Super Princess Peach...$39?!?

What happened to $30 first party games for portables? Fuck you, Nintendo. I'm hesitent to buy games for my PSP at $40, like hell I'm going to do it when I get a DS.

My overall opinion of SPP is that there's not really anything wrong with it. The game is executed well. But there's nothing especially right about it either. When I was playing it I felt like I was going through the motions, and I got the impression that they were just going through the motions making the game as well.

I don't think many 2D gaming fans would be disappointed by the game, but its not going to turn up on best-of lists either. A perfect game to tide people over until Mario in May, though.

I pretty much agree. The game is done well but is not particularly interesting. There is a ton of stuff to collect, most of it optional, but it's hard to imagine anyone going through the trouble of playing the game that long.

Personally, I'm still looking forward to it, despite the easy difficulty.

And looking at the screenshots of this game around the net, I wish this game's art style, or something similar to it, was in NSMB instead. It looks so vibrant, charming, and consistently executed, with lots of the small graphic details that should keep this game looking good years from now.

Still screens look good, but the game is minimally animated. NSMB is so much better graphically, 2D or 3D.
I hear ya (and I don't want to get into it here too much since this has been beaten to death in other threads :)), but I was talking about the art style in particular, since I know the animation in NSMB looks good. I just think the art itself in NSMB is generic/bland and could look *that much better* if the art were more stylized/vibrant. Looking forward to both in any case. :)

Super Princess Peach just has to occupy me the five or so days it'll take to get my DS Lite and Children of Mana to my front door. Then, it can sit on the shelf.

Along those same lines, I thought the game had great music too, which was odd. There's one track I can't get out of my head. Very catchy.

That's good news! Really catchy game music seems to be a lost art as of late, and I love it when a song sticks in your head like that... I still have the Petal Meadows theme from Paper Mario 2 stuck in my head, months after having first heard it.
