This was a more entertaining battle than the last because we got to see more backstory of the two characters throughout it and more about what went into the cooking. Also helps the who is gonna win is up in the air because the MC himself isn't a part of the battle.

Just when I was thinking the over the top stuff had been a bit low key so far, JoJo comes to the rescue. It's a shame about the reduced episode count for this season, but I'm glad it still keeps delivering on the most enjoyable aspects.
It didn't really dawn on me how much I've missed this show until I was exposed to it yet again.

Wait, Erina's secretary is supposed to be someone?
Like, holy shit, I always saw her more as just an extension to Erina. She's literally anime girl model A design wise and this is the first time she's had any real hint of a personality. And yet she beats Stalker girl out of nowhere, a character who at least has some potential to be fun?
I don't know why it bothers me so much, but man like half the episode just feels like a waste since it focused on her. I really hope, if she makes it through, she goes against Megumi or any character that I actually want to see grow, because as an obstacle she's an untextured wall. She feels like a video game spin off OC sidequest villain.

This is something that potential final bosses say when you meet them mid-game. Also the salt from losing in a Major Fighting Game Tournament Top 8. Alice wants that salty runback money match! Finally she gets a mad face with her menacing red eyes instead of the pout Alice face, lol.
Very good to see that Megumi keeps her composure and continue finishing her ramen. And LMAO this match turned into serious thuggery with the MENACING and RUMBLE poses. This after the old man stood there and turned into Joseph Joestar.

You can certainly redo CG animation just as you can redo 2D animation. I recall Mekaku City Actors had a notable scene which had atrocious CG in the broadcast version and was redone to look slightly less bad in the BD version.
But expecting an entire show to be redone is folly. None of the animation staff who worked on the Berserk movies are working on this new Berserk TV series, so even if GEMBA ends up doing some touch-ups for the BDs it's not going to look like the movies.

Trails in the Sky Second Chapter
What am I doing?
I've finished chapter 1 yesterday (what an amazing climax btw) and all I've done since then was playing poker and blackjack in the casino (and occassionally fishing) instead of going to the next region.
I now have around 90k medals, and the most expensive thing in the casino costs 1k. Yay?
Wasn't bad at all. Cool powers and action, an interesting (but also very LNy setting), an entertaining cast and an amazing soundtrack.
Could have been way worse.
Let's see where this is going

Well this was kinda rubbish.
The episode started with an alien invasion, and earth getting mostly destroyed, and then it fast forwarded into the future where out MC was part of on one of the three academies tasked with earth defense. Nothing really original for an LN. Everybody in this show is so carefree and goofing around even though they are supposedly fighting for their survival. The episode was mostly focused on the interactions of the 3 schools , with the alien invasion delegated to background plot. Don't really like the MC, and his i hate friendship and only need myself shtick, so i'm gonna drop it for now. Also the visuals are kinda meh.

I had my misgivings at the first 8 minutes, but after the introduction of the other cast members I was on board with this. Cool powers and the rest of the goofball cast work well with the overly serious MC.

Well, that was very engaging. I really like the camera work and special effects, barely even felt like puppets. I will admit I was a bit creeped out by the way they look but towards the end of it they had more character to them to the point that I got over the creepiness.
Narrative wise, it doesn't feel like anything new:

I'm at the same point in the game, actually, although I've only gambled enough to get the book and fishing rod in the casino. The odds are balanced in your favor I've found, so it's quite easy to rack up the medals. I understand towards the end of the game you're able to freely roam around Liberl and the casino at that time adds new prizes, so your haul may come in handy eventually.
I don't want to turn this into the Trails OT or anything, but I do have to just mention how impressed I am at the amount of writing detail that's gone into this game. Second Chapter is even more impressive with the reams of dialogue, much of it optional, it pours forth to flesh out the various characters. An insane amount of work went into this.

Gen Urobuchi is on scripts and the people producing it know what they're doing. That usually equates to amazing.

How fitting that we find out about the parentage of our Ginga-Bishounen without any involvement of his own. And since we're seemingly on the moment where shit will start going down, let me state that it was infuriating how none of the main trio ever asked any important questions like "Hey Takuto, why did you really come to this island", "Why do you have our super duper glittering mark and access to Tauburn and didn't even seem slightly surprised when that zero thing happened ?", "Why are you searching for your father ?", "Why don't you ever ask about that maiden/zero time/seal thing or the brigade of the comical villains that assault you in every episode and just what is their goal ?" , "What is that you're actually doing to find your father ?" "How fucking dumb are you ?"
With main trio absolutely refusing to discuss anything important and with Glittering dumbasses being allowed to spell only vague allusions about their goal" this is an Eureka tier level of protagonist inaction and deliberate and artificial obfuscation of information from the viewer.
And wow, with that villain reveal, the Utena similarities go further than I expected at the beginning.
