That bloody DAMAGED tattoo on Joker's forehead is depleting far more excitement I could have had for this film than even a million publicity photos could generate. I know it's extremely irrational and petty, but still...

DAMAGED.

It's fucking atrocious. I like the idea of Harley having shitty ink because Joker branded her but every tat that Joker has is a God awful attempt at being "edgy".

Joker is edgy. I always gotta bring this up on this forum but the character is literally bleeding edginess on every page. His whole mantra, the way he talks, his silly makeup etc. The whole cult popularity of the character after TDK was because of this too.

The tattoos and the swag punk look are a natural evolution. Damaged is basura though no doubt.

Really like this one

Margot's got that bratty Harley Quinn face down.

Still not sold at all on this version of the Joker. How is this guy with a "Damaged" tattoo on his forehead one of the most feared creepy villains in the DCU. I don't know. Hopefully watching the movie in full will sell me on it.

Also think it's kind of weird that Harley has a necklace thing that says "Puddin" and Joker has all of these Joker related tattoos and stuff.

I thought so at first but when you realize that, you know, we somehow treat a pale man with green hair in a purple suit and Harley's jester onesie as normal. It's not all that different. By and large they've done good work taking the spirit of these characters and making them contemporary. But I'll admit the damaged tattoo still gets me.

Seems like they're going more with the Clown Prince of Crime joker than more modern takes' maniacal ubervillain. He's a gang boss with a freaky-ass aesthetic, thus the cartel inspirations.

Just say it: it fucking sucks. You know it. I know it. Everyone knows it.

idk there's something there

I will LOL if there's a fanservice rope bondage scene, involving harley quinn being tied up with the rope from the rope guy

Maybe the damaged tattoo is like the big bat symbol in some Batman stories. It's meant to stand out so people would aim for it, and he has a giant metal plate in his head so he can't be hurt.

Bet none of you thought that, huh!

Joker is crazy. Premeditated shitty tats aren't crazy to me. I'm fine with him being actual punk but this joker is some Falloutboy shit to me rather than Sid Vicious. Also I think his cult popularity came from his makeup being scary and Ledger's portrayal of him being unhinged. He's a character that could ostensibly be silly but he's so intimidating that he's not. This joker just looks like a lame poser.

Psst, people said the same kind of shit about Ledger before TDK, that he didn't look like 'real' Joker and was looked like a homeless person in make up or whatever. Different interpretations of a character whose been through countless versions and revisions.

Being a gaudy edgelord seems part and parcel to modern interpretations of The Joker, to me. To that end, the tats work.

Rope guy is shown in trailer scenes of them introducing the team, and then that shot of him roping to a roof. I bet that's about the extent of his part before going boom.

Psst, I was there for Ledger and I didn't complain about him. I just think the design of this Joker is lame; maybe I'll Jett myself and be all "Wow! These shitty tats and grill suddenly make amazing sense in regards to the context of this sophisticated narrative and he's terrifying because of it!" But my money's still on me coming out thinking he looks like a fuckin' goober.

For some reason I'm not entirely sold on Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn. I like her, but she looks like she's doing lazy cosplay.
I suppose we'll see.

I also think the damaged tattoo is stupid, but whatever. Just ignore it and pretend it's not there.

I'm most psyched for Viola Davis. Major, major character in the comics(if not the hingepin), so I hope she gets her time in the spotlight.

I think Viola Davis has the potential to absolutely own the role in a way Gary Oldman did for Gordon where I will always read them in their voice.

CCH Pounder already did a good job of it though but I think Viola is a pretty strong actor.

From the brief glimpses of her(only that one dinner scene?), she seems to be owning it.

Sequel baddie? Isn't she the baddie here? I also didn't know the Tattoo Man was actually in this.

Tattoo Man is being played by Common and he's the guy Joker is talking with in that pic of him at a club. I don't think he's been officially announced, just by set pics and careful examining of the trailers.

I still think this movie could end up working. I haven't loved every trailer, but I think it's got a shot.
I'm not crazy optimistic, though.

You know, at this point i'm less bothered by the word being there and more about the font used. Why the fuck is it so straight and formal? Even in the context of being a edgy tattoo saying "DAMAGED", it still looks out of place.

Just say it: it fucking sucks. You know it. I know it. Everyone knows it.

For me, what makes it even worse is the fact that Joker has never even really considered himself DAMAGED in the comic books. He's always been the one absolutely convinced that he sees the world for how it really is (a big joke) whilst everyone is blinded to the monstrous nature of the reality they inhabit. But no, with this version...Joker's a gritty, eccentric prisoner with a DAMAGED tattoo on his fucking forehead.

DAMAGED.

DAMAGED.

The fact that everyone dislikes and think the 'damaged' tattoo looks trashy and out of place means that the makeup artist/production designer's gambit worked.

Buying an advanced ticket on Day 1 and I can't WAIT for the Hot Topic clothing line to come out. That Harley Quinn bomber jacket will be MINE

Honestly, my expectations on Suicide Squad are astronomical. If it doesn't end up being one of my absolute favorite films of all time, Ayer will have failed me.

Movie continues to look like over produced garbage...something wb is getting quite good at

Having recently seen bvs it was so much worse than I was even imagining

I wonder if Jai Courtney is cursed. I can't think of a single film he's been in thus far that wasn't shit.

Also, what the fuck kind of name is "Jai" anyhow?

hot topic is already all over this movie with its edgy new offerings

x____x

I didn't even realize Hot Topic was still "in." What is this, 2005?
