Happy Holidays!

If you have a dpdt switch you can use one cord for both the PCBs (assuming that the XB1 pad is common ground)

I do have a DPDT in the stick actually. However the XBONE pad requires extra resistors for D+ and D- and I just haven't bothered.

I will help you out.

There are ways to mod a PS3 stick to work on another console. You can use a 360 PCB chained through a Toodles IMP PCB. You can take the sorta easier way with the PS360+ PCB since wiring is a bit easier and very minimal soldering. There are a couple of videos on YouTube for installing the PS360+ to a PS3 TE stick specifically so you can still use the control panel.

cool thanks

Ah, i see. Rather strange though since D+ and D- would still be isolated using a DPDT switch. Is the PS3 PCB active currently (as in are the ground and +5v of both PCBs connected together)?

Yeah both boards have to be powered or you'll have issues with button inputs.

The extra resistors are just an xbone thing. If you wire directly to the micro usb connector or splice a micro usb cable you don't need them. If you solder to the D+ and D- points on the PCB you need them.

FYI, Hori sent out an email that they will be selling Hayabusa sticks and their proprietary buttons by themselves outside of Fighting Edge.

I am conflicted right now. Seeing the prices that the first 4 sticks ended at... I am really unsure if I should go for the one I want.

HMMM.

Yeah, those first ones did really great. I don't know your finances, but you can always take solace in the fact that you helped design such a coveted stick.

Yeah, crazy cool that those sticks go for so much. Real success there for all involved. I wonder what type of clientele are buying them.

I'm gonna keep the non-numbered sample (there are 2 in existence). We will probably raffle the other one off.

A big part of building the different databases is gathering the data itself.

Here is the SDTECHIN.COM Arcade Stick Database via google docs:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0ArVqGxnvaMiVdE5JT2NWbF96bTB3aXZIOGxyUHE1NFE&usp=sharing

Please feel free to comment/add suggestions in there. Right now only 3 people have access to editing the document. If there are any suggestions, please comment within the document or post a reply here. Please note that this is a work in progress and it will be filled out over time (especially since I will do an audit of my collection to add more sticks).

So you don't have to say "you're missing the VLX!" as chances are, I know and haven't added it just yet!

Thanks guys for reading. :)

Wowzers at those Capcom Cup sticks! I can't believe they went that high. They must have gone to some serious stick collectors.

Site sounds like it will be pretty cool, Markman. It'll be good to have a site with info on so many arcade sticks.

You guys should do a raffle where one can buy a ticket for $5 or $10 or something. Probably get more than the 3k for the stick...and give one of us lowly folks an outside shot of getting one.

Yes Boss! I thought about that, that's a great idea but I don't think we (as a company) can do that legally. It is considered gambling in our state.

An individual should be able to do that though. I might do that with the extra one just to help raise more funds for the charity. But MCZ can't do it officially or promote it :(

Double edged sword haha.

Ah, had not thought about that. I guess you guys should take it to one of the big tournaments and surely you could do raffle there, no?

Any word on Hori PS3 arcade sticks working on PS4?

Wondering if my PS3 Real Arcade Pro V3 SA KAI is future proof.

none of mine work :(

plugged in my HRAP V3 VF5 stick and the ps4 said it didnt recognize the device

both my VLX diamonds wouldnt even register (no lights or even onscreen message).

Have ANY sticks worked on the PS4? I have a couple different types I'd like to try but I don't have anything like Injustice to test them with.

Isn't the word about compatibility that it's a per-game basis? Killzone don't care about your arcade stick so it won't work, but Street Fighter V will likely support them. Or did I imagine this?

i never tried these on killzone...

it is a per game basis but i dont have injustice to try it out.

what i did was plug them see if i could move around the xmb (or whatever the new interface is called).

i'm still optimistic other games will get sticks to work but until then, this is all i have to go by.

I was kidding about Killzone. But the point I was making is that there is no software that would reasonably support sticks yet. I wouldn't trust Injustice to either.

It's not a stick, but I know a few people in here own the Project DIVA mini controller but might not read the Project DIVA thread. I posted this last night:

This has been a few months in coming, but after some info from hibachifinal confirming this was probably going to work, I ordered some parts from Akihabarashop. They finally came in today, and I did a thing.

To the left is what I hope will solve most of the issues with both the mini controller (pictured) and the arcade style F controller - switching out the 30mm button styled microswitch (as soon on the button to the right) with something a lot more rigid. In its place is a Sanwa OBS-M-1 switch assembly, with a microswitch style you'd expect to find in a pop'n music or IIDX controller button. I neglected to purchase new .187 quick disconnects, so in this picture I test fit the stock .110s by cutting a slit in the rubber shrink-tubing and slipping it over the edge of the contacts. It holds better than I would have thought, but it's by no means a secure fit... though I'm probably going to have to do something like this for the X and down buttons, which due to the support shaft being in the way don't have room for .187 disconnects to be slipped on unless I can give the disconnects a 90 degree bend first.

The difference is dramatic; instead of a complete lack of feedback with actuation before the button bottoms out, the new switch provides some more resistance, and a "click" you can hear and feel at the point of actuation. The downside is the point of actuation is now lower and the switch requires much more operating force to actuate, so short of drilling out the rivet and replacing it with switches requiring less operating force, this mod forces you to slam the buttons pretty hard, which also results in the controller making a lot more noise than before. The advantage, though, is that there should be absolutely no misfiring or stuck inputs like what can happen with the stock design.

I'm hoping to have all the buttons on the F controller fitted with these switches for MAGFest, which will be the real test; the F controller in particular has an issue where just slapping the top surface can trip a few buttons, which I'm hoping is a problem this will make go away.

Hi guys, I'm basically a newbie about arcade sticks, last year I bought a WWE Brawlstick (basically a MadCatz SE if I remember correctly) due to the low price and the fact that it's easy to mod with Sanwa parts. I've read a bunch of guides on how to mod it and which parts to buy, the main problem is that I don't know where to buy them from. I live in italy, is there any online store that I can use? Thanks

I don't live in EU but I'm being told arcadeworlduk.com and arcadeshop.de are viable options. The former might be a bit cheaper.

Just to throw some more confusion into a sub thread about the Otomedius stick:

Yeah, it is octo gate. I tried to find the photo from 2008 but I think that photobucket account is overloaded.

I just got this messaged to me over at shmups:

The reason you're unable to get real information on this, is because what's in the machine and what's in the stick are different. Machines came with octo gates from Konami. The sticks game with square gates.

That's two owners that attest it has a square gate and one owner that attests it has an octo gate... orz

What do you think about LIVE arcade stick show off competitions? Similar to the car show off competitions at Hot Import Nights! This is "Hot Input Nights" and the focus is arcade technology. Maybe this can be a thing at events? I think it'd be cool. :)

Maybe Hori/Konami mixed it up and different users got different things. They may be correct (perhaps). In any case a I dug up my photo from 2009. Octo it is!

Also, I believe this was my second stick ever and first theme stick so it has a special place in my heart!

Whoa - crazy that they "butterflied" the button switches like that, I've never seen that done o.O No heat-shrink tubing either, just a blob of hot glue!

I'm actually looking one for now, but more because I think it'll help solve a problem with the Project DIVA F controller's touchscreen when the sequel comes if I have the touchscreen in a more portable form to be able to send to someone...

Yeah, there is a lot of junk in there. I think they did that because it has a PCB on the floor. Lol, look at all thise ferite cores.

Doesn't your friend have one? I know I've seen it there. Maybe he will want to sell? I'm keeping mine...not my favorite stick but it means a lot to me as I started getting back into shooters with it and ordered my J-360 at the same time.

This came in the mail today.

I already have the cabinet version, but I wanted something more portable that didn't require removing my iPad from its case.

The button holes are 28mm. I'm going to drop in some Crown buttons so I don't have to dremel them out to fit 30mm Semitsu or Sanwa. The stock buttons are arthritis inducing garbage.

Word on the Touch Frcade forums is that a JLF is a direct replacement.

Followup for those interested:

And we have liftoff:

Stock .110 quick disconnects chopped off, .187 quick disconnects crimped, main 8 microswitches replaced. Left the L/R/Start buttons alone but maybe when I buy more parts I'll go back and do L and R too. Haven't had a chance to test with the game but it works fine testing with a PC and feels much more like an arcade controller now.

Also talking with some people about seeing what can be done about that touchscreen for F 2nd... anyone have a Hori Otomedius stick they want to sell me? .-.

Thoughts on new SDT logo possibility?

If you're unfamiliar with the color scheme, it is based off the Sega Astro City.
