I think its just gonna be a harmless kids animated movie like Detective Pikachu that will make millions of dollars at least, fanboys on the internet will be divided but it should have some fans

If you are genuinely asking, it is because big money tie in for their "Nintendo" theme park that NBS / Universal (illumination) has opened in Japan and opening in the USA.




For real though, a lot of negativity here. I agree with criticism about… one of the casting decisions… for an actor that… is very obnoxious.

But what I will also say is that illumination has a DARN good track record. Sing, Grinch remake (very good, IMO), and that's not even touching on the heaviest hitter - Despicable Me / minions. They have others, almost all their stuff is successful.

I have faith in them to do it well.

This is super random but I was eating at inn and out burger this weekend and I overheard a little girl with a Luigi doll telling her parents how excited she was for the Mario Movie this holiday and all I can think about is how crushed she is going to be. LOL
