Damn, that gif brings back some 64 memories.

Now that I think about it, they basically didn't give a shit about accurately representing a series, and just made a flat stage with some strategically placed surfaces and levels to encourage exciting play.

They should do that again.

Man I truly admire the crappy textures/sprites they used for effects in Smash Bros. 64. Even the Pokemon. They were easy to read from a distance and hit you the way you expect them to. They didn't care about how they looked; just how they worked.

N64 Meowth vs Melee/Brawl Meowth is a great example.
