Okay... My Onkyo receiver won't show me any picture on the HDTV.

It is saying "HDMI starting up" on it's display whenever I switch to it. But it won't show any picture or audio with any of my connected devices (PS4, Wii U, Apple TV etc.)

What can I do?

It have worked normally all the time but today it won't act normal apparently.

I just got a parking ticket for parking within 20 feet of a "crosswalk". Not a big deal or ticket, but it's been a spot I have parked in regularly for a while.

My question is about the (1) definition of a crosswalk below.

Subd. 20.Crosswalk. "Crosswalk" means (1) that portion of a roadway ordinarily included with the prolongation or connection of the lateral lines of sidewalks at intersections; (2) any portion of a roadway distinctly indicated for pedestrian crossing by lines or other markings on the surface.

There were no lines or crossing signs so my first thought is that I was within 20 feet of a sidewalk, but not a crosswalk. "Ordinarily included with the prolongation" makes it sound like it can be a crosswalk even without the lines and such. Any thoughts legal gaf? Please tell my interpretation is wrong.

Who was the GAFer here who said a friend of theirs who's now a doctor used to hang live cats from an awning and then shoot them with BB guns?

I have a question for firefox users. Right now I have separate instances of firefox running, each full of tabs relevant to a class I'm in, but I can't open one of them without opening them all it seems. So my question is. Can you save a window and re-open it as it was, not just restoring a former session, but saving it and then in the meantime having other sessions and then re-opening a former one?

I believe that would require multiple installations. Maybe you could try running Waterfox and Cyberfox alongside your current installation.

Ha ha, I love that of all people, you're the one responding arch :D I'll look into waterfox and cyberfox, but it's not like a major issue, it'd just be nice to not have to pause a million youtube videos everytime I open up firefox.

I've been watching a few videos of a French show named Wakfu: The Animated Series.

I haaaaaate televised cartoons made in flash, but this show looks amazing. Absolutely loving the fight scenes. Maybe I'm LTTP, but any reason why it never made it to NA, and where can I buy a subbed compilation (if it exists)?

You will be able to buy it in the near future, they had a Kickstarter to raise funds to do it.

It will also be dubbed etc (Look at stretch goals)

I accidentally deleted my replies folder, how do I get it back? I'll tab this thread & check back to see if someone replied... see what I mean?

I see this on American TV and movies all the time.... A wife is pissed off at her husband and sends him out of the house, he then leaves no questions asked. My question is this, is the law on the wife's side? Does the husband have leave or face being forced out by the police?

This happens even when the husband is clearly the bread winner of the family and is paying the mortgage. I've never understood this.

Almost always, at least initially.

On Cops (which I'm going to go with the assumption is a fairly accurate representation of how police handle things), the police will ask the person that is not the caller to stay at a hotel or somewhere else for the night until the situation is cooled down .. or ask the caller to do it if the offending person is being belligerent. But they make it clear that the person isn't allowed to be kicked out permanently if they're married or if that's the person's permanent residence.

How do I make my avatar not look like blurry poop? It looks fine in Adobe Fireworks, it looks fine when I put it up on another site, but here it looks all muddy. Is there any way to fix this? I assume the problem is that the picture is way too big but I don't know how to fix it because I am dumb. :(

Thanks for clearing that up dude. Its just the way the husband always leaves without any argument that confused me.

Here's one that doesn't deserve a thread:

Anyone got that animated gif with the Joker making a "come on, boys" motion and then marching out of the room with a cane? I brought it up with a friend last night and then couldn't find it on the internet. Animated gifs are always so hard to search for.

What are the best settings to have when playing a dvd on ps3?

BD/DVD Upscaler? Should it be 'off', 'double scale' , 'normal' or 'full screen'

BD/DVD - Video output format (HDMI)? 'Automatic', 'RGB' , 'Y PB/CB PR/CR'

thanks

There you go.

If that is not satisfactory simply use this version save it to your computer then upload it and it will automatically resize itself to fit.

Is there alot of scamming that goes on on Skype? I've recently got back into Skype as an easy way to chat with my girlfriend. This is my only Skype account and it only has her and a few other friends on it. Today however I get a message from a person with a baity name that I don't know. No profile info and nothing in the request message other than the default 'add me' message. I'm wondering if I should take the risk with accepting their request. I could add and block if I really don't know them but are there alot of ways people can grief you/get information about you through Skype by simply adding them?

For my rare vid chat needs I use Appear.in, but my thinking is thus; were you fine before you met this random stranger who tried to add you? What are the odds they are going to enrich your experience? The likelihood they are a lawyer trying to pass on news of a newly dead, unknown relative that left you a huge sum of money if only you will spend a weekend in a haunted house? All signs point to this just being some spam bot or scammer. Whatever it is, the likelihood that anything good will come of it is so small that, in my mind, it isn't even worth considering.

Is there a version of the "one-drop rule" in Latin American? In Colombia, if I look totally white but am 1/4 native, will I not be considered white?

Sensible. I will ignore the person.

I started a career more than a year ago at the biggest company in my country. I started at around $40k and have made my way up to $50k currently. My boss and co-workers are awesome and the location is around 15 minutes from my home. However, I know that the market rate for my position is around $55-60k so I have started to look elsewhere. Today I got an offer from a leading international organization that is around $70k. The location is around 1.5 hours from my home and the position would be a lateral move. Expected additional expense is around $2-5k a year for travel.

My manager presented me with a counter offer on the same day. I would be bumped up to $60k with a promotion to a senior role in another team, I would also get the opportunity to fill in for a manager for a few months. After 12 months in this role they promised to reevaluate my position and possibly advance to a manager position.

What would you do? Would you take the extra $10k or would you take the promotion at the old place? The new job would be at a company that is the biggest of its kind internationally, and the old job is currently at the leading organization in the industry nationally.

Think about this; what is the ultimate commodity? To me it's time. No matter your job title, or your income, or your influence, there is one thing you will never really be able to collect more of; time.

Trading a 30 minute daily commute for a 3 hour daily commute is a big reduction in your time. Is two extra hours a day completely wasted worth the extra money? If so, perhaps you've found yourself a new position.

I didn't think to look at it that way... very good advice. What if I could move closer to the new job? Rent would be around the same and I don't have a fixed term on the place I'm currently renting so I could move at any time.

That sounds like a good solution. With an international corporation that opens a doorway to move to another country at some point if you so wish. Sure, that's always an option for people with something to offer, but I hear of such things that it's much easier if you've already got a job lined up.

But then you've got to consider the value in getting a big promotion at your current employer. Sure it won't match the pay, but the upgrade in title and experience could also have real value in the future. If you are still very young, it might make a good investment in your future to take the promotion. Plenty of time left to move companies once you're a big shot with a fancy title. Like they say, at your current company you might become a big fish in a small pond.

Take the promotion. You are very, very lucky to be working at a job you like, with people you like. That is worth a lot. Consider your new position and how much time you will spend traveling + the risk of being stuck at a place you hate + starting from scratch with all your relationships....screw that. Even if you rent closer. On a side note, I had someone working for me in a similar position where another company (a much larger company) offered him a position. We offered him a bit more (without being able to match), and he stayed with us. The higher-ups above me thought this was a great sign of loyalty, and him staying has paid him off much better in the long run.

Thanks for this, really great advice. I've listened to many people and so far staying seems like the smarter thing to do. My gut feeling is also telling me the same.

I'm confident that I can make that extra $10k no problem in the near future.

I agree with your advice too, I'm still young, the promotion will be a great investment in my career. I just have to handle the offer rejection properly so I don't burn any bridges.

I'm about to buy a Watch Dogs code on ebay and it has 34 minutes left in the bidding. Should I buy it now or wait until time is nearly over?

How exactly does Usb 3.0 work?

Does the device which the usb is inserted in need some kind of 3.0 compatibility?

Say for example, would a 3.0 usb work with a ps3? I think the ps4 does?

You need a USB 3.0 port and a USB 3.0 cable if you want to use the full speed. If you connect it to an older device it will run at a slower speed.

So if I plug a 2.0 usb in my ps4 (which is 3.0 compatible) and plug a 3.0 usb aswell and I want to transfer over to the 3.0, it wont get full speed correct?

Would someone please recommend me a free, simple and optionally online tool for editing images? I mostly want to put text on the images and preferably do it without any unnecesarry hassle. The only image editing tool I have ever used is Microsoft Paint.

Simple to use and works in the web browser. Open your image, Select the A in the tool box on the left hand side. Type in your text, move, edit etc.

I'm looking for a scifi movie where people take drugs that are stamps they apply to skin. Not a tv show. It is driving me crazy.

Maybe not stamps. Stickers? I'm googling all over and can't find.
