Yes, PS4 updates can still break Brook compatibility. The last couple times it has happened Brook had an update out within 48 hours to restore functionality. I may be wrong but I think it's only happened twice.
Some HRAPs come with the Hayabusa/Kuro setup and some with Hayabusa stick and buttons. If you are used to Sanwa I think you'll like the Hayabusa stick. Personally I am not a fan of the Kuro buttons. To me, they feel like the jank MCZ knockoffs that they put in their SE sticks. I can't speak to Hayabusa buttons as I've never used them but I've heard very favorable comparisons to Sanwa.
