I'm gonna just go with the standard, but thanks man. I only have a PS3, but I'm planning on sticking with it much longer than I did with SF4. Also probably going to pick up Persona 4 Arena when that comes out too. Hopefully I can keep up with fighting games this time around.
I respect that. Persona 4 is gonna be awesome, but if it plays like Blazblue in terms of execution it may make you sad lol. I have huge problems with BB's combos. I can do all the trials in SF4/UMvC3, but BB's? Nope. Hopefully it's a bit more lenient, but I don't think that's how Aksys/ArcSystemWorks rolls when they make their fighters.
How much progress do you feel you made during SF4? I think I remember you buying an arcade stick to improve right? Did you get consistent with QCF's, SRK motions, etc? Execution I always felt was my biggest barrier in fighting games that I had to overcome. I have the reactions, reads, mindgames, etc but when it came to doing what I wanted I would fuck up/drop shit. So that's where I put a lot of my focus with SF4 to help level myself up.
It helped that I had a rival in a friend online who was probably winning 70%+ of matches against me, and so it forced me to step it up. It took a year+, but I'm know 50-50 with him in fighters. SF4, SF3, SC5, and UMvC3. SFxT is where I plan to step it up a notch and make myself get to the 70% win ratio against him, because I treat him as my benchmark on what to work with.
If you can find a rival do it. Having a friend to compete with and have fun with makes you stick with games much longer. Now with online training mode too, if you are both ass, you can level each other up.
