How do you preform critical art with Ryu ?

I'm having a hard time pulling it off, does anyone have tips ?

Can you press any of the punch buttons or does it need to be a specific one ?

Karin: I'm not sure if there are any top players playing Karin exclusively on stream but I've seen Floe and Juicebox dabble Karin occasionally. I do believe Mago is maining Karin so you can catch him from time to time at TopangaTV (it's live now)

Ryu: Rip and maybe Alex Valle when he's doing a house stream and when he's bored of Rashid

Vega: Floe seems to be focusing on Vega lately

Ken: Juicebox was last seen practising Ken during the Beta test

Chun Li: Justin Wong

Rashid: Aris and Valle when he's doing house stream

Wow, you're awesome! Thanks for this!

Thanks, that's very helpful.

I remember seeing a good Ken player on a couple of YT videos, he is also featured in one of the SRK front page articles at the moment. It might actually be a nice idea to compile a big list of streamers and yt channels that people can follow for particular characters since even these few you linked here seem to be helpful to people.

I've been a little lazy searching for myself, but I can help compile a big list if you didn't want to. If that would be something people might find helpful. Seems as though there are a lot of players around who are looking for mentors, so to speak.

I am so glad I went with the PC version over PS4. I hope they fix the network/framerate issues ASAP. It shouldn't be too hard once they are on top of the network issues.

All my friends bought it on PS4, I feel like I dodged a bullet.

What's wrong with the ps4 version? I want to know as I'm very close to buying the ps4 version.

So I finally got into an online match, is there really no way to pick your fighter and stage? You can only go by what you have in your battle settings?

If you can do a fb motion, just do it twice + punch.

Which punch affects the speed of it as well. So you can't always use the light version for example to punish people, and sometimes you can't always use the hard one as it might whiff, etc etc

I don't understand

I checked how to win the fp

I have 14 character level 8 with story finished so it's 140 000fp
Ryu level 17 with story finished so it's 19 000
Ken level 12 with story finished so it's 14 000

Finished survival with ryu easy normal so it's 12 000
Ken on easy 6000

Should have 191 000fp where I have 182 000 :(

2-1 now, time to retire with a positive score :p

matches are slowly trickling in at least. Going with Gief for now, was always one of my faves and he seems like a beast in 5. Was trying out Birdie in training, I think im going back to grapplers mostly like I was in 2 (compared to 4 where I rarely played grapplers)

I'm yet to even pull it. What is the secret?

You have to input the shoulder charge pretty fast but not too fast or you might get the just frame instead. Seems pretty strict until you get used to it.

I must say that it's super satisfying when you pull it off though lol. Especially when you cancel it into a super.

Apart from the current server issues, nothing.

Ok cool.I'm trying to buy the dulex addition on PSN store but its failing to go through. May e store update is happening.

Very much looking forward to seeing if I can get into this one. It looks more simplified in terms combos which is great as I didn't like all that extra stuff in 4.

Okay never playing on under 4 bar again. Just played against a Chun-Li and she was literally teleporting constantly, but it didn't seem to phase her. Constantly pulling off combos and it was like she had Bison's V-Trigger constantly on. 7 fight win streak too. Bit weird.

Finally got to play the game without the server disconnecting every two minutes. Managed to do everyone's story mode (skipped all cutscenes since I can come back to that whenever), did some easy (and Karin's normal) survival modes and went all in on ranked. It started badly with a horrible rollback infested Karin and it ended with a super good Ken that played like a Guile player which was infuriating. I feel bad for the 11 win Birdie that destroyed me and got no win because the server randomly decided to not upload the match data. Otherwise it was an okay experience with my five win streak and reaching 500 LP. The competition seems stronger than the beta for whatever reason (reached ~1700LP there) and manually searching seems like the only way to find ranked matches right now. Didn't get a single match the whole night while sitting in training mode or the main menu despite setting it up to search.

Fuck Ken btw

It needs to be this way. Load times, character select and stage select would make the online unbearably slow.

Finally able to get some casual matches in. Does anyone have any good tips for chun-li? Haven't played a street fighter game proper in years and looking to take this one a bit more seriously

When I go to search for a rival, what is the difference between searching for Fighter ID and Online ID? Is it just CFN name and PSN name?

I tried searching for Neoxon but it didn't find any player. Which is strange.

Just won my first ranked match. Connection was super good. Better than any of the matches I did yesterday

Congratulation on the first ranked win Scotia!

Tenko into Orochi for Karin is such a weirdly hard combo. Practiced it a lot and I still only get it like 70% of the time.

I don't know the moves names correctly yet - is this the forward shoulder dash followed by and upper punch? I can do it occasionally in training, but not to any benefit yet.

Fighter ID is the username you picked from the start, online ID is Psn.

I too can't find anyone.

dash uppercut into dash shoulder (hold down version)

It's the highest dmg combo with tenko and no meter from what I can tell. Does good corner carry as well.

Played for a couple hours this morning (basically starting at 0bp) and played 29 matches, lost 4 of them. 2 players disconnected when they lost. Only one match had bad enough lag that I thought impacted my ability to play the game in a demonstrable way.

Just end with lk mujinkyaku or vskill. You get a much better set up from lk mujin, and v gauge from the v skill, for only slightly less damage and much easier execution.

I've played around 10 online matches and succeeded at getting demolished every match. Two things that I picked up on were that I suck at executing moves in an actual match and I really need to work on my defense.

What's the best way to about getting better at that stuff?

I do all those as well. The shoulder charge is just fun to do lol and the corner carry can be really helpful.

yeah, checking the move set last night in training I noticed there was a down version. Tried it and couldn't see a difference, but I must be doing it wrong. Need to check out a video to point out the obvious to myself.

What character are you playing?

this Karin had no idea how to handle with Gief's V-Trigger. Do you need to block low or sometthing? She always got hit

Lose. Specifically, lose in a way where you're focusing on doing one thing better.

Suck at AA? Play 10 matches and focus ONLY on AAing. Simply performing it in a live match is the key. The more you do it, the easier it will become second nature and the less mental energy it will take to do it on reaction. You'll probably lose now, but that's ok because you're not trying to win, you're just trying to improve on one thing.

If you get destroyed by specific things, go into training mode and set the dummy to do those things. Learn how to beat it. On doing moves in actual matches: just play more, maybe try to do it against the CPU, there's no shortcut.
