Yes! Gotta press that P switch really quick. There was a mushroom there? I only made it to grab the left question block and it was only a coin haha. It was cool

just finished my third level, 'A Song of Ice And Fire'

would love some feedback for this, had a blast working on it.
btw thanks to everyone who hasn't only been posting levels but also critiquing other people's creations, whether it is in here or on miiverse. this loop of trying out a whole bunch of levels, giving feedback and simultaneously reflecting on one's own design philosophy is not something you get to do everyday, i feel, and it is immensely valuable.

Do we have a spot to put all of GAF stuff yet? The nintendolife thing is nice and all, but doesn't seem that easy to search.
Hate to be that guy but can we get a Mario maker level share thread. The OT is getting blasted with levels from users.
up to the castle set and just unlocked being able to see mario's trail
oh, i wanted to put a 1-up in there but it fell out when i was redecorating that part, whoops! the right block contains a leaf which is the only power-up in the level. while i'm really happy with how the sub-area aka the tetris screen turned out, i think i also prefer doing the level as small mario myself.
my stance on this has been the following: i'll try and put the really good stuff in the community showcase, for the other levels, people can follow gaffers in course world. they have to put in an id of theirs sooner than later if they wanna play a stage so if they just follow the creator, they'll have a complete list of their levels readily available for playing. i'm not sure who would use a complete database of gaffer levels and how such a database would be used, especially if it's just a collection of numbers and letters. also, it'd be more work since you would have to put in the code for every level you played (instead of putting in one and following the creator).
if someone wants to make a google doc, they should definitely go ahead. i'm just not sure what purpose it would serve. a list of creators with a sample level id to search them by and follow them would make more sense, for example!
Made my first level.
Let me know what you guys think!

Perhaps level design just isn't for you, then? It's a pretty niche thing.
Quite possibly. I definitely don't find it bad by any metric. I was just hoping this would trigger something deep inside of me to go on a tear and create stuff. Just hasn't yet.
Yeah, nothing's unlocking for me and I've used all the beginning tools available for the past several hours. Getting kind of irritated, think I would have just preferred doing the clock trick.

#1 - Use every new item once
#2 - Once you've done that, spam blocks for 1-2 minutes
Just beat itreally interesting maze you made there. Although i'll admit it did try my patience more than a few timesGot an error connection of course -_-
Edit: Not aginst you, but this level really demonstrated to me how much I hate the despawn mechanic in this game, had to restart a few times due to despawn
I am. One of my levels is in the second post of the thread.
Make sure you've placed one of every item in your level then just scribble in you level with ground blocks for a minute or two to trigger the shipment.
Spam a bunch of blocks or items you can fill up the level with.
Then your next shipment should arrive "earlier than expected' by truck.
Then use those new items a good amount and the cycle will repeat.
If you play with all your assets long enough, the truck will come early. Usually takes about 15-30 minutes of playing around.
I look forward to playing your mega man inspired courses.
Keep creating and it'll say the truck arrived earlier.
Play this and give me some feedback.
I think this might be a think that either only makes sense to me or is super baby easy and uninteresting.
The first part is the hardest actually. I wasnt sure how to deal with the piranha plants + the red koopas in that pattern. The star last long enough to reach the goal, I'm guessing you were suposed to get a hat to go through all the Thwomps?
Was wondering where that was, seems like that should be a default feature. Phan you never completed my Whirly Challenge!
Jump for your life, Samus!

Thank you! Maybe the error connection was because I deleted the level and re-uploaded it? I noticed a flaw in my level that needed to be changed. Did the one you play involve 2 koopas or only one?

My first musical stage, the theme from Super Mario Land on Game Boy!
I'm really proud of it, it took a long time to make.

Also, just for informational purposes...I went through and checked what sort of sound you get from music blocks with each falling object I could test. I might not have gotten all of them, and my ear for instruments isn't always the best, but here it is:
It's a shame that some of these instruments would be nigh unusable in a music playing level since they behave oddly, would keep triggering the same block over and over, etc. The most functional ones are the ones I used for my level, stuff that sits still like munchers and fire flowers. The clown car sounds really nice but I think it'd be too bulky and floaty to use. Likewise, Bowser Jr.'s sax which you could only ever play 3 notes on.
ok I beat it! haha
not being able to wall jump once you commit to a copter spin was messing with me
