Sunset Overdrive website - say hello to Fizzie! (Insomniac/MS/XB1)

Anyone else think this will be MS's new baby aka Titanfall in terms of hype?

Perhaps. We won't know unless a couple of months after release there is a glorified "Sunset Overdrive SUX"( under a classier titles of course like "Did Sunset Overdrive live up to the hype" or something to that effect) thread, where people who don't own it bitch about it or every three posts tell us how "everyone they know have stopped playing it." When a game gets that much hate long after release, you know the devs did something right! :P

Seriously though i would hope they push this game as they did Tiitanfall, one of the major gripes with MS last gen was how they didn't push certain other exclusives as hard as they did their biggest games at the time( Halo and Gears). Hoping MS puts a large focus on Quantum Break as well closer to release.

can't help but feel it'll be a mid-range franchise, sort of how Killzone & Sly Cooper are for Sony. It's great for a few million units, but I'm not feeling like it's a game-changer. The zombie genre is kind of saturated right now, though I love this take on it.

I think the platforming will add a lot to it if done right. One of the things that make TF so damned fun to play is the platforming/parkour/traversal( all that game needs is a slide move) moving across rooftops at great speed, with zip lines etc.

Sort of. It has quite a lot of promise going forward, but I can't help but feel it'll be a mid-range franchise, sort of how Killzone & Sly Cooper are for Sony. Oh boy.

that might not have been the best idea, fizzie

I am a huge fan of insomniac but i just can't see the appeal of this game. Hope my mind changes with some extensive gameplay footage.

It is there new baby, and even if Microsoft don't show it all of their games are their babies. Insomniac has a great record (even though some seem to think they don't). They have awesome engineers, game design people, and artists, I would bet big on this game if I was Microsoft.

Fizzie don't play. Fizzie don't give a single fuck. Fizzie will fuck your woman, take your house and convince your kid to call him daddy when it takes him to buy toys and ice cream

Thursday, please hurry. Does anyone know if they'll have screenshots of the game, or is it just going to be a text article? Either way still excited to see what the hell this game is about.

Read two posts above yours (or basically anything jstevenson says).

Yup, definitely buying even if I don't have an Xbox One.

I really hope this game has a limited edition with a plush Fizzie. I would be ALL over that!

YOU HEAR ME MR. STEVENSON?!

Can't wait to see some gameplay or at least have some other details on the game. Part of the reason I got an Xbone was for this, though that sorta feels silly to say based solely off that one trailer.

That Fizzie twitter account has had me chuckling most of the day. Love it.

"On paper this looks amazing", etc...

Have we gotten more info than the cinematic trailer shown at E3? I can sort of understand the hype due to the art direction and perhaps Insomniac's record, but does anyone have some gameplay write-ups?

Considering they already made a physical drink to market it, are having at least 4 real "launch parties", and have a rumored console design after it, I'd say they are going all in on this.

Lots of talk about Ratchet-like weapons, Skill based platforming, fun first...... honestly sounds like a platforming GTA with a cartoon cover and 3d platforming

They did a Q&A on Twitch shortly after last E3. Thread here (with a summary in the OP). No real concrete gameplay details, though, beyond the very basics (third person, emphasis on traversal, etc).

Other than that, they've been in stealth mode up until last month's edge teased the article in the upcoming issue.

So we can't just be excited for new IP from well liked developer. No need to be negative Nancy

Nice co-sponsorship with Coca-Cola, good job Microsoft and Insomniac.

(Awaiting gameplay blitz even though the Sexburger thing is a bit on the nose.)

This game imo looks the best for the year. It's unique, refreshing, and with an awesome art style to it that is missing from MANY games.

This is some of the smartest marketing I've ever seen. Create a give no fucks twitter handle set to a character in your game and let it just go to town. Some of the tweets have been glorious.

#ShouldaDrankOverCharge

These things can actually be pretty 'dangerous' as far as marketing goes....one bad joke can move very quickly and get people fired just as fast
