Hahahaha, NO. Things actually happen in Eureka Seven and when they do, they're not shot for shot rip offs of Evangelion. Rah Xephon is the worst.
I'm still surprised there was noTL team.
Honestly, so was I. They had like, everything EXCEPT team DTL.

Ray and Charles show up it doesn't matter because it is a straight shot of amazing until the end from there on out.

If I could (barely) keep my sanity during the 4Kids Dub of Sonic X and their games before the recasting, I'm pretty sure I'll be fine with Eureka Seven.
The question is what Eureka Seven is trying to be. Gurren Lagann was awesome because of it's action and music. Code Geass (season 1) was good because of the story and it's epic plot twists. Clannad was good because the romance story it was trying to tell was very well done.
If Eureka Seven can blend some of these together well, then I'm pretty sure it won't be a bad experience. I'm just wondering if it will reach "10/10 would watch again" status.

I don't know if it's Gundam/*mechashow*/Toeishit conditioning, but I really don't mind the pace the story is going right now. They are giving the characters some space to breathe which I expect will help later on.

Pacing in E7 or Rahxephon is my favorite kind. Gives time to explore the setting, characters, atmosphere, etc. Adds to the overall value of the show. Final product feels so much more like a fully fleshed out world.

First of all, this is a direct continuation of the Doremi # Movie, so if you haven't seen that before this episode, do so.
In a show full of surprisingly down-to-earth and heartfelt moments and in a season that has been full of treatments on what parents pass onto their children--for better or worse--this episode managed to top them all. Despite all the magical hijinks that go on in this show, it never forgets the real issues that go on in people's lives, and that more than anything else is out of the expected demographic.

How is BLue Exorcist only a five and Neon Genesis Evangelion is depressingly low?
You should check out K, Durarara!! and Blast of Tempest.
I'm not huge on anime and didn't like either. I just found the protagonist and friends to be really annoying. Eva, I had no idea wtf was going on and to make matters worse the last two (or three?) episodes were mind boggling. I didn't watch the movies and don't plan to. Didn't like the protagonist in it either.
Edit: Your recommendations look interesting. Moved them to the top of my queue.

Sorry but I think the movie is garbage compared to the manga. I think the manga's worldbuilding is vastly superior and the length does allow issues and characters to be explored more fully. I also don't think the art in the anime does justice to the art in the manga. The ending as well is pretty on the nose with the Jesus allegories which the manga at least tries to avoid at times. I really despised the ending.
I do plan on seeing all three but I was wondering which to tackle first. I went on a binge last summer and knocked off a bunch but still working my way through them. I wasn't wild about Totoro as I thought it was too brief and almost incomplete in a way. Laputa I absolutely loved and it's probably one of my favorites. Spirited Away didn't click till somebody mentioned the capitalism theme that I missed during my watching. The one I liked the least was definitely Castle in the Sky due to the last third of the film where the story just goes to shit.

It's bad enough that he cheated on Kotonoha, but it's even worse that he's flat out lying to her about it. I mean, what the hell?
Damn, Katsura! Didn't think you had it in you to do something like that! But I gotta be honest, I kinda want Sekai to stick with Makoto now, as he seems to genuinely love her. At least according to the last few episodes he does. If he actually ends up going back to Katsura instead of telling her the truth, then I will pull a Victor Kudo and eat seeds and sing the pidgeon song!

Not to mention TTGL had its boring parts too. 2nd Season arc has a whole was dull as fuck sometimes and there were issues after episode 8 in the first arc as well.
TTGL is not flawless.

Nah it's mostly that Nia is a disgusting and unlikeable nothing character. That's the one pox on what is otherwise a great show.
I would suggest Gargantia, it's just good (mostly) light-hearted fun.
And as you have watched Fate/Stay Night, Fate/Zero would be a good addition. Although you did rate F/SN quite low, so maybe not

There was Simon's depression arc that dragged on. The bigger offender though was definitely the middle portion of the 2nd season. Part and episodes were just flat out boring.

I actually think Miyazaki isn't that good at telling stories over a certain length or of a certain density. He just kind of loses the plot and fills the world with more complexity which doesn't make for a stronger overall story.
Futari wa Milky Holmes Episode 1: Well, given that name I was not sure to expect. Given some of the thought about context I am most glad it turned out to be a supremely boring middle school slice of life show mixed in with was I can only assume is some sort of magical girl parody of Detective Conan. Yea, suffice it to say this was putting me to sleep until there was actual crime to fight.

E7's second half wasn't great either, mainly because it turned into a giant clusterfuck, but I never actually loathed some of its cast the way I did with TTGL.

I definitely don't approve of complexity for complexity's sake. That said, I thought with Nausicaa some of the stuff really helped to bring depth to the world and in a work like this with the message it has, worldbuilding is crucial. Yes it doesn't always make for the most 'lean' stories but it does help with immersion. I never felt that he lost the plot compared to A Song of Ice and Fire.

I just watched Nausicaa for the first time, actually. It works as an adventure film, but I didn't find the characters that interesting aside from Nausicaa herself, kind of, and in its environmental themes it feels like a dry run for their more nuanced exploration in Princess Mononoke. The world design is ace though. The forest is incredible.
Right, that's part of my issue too in that it feels really shallow compared to Mononoke which I consider the superior film.
Does it differentiate itself from Fate/Stay Night or is it more or less the same?

F/SN is -terrible-. F/Z was written by a completely different dude and was done by an actually competent studio. Honestly you'd be better off pretending F/SN doesn't exist.
Vastly different on a lot of levels. Some of the premises are similar such as another Grail War but that is it. Bigger writing, directing, soundtrack, and animation.
