Suicide Squad Official Trailer

These damn trailers are so well edited. I thought the 1st one with the cover of the Bee Gees song was great but this one is pure fire, Bohemian Rhapsody ftw.

Anyone think that maybe members of the squad in the comics who didn't make the movie cut will get a mention as an Easter Egg? I can see Waller saying they're using Croc because "he's less dangerous than the last time we tried using a humanoid who can live under water".

Captain Boomerang has to survive for the eventual Flash movie. Wasn't Tom Hardy Captain Boomerang initially?

Love the little smokey skull detail here

Bitch be taking souls!
I was legit surprised when Will Smith took on the role of Deadshot cause I thought he had a rule where he always had to play a hero.

And then I realized they're probably gonna make him be pretty much a hero.

Deadshot has been made to be a much more sympathetic character as of late, involving shittiness in his life, and the reason he's an assassin is to provide for his family. Specifically his kid (usually a daughter). So, not necessarily a good guy, but one of the better people as far as the Task Force X is concerned.

Hopefully they don't let that get in the way of him ultimately doing really bad shit. I WANT MURDER URGES! AND GENERAL SCUMBAGGERY!

Five bucks says that Boomerang gets Rope Guy killed.

That's a sucker's bet if ever I've heard one.

It'll be EXACTLY like how it went down in the comic, I guarantee it. Boomer talks Slipknot into believing that the bombs are a bluff, ol' Slippy does something that higlights how TOTALLY OUT OF HIS LEAGUE he is, he panics and tries to make a break for it, and BOOM!

And Boomer gets to verify that yes, the bombs are real.

I think Boomer betrays the team at some point, appears to die and will be brought back if audiences like him enough

Deadshot might be up for a heroic sacrifice since they're setting up the sympathy for his daughter situation.

Croc is making it - cant kill a Batman villain. Katana and Flagg too.

Diablo and Ropes are dead in the water, and Enchantress aint making it.

I have a good feeling that everyone in this image will make it out of this movie alive.

You have 4 prominent villains & 2 legit heroes. It's a solid list of characters to use in later films.

What exactly would Katana be used for later?
Batman = nope, has dozens of unused partners that would be more famous(for diversity sake he has an Asian Batgirl)
Justice League = nope wouldn't really fit in at least the first 2.
potential Titans* = doesn't fit that group.
Suicide Squad 2 = is a random selection the first time around would just be weird her taging along again.

*though you could say the flag thing is a cover and she is actually there to cover her pre-Titans pal Agent Grayson.

But we all agree that Ropeguy is definitely dying. I'm putting money on Enchantress killing him with his own rope.

Ropeguy is the new "Hawkguy"

Oh I'm pretty the universe decided Slipknot Ropeguy was dead the moment that first cast photo was released.

Biggest Red Shirt if there ever was one.

Nah, no way is that happening. First, Will Smith. Second, Deadshot is a popular character out of the SS (Harley being the first of course). Plus, he is an original SS. El Diablo has died in the comics by heroic sacrifice before, probably going to be him.

Justice League Dark and maybe, MAYBE, Birds of Prey. Or Green Arrow if they adapt Outsiders War.

Looking awesome.

This trailer made the movie seem a lot more fun and less serious than the past trailers.

When WB decides to do a Birds of Prey film

It was instantly obvious when they announced him. Nothing against the actor but that character is a red shirt if there ever was one considering who else is on that team. I think the others possibly to die are Flag and Croc but even then I think they might only appear dead but not really be. I think of the "named" villains Slipknot might be the only one to die. Others might escape instead of die.

Who is the villain in this? Is it that weird thing that the train crashes into?

I guess it's weird to ask "who is the vilain." But who are these fine chaps going up against

Killer Croc is a prominent Batman villain. So while not on the level of the two mentioned above, he's too big to be killed off now (figuratively & literally).

Eh, he's never been a movie villain but they could always put him in a flashback of a Batman movie even if they kill him off.

Ropeguy will get shot, turn to the camera and say "you did knot see that coming". And his death will have no effect on the team.
This is what I'm actually hoping to happen if someone does kick the bucket. Maybe they fool the audience into thinking the team is affected before they just shrug it off because they only knew the guy for like two days.

HOT TAKES COMIN THRU!

Remember when the fanboys were saying that the first image of The Joker from this movie was a prank? Oh, lol.

Look, there's no way to deny that this trailer is 100%, knowingly, definitively riffing on Guardians of the Galaxy. That is the vibe WB wants you to take away from this.

This trailer doesn't really get me any more interested in the film than I was (I've been curious about the movie) but it does make me happy that the whole DC Movieverse won't be unrelentingly grim and angry. That tagline, though - Worst. Heroes. Ever. - is dismal. Don't make a reference to the Comic Book Guy when you're trying to sell your superhero movie. Hide your self-loathing a touch better.
