Summon Night 5 |OT| Swordcraft Strategy

Got my email.

That's a slow ass email server.

Also I was going to continue my SN5 playthrough soon so the fix on PSN is much appreciated. While I'm often a bit negative and I think the campaign could have went better, I still really like the game :)

Seriously, dude? I'm in Europe, there is no such thing as a system where Europeans are in a 2nd tier.

Oh. Sorry, I missed the part an European said he had gotten the email -- from this thread alone it seemed no one this side of the world had received it. I guess Lain is right on the money and it's just email server lag.

I'll update this post when I receive mine in case anyone wants to compare receiving times.

edit: speak of the devil, just got mine. Now I feel silly. My apologies for the dumb comment, everyone. For comparison sake, I use Gmail and it did not end up on the spam folder.

I'm assuming it could happen relatively soon (if they have any intention of releasing it in Europe's PSN) now that they've gotten the physical version out of the way & thus have a further patched/bug-fixed version of the digital version as well. Early digital NA version playing peeps were beta testers. :P

Why wouldn't they? I've been waiting and wondering why this hasn't popped up yet.

Will buy if only to show support for the series cause I want to see the other games released in the west as well.

So I see no way to actually check the version on the store (on my Vita or via the store interface on PC and I don't have access to my PS3 right now) , I just downloaded on my Vita and it says 1.01 . Has the update gone up yet ?

ETA - No, it hasn't. Just cross checked with my PSP which I downloaded to last year, it still says 1.01 as well.

It's a substantial investment of both time and money to publish the game in another region. I doubt it's worth it in the case of a PSP game tbh. The UMD release is region free and can probably still be ordered from VGP.ca.

That's just not an excuse I buy anymore these days. When the tiniest 1-person indie dev can release a game worldwide (even simultaneously), I'm sure Gaijinworks can.

The cost of making it available in 15+ more countries is marginal compared to the cost of localization.

Not everyone still has a PSP either.

It's a little different when it's the IP of a massive company like Bamco, and there's licensing to consider.

And seeing how Crisis Core and the DJ MAXes are still UMD only, everyone should still own a PSP. :P

This game has hecka bugs. I love it but I've had to restart like 4 maps so far. How many playable characters are there? I don't want to use some of these characters if I don't have too.

I agree with Yian. I mean, it's not out where I live, despite our store being directly integrated with the US one and us getting the same filler indie releases here every week. I think it's a case of "the game is done and out, you do your thing and find a way to play it, my job is done" kind of move.

Try to avoid distributing skill points on the pre-battle screen and you should avoid most of the buginess. Yeng's skills can cause crashes sometimes but I never experienced that bug, so I guess I was lucky.

By the end of the game, 10.
11, no?

1. Arca/Folth
2. Kagerou/Dyth/Pariet/Spinel
3. Abert
4. Yeng-hua
5. Calis
6. Souken
7. Cyda
8. [Chapter 4]
Ruelly
9. [Chapter 8]
Torque
10. [Chapter 13]
Atosh
11. [Chapter 13]
Exela

... Give or take a chapter at the end there. That's when their first night-time chats were available, they might have joined the chapter before? I can't quite recall.

But yeah, you don't have to use all of them. You probably will want to use more of them once you get further in though, they excel at different things, so you'll have more options in battle.

Is there any way to unlock all of the night talks and endings without playing the game again? I want to see that stuff but have zero desire to play this game twelve more times.

Night Talks yes, Endings no.
You can create an in battle save just before the final blow in any fight, then reload for each character for the night talks.
For the endings you're stuffed. You can, in theory, get multiple characters to 3 stars at which point you can make the final night talk selection multiple times and just fight the final boss again, but chances are once you beat the final fight you might not want to go back and do it again straight away.
(Or well, once I'd beaten it the last thing I wanted to do was go back and try it again. I decided I'd have more luck on NG+ as I'd probably be higher levelled by the time I get back to it - in NG+ you get an xp bonus and don't have to spend points on skills you unlocked the first time around)
I understand if you have 3 stars you you can't get the "best" endings for characters on the final night though. I thought you couldn't actually get to 4 stars before then, but I'm told I was wrong and if you're extra single-minded devoted in pursuit of a character you can, and then you'd get a better ending for the character in question. I haven't done that yet, but in that case, yeah, you'd need to replay many times over to get those ends for everyone.

Thanks for the info. I at least know how to get past the skill bug now, yengs attack crash happened in one level but it doesn't seem to do it anymore on in rematch so maybe its fine.

So is the patched version up on PSN yet ? Can't download and check myself right now (have some other downloads eating my bandwidth) but since the store updated yesterday I figure it should be by now.

I managed to find a mini one, so that brings me to my final question hopefully.

Does this game have any costumes? I see some in the artwork and I saw that the japan version supposedly came with a code to make the 2 main leads look like aty, but I can't seem to find any in game picks or vids of them.

None that I know of.

Version 2.0 is up. I couldn't figure out how to apply an update to a PSP game on the Vita, so I just redownloaded the game from the Store and it replaced the old version.

Thanks for the heads up! I think there is no way to patch the game and redownloading is actually the only way.

Yeah, redownloading is the "patching" method for 99% of PSP games. You have a few odd ones out like LBP but that's it.
Luckily i read this post.
I was updating my game every 1 week but nothing changed.
Is there a webpage that list down current version of games available in PSN?

Does that really matter though? In the end we're all still waiting for Vic's confirmation.

Haven't we been waiting for months in any case? Like, for over half a year? Isn't this better than the radio silence he's been giving except for one update every two or three months?

Not to mention the
old
fact that this isn't a limited run, it never was. It's not something that only those who order will get, since both VGP and Play-Asia get copies for Gaijinworks games, every single one of them, enough to last over a year.

It's my fault that I get way too excited and order from Gaijinworks directly when it'd be cheaper and more reliable to order from VGP instead.

They're not getting the exact same product, are they?

Yes it does matter
I paid for this half a year ago, I should be first in line to get news and updates

Instead we get nothing

I mean if VGP gets copies next week, shouldn't ours already be shipped? Or do we get them later?

Let's not jump to conclusions. Your copy might still ship earlier. And you've been able to play your (digital) copy for months now. Putting the physical copy sealed on your shelves surely can wait a few days more, can it?
