If Capcom ban me for using one round survival mod I guess I'll just shrug and not play their game then.

If they don't want to fix the things that matter and instead make a small user base even smaller, then go ahead.

If they actually go so far as to ban people, I'll be surprised and insanely pissed. That'll completely destroy the PC user base since I'm pretty sure most of us used the survival mode mod.

And here we go !

EDIT : I'm late to the party obviously :(

Review? Sounds like, if anyone does get banned, it'd be those that used the 1 round mod. The time completed for survival would be a dead giveaway.

Also, yeah, this would only hurt the PC community. I wonder if they'll reconsider or quietly do nothing if it turns out that they'd burn too many potential customers.

edit: I forgot about the PSN/CFN exploit. I'd sooner think that tweet is about them than PC players.

Would you guys say Laura has better overall footsies than Rashid? I'm heavily considering maining her over him. She has the safe pressure I like but also much more potential with resets and throw setups. Oh, and apparently her AA options are also better.

So Capcom's actually advertising EVO within Street Fighter V.

I think and hope Capcom will just take back the FM instead of going on a permanent banning spree, expecially because the one round mod is out in the wild for literally MONTHS, so it's not like 1 or 2 users used it. I mean, they should have acted way faster in order to prevent the widespreed use of it, instead they are looking at it now.
What, they will ban 70% of PC players?
Also banning people would mean giving up on future money for skins, characters and so on. a FM+color reset with a 15 days ban would do the trick, since people will keep playing and maybe buying the season pass or some kind of content anyway, but a ban will lead to nothing except hurting the community even more.

Yeah, it's more likely they'll only reverse all shop purchases and FM earned on the account. Bans might be reserved for repeat offenders? Besides, people can get survival FM easily and still cheat using the health/meter trainer. I doubt Capcom has anyway of detecting that in place.

Seems like this was a bad night to buy SFV for PC off some cdkey site.

That's what I assumed too. I don't see them doing anything to the PC community, but the people that got the free premium costumes through the exploit? I'd be surprised if Capcom/Sony didn't ban them.

I think they should probably worry about rage quitters before anything else but the exploits are messing with their money, so that naturally takes priority over their fan base.

The way I see it is that Capcom should have accounted for players potentially getting the max amount of FM anyways, so they shouldn't be that mad about it.

If there are exploits to get premium costumes then fair enough, ban those guys.

Months later and I'm still unable to do Alex's trial 7.

It's the Jump > d.HP > s.MP > s.LP > qcf.LP > CA

Any tips other than just "go faster"? I feel like the motion and time to complete it in for s.LP > qcf.LP > qcf.LP is just ridiculous, especially since you have to confirm off the initial s.LP hit.

I agree. This makes a lot of sense.

A ban for the 1 round mod seems excessive and possibly counterproductive if Capcom's goal is to sell things to their player base. Resetting all unlocks/progress and wiping FM would be punishment enough.

As long as they don't accidentally take away what I own through the season pass (which I've purchased twice, on both platforms) then fine.

People, there is an exploit on ps4 that allows you to unlock whatever you want, even premium costumes, I severely doubt this is about pc's survival mod.
There isn't even a way to track that because, afaik, completion times aren't reported to the server, those are all stored locally.

This is true. I mainly game on my desktop but when I boot up SFV on my laptop my survival progress is blank, as if I never touched it.

But no, I don't get more FM for completing it a second time, unfortunately.

Ah hah I assumed they had a leaderboard tracking that stuff. Yeah, now that I know this, I doubt that tweet has anything at all to do with PC players.

Well, in theory, the message log notes timestamped messages for awarding fm, character level ups, etc. So that stuff might be tracked even if your survival time isn't.

Yep, if they wanted to bust people on PC they had ample chance before this. The PS4 exploit is far worse.

I physically cannot react to overheads in this game. I can feel myself pressing up in time to block, but it's not fast enough for the game to register.

Seriously salty right now. I've gotten worse at the game, and I'm losing consistently to gimmicks.

Been playing a lot of ranked lately since the patch that matches you up much better against guys your rank. Not sure about the lower and upper tiers, but from Gold to Ultra Gold their are so many players who play DP characters that don't tech. When I realize that they don't tech, I start throwing them. They still won't tech though, what they will do is wake up DP to scare you into not pressuring them on wake up.

To be honest I am one of these guys. I've been playing like this since the beginning though. I guess I'm just a little surprised that it has become so prevalent. I guess it's a good thing that their aren't too many characters with meterless reversals lol.

That's one of the great things about playing a character with no meterless reversal (or no reversal at all) is that you're kinda forced to learn how to play defensively and how to throw tech.

I did a sanity check for S&Gs and found that if you start a new save file, it remembers your LP/username/FM totals, but none of the server messages and none of your progress.

I still think it's possible they have logs for how your account was awarded unlocks/purchases/FM/etc. on the server side, but the people who have pointed out that this is likely the PS4 exploit are probably right.

That PC survival exploit has been going on for months now and Capcom said jack shit.

I really think it's that PS4 exploit that they're targeting as that's literally gaining access to content that's only available for paying customers.
