There is a reason. Wario is the only character in the cast (barring Zelda's different artstyles) that has two main series that both represent him and has him in two different outfits.

Also, we don't know what Male Wii Fit Trainer is.

I assume a female/male rendition for WFT makes sense in that neither is more iconic/important than the other. I think the only Smash char that historically qualifies to the same criteria is Villager. (I assume we'll get a female villager for that reason)

A little off topic here (I tend to do this when I've been drinking a bit and got Smash on the mind) but I'd absolutely love if this 'full' Starman theme was somehow put into Smash Bros. It's a million times better than the full version melody that was used in 64 onward (G, G#, A, E, B. That one).

I love that samba shit. Kondo was a big fan of Brazilian/Latin music and it reflected in his earlier work. Even his Brawl rendition of the SMB ground theme was exactly how I invisioned it was supposed to be.

This wasn't Kondo though, was it? I know he liked using Samba and other latin beats, but I don't think he worked on this. Could be wrong though!

This also reminds me of how much I love Hip Tanaka's 6 Golden Coins soundtrack.

Kinda outta nowhere, but I think we might be getting a Pokemon veteran next week. Yoshi's New Island comes out in most regions next week, but in Japan, it still doesn't have a release date.

On the other hand, Pokemon Battle Trozei, however minor a title it is, is coming out in Japan on Wednesday. There are currently three likely Pokemon veterans unannounced for this game, so it's possible that we might be getting one of them then, especially since there are no other properly announced Pokemon games in the pipeline.

Yeah, that's why I'm hoping for Female Pokemon Trainer as well. I believe that she should fall in same criteria as well but I could be wrong.

You could also say that Mewtwo should be revealed so that people stop saying Lucario stole his slot.

Sakurai's still more likely to reveal Yoshi this month, though. Jigglypuff is too unique to be cut, unless Sakurai find another pokemon to replace her. And I think she wont be revealed before release.

And the only time the U.S. release date has been used for a character reveal was for Tropical Freeze, and that game was actually developed in the U.S. They didn't even do that when A Link Between Worlds came out in Japan a month later than the rest of the world.

Arzest is a Japanese studio, so odds are that we'll have to wait for the Japanese release, whenever that is.

I have a full time and a part time job and I still try to squeeze in time for smashGAF. It's actually one of my daily rituals for winding down at night. So what if I spend an hour constructing a character moveset, making up a roster, or photoshopping an image? I want to do what I want to do for fun.

but what you're implying is not only a character lock, but that also only one player can have any given character
which would have the funny side effect of limiting # of entrants to the # of characters

Isaac/Golden sun should in general be pretty easy to choose alts for if smash bros goes that route. Young Isaac/Adult Isaac/Matthew/Felix ,the last 2 being the other default earth element party members that, for the most part, have Isaacs main character role in the other games.
