Suikoden VI already in development..for ps3

Suikoden II was great , awesome, Suikoden III was average , Suikoden IV was horrible . I lost my faith in the Suikoden series .

They should keep doing Yu Gi Oh and Princeof Tennis series . Also stink , but don´t dissapoint anybody like Suikoden IV , Neo Contra o Castlevania LoI did.

Suikoden I, II and III was cool, but I dunno what happened with the fourth. Crazy shit.

Suikoden PS3 better be good. Just because if it sucks, that's the end of me caring for that series.

What about Suikoden V? Will you forgive that one if it sucks?:P

What's with the suikomilking. The series doesn't even sell that well.

Approximate sales (I don't have exact numbers, no number for the Gaiden 1/2 and Card Stories, or PAL sales)

Suikoden 1 US 150k
Suikoden 1 JP 250k

Suikoden 2 US 90k (ouch)
Suikoden 2 JP 280k

Suikoden 3 US 250k
Suikoden 3 JP 400k

Suikoden 4 US 115k
Suikoden 4 JP 300k

Those aren't huge sales, but they're not bad at all either.

Edit: Fixed Suikoden 4 US numbers, original source wasn't sure, just checked the NPD threads for accurate count. ~115 isn't shabby considering how bad most of the reviews were.

I liked Suikoden IV.

It didn't feel like a full game though, and if I rated it on a non-suikoden goodness factor, it's a pretty bad game...

...but I liked it. Some of the characters were great. I really liked Snowe and Ted. The rune's story was also interesting.

Just the overall story, the main character and the villians were poor.

Graphics were decent. The 2d art was really good.

The gameplay was traditional Suikoden goodness, minus 2 characters.

I thought Suikoden 4 was okay, and that's coming from a huge fan. Basically I thought 3 was pretty good, had the story and to an extent the characters (supporting cast was weaker than previous I thought), but I didn't like the battle system a lot. 4 had a much better battle system IMO, went back to the older style more, but I thought the plot and characters were weak. And God the sailing was lame. Plus the map was freaking huge, and there was so few locations, what the hell. Worth playing for hardcore Suikoden fans, but that's about it, I couldn't reccommend it to anybody else honestly.

I still hold out hope for 5 and the series in general though.

The Konami site makes no mention of the PS3 or of Suikoden VI. Kawano is asked what she'll be able to do on new hardware and she gives a general response. I'm not sure how that turned into Suikoden VI being in development for the PS3.

I'm really not getting the Suikoden III hate. IV, ok that's fine. But III was pretty damn good.

Word...Three Offered some damn fine story telling, its remarkable how they managed character development on that scale, I mean there are 108 characters for goodness sakes. I loved 3 hated IV, hopefully V will be more along the lines of the first 3 Titles.

Gameplay wise, 3 was decent.

Story wise, it was really good for the first 3 chapters then they totally dropped the ball on the last 2. It's obvious Hugo is the flame champion, so they should have forced it and worked on actually developing the character. Instead we get the Hugo that's all "I hate the ironheads! Grr! I am a stupid kid with no character development!". When we should have gotten a Hugo that's more like the manga. Dealing with having the True Fire Rune and what it brought to him (memories, anguish, suffering, etc). That's one thing the other Suikoden's succeeded at, including 4. Showing what the true rune does to someone.

Luckily Luc's story made up for chapter 4 and 5 and it worked out nicely.
3 showed the effects of the true rune through Luc. Who I actually consider to be the "hero" of the game.

That is pretty good. Given that what really matters to the publisher -the shipment numbers- is where they make the profit and obviously that's higher than what NPD has.

I don't think it's even possible to have fully accurate sales figures. Maybe that's why Greatest Hit's are based off of recorded shipment to retails.

off in tangent/ 10.

1. III was the first difficult Suikoden (anyone who refuses to admit they didn't die once as Geddoe's party is a liar. Holy shit.)

But... I didn't die at all in Suikoden III (except at the very end when you have to go down three paths, and you split your party up as such. I had a bunch of really weak characters in one group that made me die twice on the one boss).

Totally agree on Trinity Sight System, though. Mmm mmm.

Sweet, so there's still hope for a Shadow of Memories sequel. :D

Geddoe's party rocked so much.

Stop waiting, it's never happening.

I don't think he's actually waiting though, it was more like a statement.
Especially now that Suikoden IV has been out for a number of months in Europe.

Well, it sounded like the poor guy was hoping there was still a chance. I had to break it to him. :(
