NO MORE SLY COOPER PLEASE!! I heard these guys were working on a action adventure game last year.

January 19, 2006 - The Bellevue, Washington development company Sucker Punch Productions (Sly Cooper) has begun requesting applications for engine programmers on its next project. This is a significant demand for the fan-favorite company as the request is for an untitled "Top Secret Next-Gen" videogame. The specific platform is unconfirmed, but is expected to for PlayStation 3 given Sucker Punch's recent release history.

The only other fact we know about the mystery title is that will feature online elements of some kind -- not a big surprise for a next-gen project, but it is a new road taken for Sucker Punch as a game maker.

Pretty sure it'll be a brand new IP. Sly is getting stale and boring with each iteration. New IP plz

I couldn't agree more! I hope its a mature rated game though, Sly Cooper 1 was great and all but I thought it was kind of 'kiddy.'

For shame, Doom Bringer! Also, one of the best things about Sly 1 - level audio commentary! I actually listened to 'em all, and thought it was a great feature. Totally wish more games did stuff like that...

God of War has the commentary feature too and so does Sly 2! I listed to David Jaffe talking about GoW, thought it was cool.

Well, that's basically the same thing to me. Once they leave Insomniac, Sucker Punch or Naughty Dog, series are as good as dead 'cause they are destined to suck in every version afterward! Say no to Vivendi cheapware.
 
Great great news. I am playing Sly3 now and loving every minute of it, although I do find their pose to pose ultra snappy animation to get a bit annoying on the cut scenes. Nobody touches Naughty Dogs character animators in games IMO.
 
I too hope they give up on Sly, but I think it would be a bit selfish to expect even them to work on a "mature" content game? We already know Insomniac is working on I8, which is as far distanced from a character mascot game as it can get. Naughty Dog, I have no idea, but they probably won't continue with Jak series either.

Who's left then in Sony's 1st party to make games that would be colorful and "kiddie" and generally appreciated by young kids? Surely not Factor 5 or Santa Monica Team :P They have got to have something like that too. Even MS has such a game in Kameo (I say even because they tend to cater to older market more than others).
 
I don't really care if a game is "kiddie" or not. Actually I would like their next game to be "kiddie" cause then there's a good chance it'll be cel-shaded and I want to see how good a next-gen cel shaded game will look

Sly is very far of a "hot license". I´m sure it will be a new IP. This guys have talent, I´m sure they can do something more ambitious.

Nobody. If you want kiddy games buy a Gamecube or look for shoddy third party licensed games.

I wonder if Ratchet and Jak are gonna be retired like Crash was. Give those franchises to Vivendi or something, and come up with new IPs to milk into the ground. I think only a few franchises deserve to span generations. GT is one, but this being my 20th year or so in gaming, I'm getting fucking tired of the goddamn sequels. PEACE.

Ghost of Yotei isn't bigger than Ghost of Tsushima, but "it feels larger" because Sucker Punch tricked you into thinking so
