Been going through the story mode and I have to say... has Vega basically turned into this series' Hazama now?

does playing the single player content raises our online player, not character, lvl? Cause I'm lvl 191 but only fought twice online so far.

I'm a terrible, terrible SFV player. I've been away from the series since SFII and I have no idea what I am doing now ^_^
Well, I've played SFIV for a few hours, and at least SFV feels a bit slower, which is a big plus in my book. I guess I'll be able to play it fine eventually.
Right now, what I really need is to watch some good players. I was totally lost when I bought Super Smash Bros, but then EVO 2015 came and I learned a lot watching the pros. I can't wait for EVO 2016, I'll focus on Street Fighter V this time.

Only Ryu so far. Need to learn the game at it's most basic before I jump in on other characters. And because the Street Fighter for beginners book-thingy and the Youtube tutorials told me to, basically.

Was up to like 7 story modes completed and the game crashed on ps4, load it up again and my save is corrupted and its forcing me to delete it. good times.

I'll main Ryu, since he was my favorite in SF2 and I already know the basics, but I'm also interested in Vega (seems like they changed him a lot in SFV and he's really fun to play now).
Jesus Christ. Different reports of the game crashing while in story mode here and there, I wonder if it's a recurring problem and if Ono and friends are aware of it :/

I'm not the guy you quoted but I don't frequent the scene enough to be aware of the best streamers. Any chance you could point me in the direction of good Ken, Chun Li and Rashid players on twitch?
Most of them can be countered with grabs. They're really meant for interrupting blockstrings and are definitely something players can bait and mash throw on reaction to the flash.
I see. it was my first time ever using it in a match... I thought it was somewhat invincible.

Yeah i'm not sure, it turned out to not be the end of the world. It saved my profile and fight money but all my story mode progress reverted to 0% so I guess I just have to reclear it.

Been looking at the tutorials online and noticed that all the buttons like lp or lk mp, mk and so forth have the same or similar animations as the older games. Someone told me all the animations would look different. I guess this is not true?

You can get grabbed, DP'd or jabbed out of it if your not careful
Battle lounge is a buggy mess : ( game crashed three times already. Also the servers are not helping at all, the one game I had was a laggy fest, I wonder why they did the beta program.

They all have some form of strike invincibility I think. If your V-Reversal is an attack and they actually block it I don't think any of them are punishable.
On characters like Ryu, Ken & Chun Li, most of their normals have the same basic look. The biggest difference is the the animations for some moves will differ depending on if the connect or not. Probably most noticable with Ryu's normals where there is a clearer visual cue that the move has connected for hit confirms, or missed for a whiff punish.
Which is why I'm always amazed that they add him into every damn game. (Except SF3)

Same thing happened in SF4. Give it some time. You'll see some killers with him soon. I'm betting sooner rather than latter since this Sim seems a lot better than before.

Too bad, I like Dhalsim V-Skill and Trigger a lot but that's clearly not my type of character.

I like him but never ever have been able to play him well.
Even in my first SF (II on the SNES) he was my worst character and it really hasn't changed much.

Aka save replays, look at what your opponent did to beat you, make adjustments .
Karin: I'm not sure if there are any top players playing Karin exclusively on stream but I've seen Floe and Juicebox dabble Karin occasionally. I do believe Mago is maining Karin so you can catch him from time to time at TopangaTV (it's live now)
Ryu: Rip and maybe Alex Valle when he's doing a house stream and when he's bored of Rashid
Vega: Floe seems to be focusing on Vega lately
Ken: Juicebox was last seen practising Ken during the Beta test

I am so glad I went with the PC version over PS4. I hope they fix the network/framerate issues ASAP. It shouldn't be too hard once they are on top of the network issues.
