Watch the Persona 3 movies when they come out.

I haven't watched the P4G anime but the first P3 movie doesn't exactly have a great structure either. I don't think it would be very satisfying for somebody who hasn't played the game, it doesn't feel like a standalone film. Also the zero personality version of Protag sucks and the attempt at making minor boss battles into some sort of story event feel totally disingenuous.

i've tried... and found the first 20 episode hella boring... maybe 1 or 2 funny moments in the entire 7 hours of watching...
I am gonna sit down and read the manga some day when I catch up on some others I read in hopes that I can get to some point where it gets better (and then pick up the anime from there) since it's so praised... but currently it being well regarded makes about as much sense to me as gangnam style being the most popular video on youtube.... I just don't get it at all and don't see why it's talked about at all.

i remember gintama in anime ..i honnestly went it hoping to watch 12 eps and i stopped after ep 3 ( i was just THAT bored )..
Then much later i continued and went up to ep 12.
I thought that was better but still not it ..

Weeks later i went up to ep 25 and it was alright , and then after that i couldn't stop
Gintama has a massive increase in quality you'd wonder if the team that made the first 20 eps and the rest of the anime is different.

Gintama is one of those anime that need time..even characters i hated at the start ( sa-chan , shinpachi , katerine ) i now enjoy them. BUt damn if each of their start as characters wasn't rough.

In what other show is a gross bug thing super moe and shy and a main character falls in love with it?

I could see most things not named Elizabeth growing on me eventually... but man I am already sick of Elizabeth and would like it to never show up again.

I honnestly thought Elisabeth was unnecessary during a lot of episodes but most of the time she was harmless.

Just watched the Toradora OVA which I didn't know existed until today and then rewatched some of the episodes. Dem feels man. I just looked up the author and saw that they have another series called Golden Time. Is that one worth watching and does it measure up to Toradora?

Opinions are mixed. I liked it though the people who don't aren't exactly unjustified.

not really... but to be fair I can't think of any show where an asshole secretly paints puppies... pets and loves puppies sure... but paints o.O

the guy can be a jerk at times, but in general he has a good heart and shows it.

You guys are crazy.

Well the direction there taking with the MC is making him feel apathetic towards everything. But as he increasingly interacts with the cast his character will grow. He'll start learning more about caring for others and that death shouldn't be taken for granted. Which is great way to see his character development and for him to have more depth. So he won't be a blank protagontist. But one that has grown through struggles with his friends further in the movies. Its even shown at the end of the first movie. With Makoto smiling.

I was just saying out of the P4 and P3 adaptions the P3 movies will be much better. With the first one being already better.

Live action Ao Haru Ride.

I'm not sure why, but I continue to struggle to appreciate live action versions of anime/manga. I think its purely how unlike the live action versions look in comparison. And maybe how it sounds. Maybe what I need something where the voice actors were cast in the actual live action version.

Neogaf has made me never want to purchase and play Bravely Default, and that's one of the games that originally got me to buy a 3ds.

Yeah keep on watching you haven't even seen the final form of Gintama. Joking aside continue it because you dropped it right where it starts getting good. It may be a slog in the beginning, but its so freakin worth it. And you haven't even reached where the best girl is introduced, Tsukuyo.

The manga gets into legit soap level drama. It's so duuuuumb but I kind of love it. I don't think the show will reach that point with 10 episodes though.

The only live action version of something that also has an anime I've watched is the toku version of Sailor Moon, which, wonky effects aside, had the strength of its writer behind it. (Kobayashi's great.) But I agree, something always feels kind of weird about seeing these characters in live action. I had the same reaction to the Haganai movie or the Higurashi movies. I may check them out some day, but as a curiosity more than anything else.

Plus as far as AHR goes, my Maaya Uchida fanboyism is the primary reason I'm watching it. And the movie will not have her in it.

Both anime are more or less aimed at established fans. Golden kind of expects you to be familiar with Golden's structural changes. I recommend neither unless you have beaten the game, which is better at telling its story and let you in on the references the anime makes.

Watch the original tv anime of P4 and then watch Golden.

Golden in anime is not meant for people who haven't played the golden game or seen the first anime.If you're not playing the golden game then start at the beginning.
Watching either anime is NOT recommanded unless you've beaten the game BTW

You could, but you still need to be introduced to the characters and know their basic information/archetype. You could still learn that by watching the other episodes as characters are recurring, but eh. I still wouldn't recommend it. It'd be like skipping Clannad to get to AS.

This episode was focused on seiji , but overall was funny enough .

HIme does sell the show with her poses , her attitude and her fake tsundere attitude , it really worked here !

Because the jokes relying to the familiarities for the big cast, these 25 eps are "boring" because they introducing character after character before running with the reoccuring jokes.

For example the biggest running jokes on the series is one of the character become homeless man, you will see his transformation become even bigger hobo during the show and stuck with his nickname, you won't get the gimmick without knowing the intro.

You kinda need the world building and the introduction to each character. After all it's a post war feudal japan that got invaded by aliens . So many things are to be made clear and introduced.
