underwater with delay there is just a ton of microstutter that is visually distracting to the point where my brain kinda can't follow whats going on anymore because it looks so strange oO.

That's how sfxt was in the beginning but they made some adjustments and the rollbacks became a lot fewer after some patches, hopefully they will improve it this time as well

Tried playing the other night. Ended up in training for like 25 minutes and gave up. Why can I only choose from 2 characters?

Also the leaderboards only had vega and the boob girl.

I wish I could do Ken's ex air tatsu off a back jump. Silly that I can do it off a neutral and forward jump but not back.

They did that because EX air Tatsu is basically a divekick, and it's the same balance reasons why pretty much every divekick in SFIV could only be done off neutral or or forward jump.

I think I ran into some gaffers online today. GGs if I did. I feel bad for the last mika I fought though. Ken with trigger and dps is so silly.
 
Played three straight matches and got worked. The matches were very smooth thought which is a good sign.

I've been getting bodied pretty hard in the matches i lost. Went like 4-6 or 4-7 lol. First time I'm ever using a grappler so Mika has been hard to wrap my head around in a fight, though the combos are easy enough.

I'm done for the day. Glad I at least got a couple hours or solid match after match play. My R. Mika game is already strong but when I have to play a mirror match against her I'm fucked at the moment. I think I only won 1 mirror match out of the 4 I played. I hate mirror matches.

Personally I feel like R. Mika is a hybrid of rush down, grappler and 50/50 mixups.

Treat the opponent like a training mode dummy. Vary mixups. Her body splash and jumping lk cross up, not bad after knockdown. EX punch grab has sneaky range. Use the mic when you have distance. Wap their jumps.

Alright after a few matches I have to thank you for these tips. That body splash, I'm sure it's just because people aren't used to her, but they get hit by it every time it feels like I've used it. Really digging Mika now, she was originally just a character I was mildly interested and now she's my favorite of the (thus far released) characters.

You can add quite a bit to that combo if you want.

do s.mp, s.hp instead of f.hp. Then do s.hp after the assist call, then do wingless airplane after the assist hits.

j.hp >> s.mp >> s.hp >> f+vtrigger >> s.hp >> wingless airplane
