It's not really condensed. These episodes are now two episodes sewn together. Just minus the extra OP and ED and replaced with a new scene or scenes.Edited as in condensed though? I haven't seen Psycho Pass either so I'm wondering.

How is Psycho Pass? Should I watch Season 1 before I watch this version airing this summer?
I'd put Gurren Lagann 15 up there with the best, that is an incredible episode too, but E7 26, fuck. From the storyboarding, overall episode direction, to writing and acting, the whole thing is an amazing artistic achievement. I wish I owned key frames of the episode, just to frame.I'm already visioning posters coming out of the woodworks for this post.
I agree.
It's pretty bad honestly, I wouldn't recommend watching it at all
It's shit tons better, lol. On every level. E7 26 is one of the all time greatest episodes of TV animation, period.
Eh, my favorite episode will always be 43. I remember 26 being good in the animation department though.I'm already visioning posters coming out of the woodworks for this post.
I agree.
Pffft. The reason you think that Renton's awesome moment isn't up to Noriko and Simon's awesome moment snuffs is because this isn't even Renton's awesome moment yet.
I cant think of any show that has had that done aside from Gundam Seed and Destiny.Man, I haven't watched Eureka in years. Did they ever put it in widescreen and HD-ify it yet? Back when I saw it, 4:3 was still the thing.

It was made with a 4:3 aspect ratio. It was upscaled and released on Blu-ray, the image quality as I recall is better in some ways than the DVD release and worse in other ways.Man, I haven't watched Eureka in years. I'm actually somewhat surprised that people liked the 2nd episode of Terror in Resonance. So much of it is info dumping and solving a basic riddle.
I think someone here already mentioned that the second episode would be mostly exposition.
I do agree about the riddle part, was it really necessary to take that much time to explain the entire Oedipus story to audiences?
That would involve cropping, etc. Original aspect ratio is always king. If a show was framed for 4:3 I dont think it should be changed.

Yes. Funimation released it in the U.S.Ah, I didn't realize 4:3 was the original format. It kinda irks me sometimes having to watch video like that, but I suppose it's no different from watching something with the black bars on the top and bottom, and I don't complain about that. Is the whole thing out on blu-ray now? I might have to give it another watch.
They're setting the theme, the detective is smart, etc. I'm not sure what people expect them to do, they have to get some info dump somewhere. The riddle is a good thing to revisit, plus the "hidden/not widely known version". I like learning in anime, especially when it doesn't break the mood of the story.I think someone here already mentioned that the second episode would be mostly exposition.

Edit: Speaking of Bones and Blu-ray relases, is Wolf's Rain ever getting one? :\
It hasn't had a Blu-ray release in Japan yet. I assume Funimation might have the rights.Who even has the rights to that? I know Bandai released the original DVDs in the US, and they pulled out of the country completely.
I need to watch something happy. I was planning on watching The Idolm@ster for my next series (to give it a fair shot) but I might do Usagi Drop instead.

The Idolm@ster is surpsingly decent/good. Fun stories and characters, and not fanservice heavy at all (very little of it actually)I need to watch something happy. I was planning on watching The Idolm@ster for my next series (to give it a fair shot) but I might do Usagi Drop instead.

Smile Precure is pretty happy

Can't go wrong with either of them. I love im@s but Usagi Drop has those heartwarming episodes.

Oh god, this is my fault for mentioning the show.It really is a great show that totally doesn't have a manga
Don't forget about SAO.
Edit: Oh wait, maybe it's Dokidoki! PreCure that I am thinking of that I remember PreCureGAF complaining about.
