Yeah, I think Village has a point there
Unrelated but I was thinking about V-reversals and wondering what it would be like to have more v-reversals.
Like, you spend more meter, 2 , or 3 bars, to get a better v-reversal. Maybe your two bar version would be throw invincible.
That might cause some inequaility with characters with three bars though, but they already have to spend more time building it anyways.
V-reversals should be good, period
they already cost you activating the best or second best move in your arsenal. also the guy with the best, permanent v-trigger loses v-reversals, and the game is lacking on defensive options
on paper, this is great design!
but the V-Reversals have to be useful
What does Urien say when he activates v-trigger? Sounds like straight gibberish.
He says aegis reflector...What does Urien say when he activates v-trigger? Sounds like straight gibberish.

Wait, wrong character.
Doesn't he just say "Aegis Reflector"?
He says aegis reflector...
Okay, you're right. I hear it now. He's just draggin out the aeeeegis part. And I never hear the 'reflector,' because shenanigans usually follow.
Alex and Urien's English VA in V really deserve a lot of praise for trying to capture their SF3 voices. I love hearing them talk in fights.
Alex's "back it up" when he V-Reversals is probably my favorite voice clip in the game.Alex and Urien's English VA in V really deserve a lot of praise for trying to capture their SF3 voices. I love hearing them talk in fights.

I've been a huge fan with Urien's VA in this one. After the travesty of SF4's Dudley voice, I feared the worst. But this guy nailed it, not identical, but he nailed the tone.
WAT
He was dope
ThiccMan, what is going on with Cammy and Chun's legs there.

Bro, don't you have any dignity? Such a gutter trash opinion.
I'm hoping whoever the next character is that theyre A - not blonde, and B - not some convoluted new school design of having 50 mediocre options. I wan't an adon'esque solid character.
Other than the fact that he had a English accent, it was nothing like his SF3 edition. It's not even the same TYPE of English accent. SF3's voice is regal confidence. SF4 is Mr Belvedere.
The voice acting of the former is really the only part about Alex that is unequivocally good. Not like his animations where everything is amazing, but somehow they completely flubbed his standing animation.Alex and Urien's English VA in V really deserve a lot of praise for trying to capture their SF3 voices. Season 3 should pull a Guilty Gear in season 3 and give new moves to everyone that isn't Cammy or Gief. Guile may be near perfect, but he has needed a new special for a while now, Alex is missing spiral DDT, Ibuki needs her old kick special back and Karin could use counters, her air grab or her command throw. Honestly an air throw would have helped her air to air game more than an air target combo I've never even seen in use months after being added in.SFV's lack of rekkas needs to be fixed asap.
Fun Fact: Urien's English VA, Bill Rogers, also voices Brock in the Pokémon animeAlex and Urien's English VA in V really deserve a lot of praise for trying to capture their SF3 voices. I love hearing them talk in fights.

But yeah, they hit it out of the park with Alex & Urien's English voices.
I definitely want to see new moves added to certain characters -- not necessarily for the sake of balance, but for better representing their fight styles and personalities.Season 3 should pull a Guilty Gear in season 3 and give new moves to everyone that isn't Cammy or Gief. I like the new Karin but I was really hopeful of her being her traditional form in SFV. I heard mention that the rationale behind it was that rekkas would be OP, but fine as a V-Trigger option, but even still I found her V-Trig mixup in S1 pretty ass and a bad gamble for her. It's better now that the overhead is safe on block, but I'd be more of a fan of her having her regular rekkas back, even if it was VT only.SFV's lack of rekkas needs to be fixed asap.
Did she not have the moves in SIV tho?Ibuki isn't really missing moves though, she simply isn't at the point in her life where she has her toolset of 3s. Same with how ryu doens't have the donkey kick yet.
But she has those moves in IV, which takes place before V.Ibuki isn't really missing moves though, she simply isn't at the point in her life where she has her toolset of 3s.
Did Capcom ever say that?SF3 characters in sf4 aren't canon
Adon wasn't honest. I know cuz I mained him. His unique wakeup timing fucked up many a Christmas.
A strong character archetype in SF4 that was good without being tricky was Feilong imo.
SF3 characters in sf4 aren't canon, Ibuki would've been like...11 years old but just as tall and skilled as her 3S version.
Did Capcom ever say that?
I don't know? They don't have to though, the teens don't fit in the story because of their ages. Dudley might work, but their stories are just throwaway garbage anyway with no relevance to the sf4 characters; Ibuki literally sneaks out of her village so she can meet hot guys to bang...that's her entire sf4 "story".
Evil ryu and Oni aren't canon either.
Ibuki isn't really missing moves though, she simply isn't at the point in her life where she has her toolset of 3s. Same with how ryu doens't have the donkey kick yet.
If capcom is smart, they will just quickly redo SF3 with a cinematic story and update characters with moves they had from.
Oh, I see. That fits. I kind of tuned out of Akuma's story mode after the whole Necalli unbirthing thing.Edit: To explain the Akuma thing again, the entire point of his story was that he was tapping into the bestial side without losing his humanity. He was pondering that, and then Ryu pretty much calls him out on not killing him. It's why Akuma and Ryu cool off in SF3, who will probably fight it out as rivals rather than doing it out of revenge.
