Super "NeoGAF Arcade Stick Thread" II TURBO

I can finally join the master race of fightstick owners :) (Well, I did own the TvC stick a few years ago but had to return it). I've always loved the design of this stick and since it's no longer sold in stores, I was able to grab it for MSRP! It was in like new condition too!

I remember seeing FEMME FATALE TE at frys few years back but didn't bite because i thought $150 was "too expensive" for a gaming peripheral.

le sigh, 13 sticks later.

Hi everyone,

I've recently switched over to a Sanwa silent stick from a Seimitsu LS-32. The Sanwa spring is too light for me and feels very...sloppy on execution. I liked the feel of the medium spring in the Seimitsu, and I'd like to get a spring like that for the Sanwa. I've tried a lot of suggestions from SRK and YouTube videos (buying a package of springs from Home Depot, "doubling up" the spring from the LS-32 and the Sanwa) and nothing seems to work. Is there a legitimate medium spring for the Sanwa? Or is there a foolproof way to make the spring more stiff? It's driving me nuts.

Thanks!

Can someone here point me to a website where I could buy TE panel replacements? I mean the metal panels, not the plexiglass.

Also, do any of the multi-console PCBs support Wii remote connectivity? Like, for use with Wii U, which has no GameCube ports.

Related, but would anyone know where to get replacement bottom metal panels for TEs as well?

Try the Focus Attack site - they had metal and plastic replacement panels a while back.

No answers for the spring question? GAF, am disappoint.

just finished up a diamond vlx with ps360+ with rj45 detachable cables for a buddy.

Are the original 360 SFIV fighsticks(the cheap ones, not the TE stick) mod-able? I think I remember seeing a guide for modding them somewhere(probably SRK) a few years back.

I haven't used mine in the longest time but am getting back into Cave shooters recently, and it's now the only stick I have around. I'd like to swap in some decent parts if I can.

I tried to make a DIY fight stick, and it even worked for a while. Eventually started getting flakey, I suspect due to my inexperience with soldering, and the tiny goddamn solder points on the Xbox 360 controller's PCB.

Now that PS360 PCBs have become available to me from an Australian store, I've been tempted to go and sort my DIY stick out. I've got all the parts and everything. I kinda can't be stuffed though, since I have a damn nice SF4 TE stick that I doubt I could better.

I think the other big issue with a DIY stick, is that I'd be mounting it in a gutted Mayflash shell, which is hardly pretty to look at, and feels super cheap compared to my TE. Guess I'll have to go nuts with building a wooden enclosure, unless someone can recommend a reasonable place in Australia that could sell me a nice enclosure?

So yeah, that's my arcade stick story. Hi.

One of the easiest sticks to mod. Yes, you'll be good. There are quite a few guides out there as well.

The fierce button on my dual modded Mad Catz TE-S stick isn't responding 100% as of yesterday. Can someone please link me to the best tutorial for opening up my stick and fixing this? It's so annoying to keep losing games because the button press didn't register =/

I'm guessing that the wires connected to the button are becoming loose.

And does anyone have any tips for getting a ps3 stick to work on pc? I guess I just have a incompatible mobo :l

^ I'm not 100% sure, but I would imagine it'd just be a matter of downloading an appropriate driver, I'd expect every motherboard's USB ports to basically work in the same way.

Which ps3 stick you have? Any version before the Chun stick doesn't work on a lot of PC's period. Madcatz used some ancient ass host controller that only works on via chipsets, and some intel chipsets.

this is my next project :P

stick a PS1 innards in a Tatsunoko and use it on the NeoGeo! :D Bought 2 of those TvC sticks when they were 15$ a piece.

Quick question to all the knowledgable arcade stick owners:

I'm looking for a good premade arcade stick that will connect via USB for my PC. I don't care about 360 or PS3 functionality, just PC as I'm going to use this for MAME and emulators on my PC which is connected to my tv.

What's my best option (no more than 150 if possible shipped) that's premade? Thanks in advance.

All the pcb are sold out on focus attack, is there another place to buy them or another way to add ps3 to my 360 stick?

So all those sticks in your post would work without issue on a PC connected via USB?

Say something like this : MLG Arcade FightStick Tournament Edition for PS3

I think so. I've heard of people having problems with the PS3 PC drivers and stuff, so YMMV, but all the 360 stuff works perfectly. Only get an MLG stick if you don't mind being laughed at and having people yell "YO ESPORTS!" at you, though.

Yes, from what I hear every current gen stick works on PC regardless of whether it is the 360 or PS3 version (though you may want to go with the 360 version for easier dual-modding in case you end up going that route in the future). The issues running their sticks on PC were only for the 1st and 2nd generations.

Is it normal for the home button on a Fight Stick pro to not work? i bought a TE pro last month and the home button doesnt work :(

Something like that happened with mine. Sometimes it would turn on my 360 and sometimes it would not. Sometimes it would turn the 360 on and then shut itself off. I bought it on Amazon, so I sent it back and got one that works.
