I got to go there two weekends ago for their staff-only tech rehearsal, and it was SO GOOD! The park is bigger and better than the one in CA, and the Donkey Kong park is super cool, if not a bit sparse. (But some of the shops weren’t open yet when I went.) The mine kart rollercoaster was so good, big fan of that.

The Mario Kart ride is quite literally exactly the same as it is in CA and Japan (which makes sense, since it’s as much a video game as it is a ride).

I dunno. If anyone has any questions about the park, let me know. It was so much fun and I’m looking forward to when it opens.

I also visited the other four new parks in Epic Universe, and most of them were great too.

Did you get any food at Toads or DK land? Also can you get me one of those DK mugs. I will pay for it. :)

What's your deal?
That a theme part destined for kids have huge amount of manchildren going that refuse to grow up, because the current environment coddles them? It's fine to buy Kirby for your kids, or even play with them. It's another thing to do it as a 35-year old.

It's up to other people to choose what they do with their time and money. We are all on a video game forum, arguing about what people do with their own time and money. Video games in general are a toy, only kids play with toys.. right? I hope that puts things into perspective for you.

What are you talking about?
It's pretty obvious.

35 year olds enjoying video games isn't taking away from children's enjoyment of them. Unlike the theme park man children clogging up the lines at Disney.

You’re talking to the wrong guy. I don’t do theme parks unless my work is paying for it but I hate children and don’t give a fuck if they have to wait in line at Disneyland.

Food wasn’t open at DK land, but I got food at the Toadstool Cafe (and I’ve had every item from there in the CA park, as well). The offerings in the Florida park were identical to the CA Toadstool Diner, but the burger I got was actually much better in the Florida park. Specifically, the patty was actually properly seasoned in Florida, and it was pretty delicious.

The DK mugs, sadly, weren’t available yet. There’s a chance I might be going back to the park next week, and if they have those mugs, I’m definitely gonna try and get a couple so I’ll keep you posted lol.

I saw some stuff from How to train your dragon land, and it looks cool to have wandering dragons and cast all waiting for photo ops.

Misplaced aggression.
Oh speaking of those, they had one baby dragon that was actually one of those Boston dynamics robot dogs, only fully kitted out as a dragon. I don’t know anything about that movie, but holy crap that little robot dragon was AWESOME. It looked and moved freakishly lifelike.

The other dragons were giant puppet suits with humans inside, and they were also similarly impressive. But the robot dog dragon was wild.

Can You Imagine What SureAI Is Going To Do With Garfield?
Sadly, the rides seem kind of lame and Epic Universe has already got two rides better than Disney has had in a couple decades or so.

The DK mine kart rollercoaster, while incredibly fun, was definitely leaning more towards a “kid/family-friendly” coaster. It was still great, but the most thrilling aspects of it were the broken track segments throughout the track. When you see those coming up, even though the logic part of your brain knows they’re intentional, they REALLY make you feel like something went horribly wrong and you’re about to Rollercoaster-Tycoon yourself right off the track into an explosive death lol.

I imagine that effect will wear off the more times you ride that coaster, but the first time I rode it, my cheeks clenched HARD during those broken track segments.

The new coaster in one of the other parks, Stardust Racers, was a proper thrill ride. One of the best coasters I’ve ever been on, easily in the top-20, maybe the top-10. It was fantastic.

The Monsters Unchained and Ministry of Magic rides look absolutely amazing.

I appreciate this was posted in off-topic.

Some of the responses though...those should have been relegated to our off-off-topic section: (4chan)

Looks like I’m going back to Nintendo World (and Epic Universe) this Monday and Tuesday. I can’t take any pictures, but if there’s anything anyone wants to know or have me check out, lemme know.
