Suicide Squad Official Trailer

I still can't believe people would be gullible enough to fall for that write-up, dammmn. Look at what they have written Ayer as saying lmao.

There's this thing called confirmation bias... where folks look for evidence to support something they already believe to be true

And that happens a lot around these parts

Man I just can't get over how awful the Joker looks. I like the rest, but he really drags the trailer down.

I know I'll have to get past it because he's going to play it to perfection, but I hate his look as well.

Not sold on what I've seen of Robbie so far either. This will sound silly but it feels to me like she's "acting" like a bad girl instead of being a bad girl. I'm willing to be surprised, of course.

I'll probably love Smith and Kinnaman. I'm cool with Courtney and the rest.

The trailer has been growing on me the more I watch it.

Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn.

So blessed. So moved. So grateful. Can't believe this is my life. Never going to take it for granted.

I was the first one to guess if that thing in the subway was Common and apparently it was him.

The back of the head is shaped just like Common.

I remember reading somewhere that the Batman chase scene is actually
right after Joker killed Jason Todd and afterwards Batman retires and Harley leaves the Joker because of what he did. So Bruce puts on the cowl again for Superman, but leaves it on for Joker/Waller.

That might have just been speculation that I read instead of rumors tho

Eh, I doubt this. I think it's just a random car chase that lands them both in Arkham. I really hope we get a healthy dose of Batman in this movie. Oracle/Batgirl would be nice too, seeing as Jena Malone will be playing her in BvS and we have Scott Eastwood here as Nightwing.

I hope both end up true, but we don't know this yet.

Why do people keep repeating stuff from that insane, nonsensical Reddit post?

I very much doubt it's true, but I really like the idea of Eastwood (as Nightwing) undercover within Waller's operation. It helps to build up the Bat-family stuff before the rumoured Batman solo films. Also because I've heard Grayson is a damn good comic.

Oh, wanting it to be true is fine. I am right there with you, man. I just know Reddit wish-fulfillment when I see it. :-p I just don't want people repeating it as fact and creating an impossible-to-live-up-to scenario for people who don't realize those were just rumors.

Re: Enchantress

In the scene where Flagg is going through the Squad's powers, he says "you're possessed by a witch". Not "She's possessed"

And that's the scene where she's still normal and hanging out with Flagg

So what's her relationship with Waller and Flagg? They just have someone like that hanging around?

Also, you don't see Enchantress doing the Squad action. Adds more validity to the theory that she's the film's antagonist (or one of them)

But if he mentions her as part of squad and their abilities, doesn't that make it sound like she's originally in it?

Well in the original comics, they knew she was possessed, and would bring her on missions as like a super last ditched weapon because she has limited control and could rein her back in

Maybe something similar here?

Trailer was pretty good.

Harley Quinn is one of my favorite characters of all time, but I'm not feeling her in the trailer. Robbie looks fantastic, it's just the writing for her seems...meh. Her lines looked like they were trying to hard to force the "Look how wacky and insane she is!" angle, but the lines were super cliche and standard fare "crazy person trope." I'm sold on Robbie as Harley, though, when I was super skeptical before. In either case, I'm more interested in this movie than Batman v Superman. Looking forward to checking it out.

Because it's where the character originated.

That being said, it's a giant disservice to BTAS to call it a "Kids Cartoon".

Every Joker has been given a unique performance. I see no reason for her not to be allowed to give her own performance. It will be much better and more memorable this way.

I thought that was a really well-made tailer. Like, the marketing for the film has been ACE.

The movie still looks absolutely terrible, no thank you. A clever trailer and some cool poster design ain't gonna fool me, son. I been on this earth too long.

What about it looks terrible to you? If you agree that the trailer was cool, what turns you off from the film?

Trust in David Ayer dude!

Or Jai Courtney...

So tired of comic book movies now but I actually am loving that DC is going in hard. Something about Suicide Squad & BvS just seems refreshing compared to whatever Marvel is throwing out.

Joker looks soooo stupid. Harley Quinn is just obnoxious "oh I should kill everyone and escape? Heheh! Just kidding! That's not what they actually said!" 😕

Maybe I just don't "get" this movie or something because it just looks so lame to me.

Good trailer. no major plot Spoilers unlike bvs.

Looks like it COULD be fun...

My one reservation is that they seem to be trying to hard. Dialogue seems like it came from a children's cartoon. I hope there's some subtlety

Using Bohemian Rhapsody was a bad choice, too recognizable to lend a unique identity or mood. The visuals, characters look good, hope it turns out well.

Very easy to do if you have zero knowledge of the characters. Not for everyone.

The best thing to happen to DC is getting good directors like Ayer and Affleck to direct their films. I doubt it'll happen any time soon, but the sooner they could move away from Snyder helming all their tentpoles, the better.

Why do people keep repeating stuff from that insane, nonsensical Reddit post?
Because people want things to be true, so they convince themselves it is true. It's no different from people in the Wonder Woman First Look thread going "that's so dumb that Chris Pine is playing Steve Trevor AND Steve Trevor's great-granddad, so they can use him in both present day AND WWI era."

Guess what? Not true, but yet people believe it. Some people still think this Joker is a former Robin. People still think that's a possible theory that works. STILL.
I'd rather watch schlock than dreck so I'll possibly watch this movie and avoid BvS like the plague.

Or don't see either? Do you have a certain quota for going to the theater? Seems miserable.
