Super "NeoGAF Arcade Stick Thread" II TURBO

Originally I was gonna order a the Madcatz branded TE2, but after reading about some issues people had with it on SRK as well as here on Gaf, I decided to go with the HRAP4 Kai instead.

If MadCatz comes out with that new TE-S+ and it supports both PS3+PS4, I may get one of those. The TTT2 TE-S+ was one of my favorite sticks Madcatz did. I kinda regret selling it, but I had way too many sticks at the time.

Pictures not working for me ^^
I'm not sure why they keep disappearing. Is NeoGAF rejecting/removing them?

Either way, here is a link to my modified HRAP4 Kai: http://i4.minus.com/ibmAGqgJlbf50a.jpg

Buttons replaced with Sanwa OBSF-30s (options button replaced with a Sanwa OBSF-24) and the joystick replaced with a Seimitsu LS-32-01.
The button colours mimic the Xbox button colours to help remind me which Playstation buttons correspond to which Xbox buttons.
I have to mention that the Sanwa OBSF-30 buttons are extremely tight fits while the Sanwa OBSF-24 button is a pretty loose fit.
The Sanwa buttons are also smaller than the kuros so there is a slight gap at the bottom of each button. (You might be able to see it in the picture.)

So I'm thinking about going to Evo this year. I want to get in on a bunch of limited stuff like Sanwa wood balltops, that white TE2, etc.

I've never been, so can anybody tell me how hard it is to get this stuff? Like will it sell out the first day/hour/etc?

Make sure you have the right tags to display pics properly. If that's not it, then try a different hosting site. I like imgur.

The PS3/PS4 TE2 had been on Amazon US as "pre-order" with a placeholder date of July 30. It surprisingly shipped over a month early and got here 2 days ago. Now it's showing as currently unavailable due to being "under review". I haven't started using it yet(waiting on some mods to come in). Does anyone know what's going on with this? I'm wondering if there are some big problems and I should keep it in the box for now to ship it back. I can't find anything from searching.

I just ordered my Hori Fighting Edge! The White 360 one.

Will us it on PC and I am very stoked, it is my first stick and will use it for a long time hopefully!

Have the Qanba folks said anything about a PS4 stick yet? I need a new stick, but I'm trying to hold out until they do one due to response time issues with MadCatz sticks. It's either that or do a frankenmod of my Hori FC4 and Tekken madcatz stick (which has awful response time)

Mad Catz and NewEgg all have it in stock so I doubt it's a big deal. Maybe they were shipping the USF4 versions out when people were ordering the regular?

Not arcade stick related but I figure markman might answer here since he pops in. My girlfriend tried ordering a FREQ TE headset while the items were 40% off. It looks like the order was cancelled because of suspicious card activity. Is there anyone or way she can contact someone to re-order them and receive the discount or is she SOL?

I just got a sega HSS-130 in mail and one of the bolts that keep the faceplate was missing because the nut came off inside the stick. So looking for a replacement bolt anyone have any ideas?

Also what is up with the MCZ store? Every order I've made gets popped for suspicious card activity

a bolt is a bolt is a bolt. trace the hole on a piece of paper and hit up Home Depot

Bring the nut and bolt to your local hardware store and ask them to fetch you an identical replacement set. Shouldn't be hard to find. Or alternatively, take one out of an old stick. From the picture it looks to be identical to the ones used in my Hori RAP EX.

So I'd like to use sticks with a Dreamcast.

Was the easiest way to get them?

Mod a TE with a PS360+ board?

And I guess finding P360s to use with MvC2 is next to impossible, right?

You can also use a MC Ctulhu board, as it supports a few more systems than the PS360+ and costs a bit less.

I've been meaning to mod a stick for Dreamcast compatibility for actual years. VF3 on pad is such a nightmare.

I'm looking for a PS3/PS4 stick (mainly for PS4) for MKX, Guilty Gear, and SFV...

Do you guys think there will be new sticks being announced at EVO or at least sales on TE2 and stuff? I'm definitely going to wait since it's only a few weeks away but I hope I don't break my DS4s by then.

So I bought a Standard Edition SF4 stick for PS3 that was modded with a Cerebus PCB upgrade board to allow the stick to switch between PS4/PC mode and PS360 mode. Question: Is there a reason for PC games to have the A/B (O/X) and X/Y (square/triangle) buttons flipped? I can't even remap with the stick in SF4 (where this problem is) and Ikaruga seems to have the stick in a constant "hold up" button if the stick is plugged in.

Is it something to do with the 1.01 Cerebus driver Windows 8/8.1 installed when I plugged the controller in? The person that sold me the stick honestly doesn't know.

Hey guys, if I take the stick out of my MC TE1 stick and plop it into the HRAP 4 Kai, will it work ok? Is it just a matter of using the same connection leads that currently plugged into the Hayabusa stick?

GAF I need advice, I just picked up USF4 on PC and am currently playing with a PS4 controller, but it's not super comfortable, I'm looking for an entry level stick that will work on PC, I live in Aus so if possible something from an AUS retailer would be preferred, or if I have to go international something that doesn't charge heaps for shipping.

Also as a side question, I'm playing ranked games online, but so far every person I have versed has quit right after the first round.... Is there a reason they are doing this? I'm actually losing the rounds and at this stage I dont have any of the BP or rank what so ever.

So I opted to attempt a cthulu mod on my original custom stick. When I had it built originally it was only 360 compatible. I don't really play my 360 anymore and going forward, I certainly won't be playing Street Fighter on it.

Since my intent is really only play Street Fighter I'm hoping this works since iblike my custom better than the off the shelf options. I'm assuming it'll be plug and play on ps3 and will work for ps4 games that have the driver support for ps3 sticks.

I'll know tomorrow if my efforts prove successful.

So how do you guys justify getting a second stick? I got my Q4 back in August and have been using it heavily. I want a stick for PS4 and having a second would be fun when my friends/family come over to play games with. But i'm hesitant about dropping $150-$200 on another stick.

Backup is case primary stick breaks- or wait for a Black Friday sale. Once got a stick for $50.

Anyone know of anywhere I can get plexi for a Hori RAP4 Kai? I've always bought from Art's Hobbies in the past, but he doesn't off one currently.

Might be worth looking around for a cheap old 360 stick on Gumtree or something. I picked up a HORI EX2 a few years back which served me well. It gets no use these days after I picked up a Madcatz TE, but it did the job as a basic intro stick.

I've got a question though. I have been looking into getting a PS4 stick, and it looks like none of them have the mic/headphone port that the Dual Shock 4 has. I currently use a wired headphone/mic setup for chat with friends online, but is there any way to use this while playing fighting games with a stick?
The only solutions I've seen about involve a USB wired headset to the console, or buying a new PS4 specific wireless headset which I'd prefer to avoid.

So it's pretty annoying that my $200 Xrd TE2 has no touchpad button for use with features in USF4 like showing input display in training mode and remapping buttons on the character select screen.

Come to think of it, what would people have even done if USF4 for PS4 had become the new tournament standard as was planned originally? Everyone with a TE2 would be fucked.

Markman, is it even possible to ever somehow rectify this for all the people who bought TE2's?

There's not anything they can do with existing hardware. Only chance is some kind of software patch in USFIV to provide a work-around, like say hold down options instead.

Hopefully their future products have a touhpad button, though.

I cry everytime I remember I had to cancel my preorder for the Xrd Hori stick :(

It has everything.

Got a used USF4 TE2 from Amazon and am surprised how the plexi slides a bit. I guess this is just how it is for all the current TE2?

What are those command list doodads which go on candy cab control panels called, and is there a place that has an archive of them? I'm looking for one for Virtua Fighter 3.

Hi Stick Gaf

Question that I am sure has been asked a million times but please don't hate me...

I have a 360 SFIV CE MadCatz stick that I bought when I was obsessed with SFIV. I've since packed my 360 away and this gen gone PS4. Is there a way to convert my stick so that it will work on PS4 ready for SFV or for SFIV Ultra? I am a complete tech idiot so any guidance gratefully received.

I think you can use a Chronus Max adapter to use 360 controllers on PS4, but I haven't heard that many positive things about it from the competitive scene.

Other option would be to gut a Hori Fighting Commander 4 and wire the PCB into your stick.
