The lateness amounted to nothing, not the update itself.

Wow...that Lucario vs. Jigglypuff discussion blew up, lol. I just want to say that I'm very aware of Jigglypuff's popularity. However, regardless of who is more popular between the two, Lucario has pretty much reached mascot status over the last few generations. He's a huge face of the Pokémon series now. Jigglypuff's still popular, yes, and she was pretty much a mascot of the series back in Generation I, too, but her relevancy has fallen a lot. She's only really somewhat back in the spotlight right now due to her new Fairy typing, but she's sharing that spotlight with a number of other Fairy-type Pokémon, too.
Jigglypuff may be more recognizable to the masses, but currently I really doubt she's more popular than Lucario among Pokémon fans. Of course, they're both deserving to be in Smash Bros. It's just that one is much more relevant than the other right now.

Pic of the day. Zelda's Din's Fire is now stronger in its core. The farther it's projected, the bigger and more powerful it will be, but you need to hit foes with the core if you want to make them fall.
Make them fall? As spike or knock back?

Sorry for the late reply, there is kind of a big difference between how Pikachu and Charizard are viewed as mascots and how Lucario is a mascot. Pokemon fans know who Lucario is. A much wider chunk of the population knows who Pikachu and Charizard are.
As for engineered fan-favorite, lots of Pokemon got their own movies. Lucario is special because he's a non-legendary who was the main featured Pokemon of his movie, one that he debuted in, no less. Lucario made its first public appearance in the spotlight, and a particularly large spotlight at that. It's a spotlight usually reserved for legendaries, previously established or not. In that sense, the same way that a show introduces new characters to garner interest in a spin-off, Lucario's fan-favorite status was engineered.
Not to say that it's a bad thing, but come on. His video game debut came out after Brawl's first trailer, even in Japan.

God damn, Pokemon ignorance shown again along with anti-Gen 1 hate some pages back. I really don't get why people who clearly don't follow the series talk about relevancy or a Pokemon being known.
Now I'm seeing "engineered" andBrawl coming out in 2006 apparently it matters that Brawl's trailer came out before Diamond Pearl.
Even if it debuted in a movie first, it really doesn't matter given the fact that people could have hated the Pokemon easily. See Zoroark's popularity as an example of it.

The word used in the beginning of the underlined sentence is げきつい(gekitsui) which to my knowledge is used to describe an aircraft being shot down. I'd probably translate the passage into something like 'Hit enemies with the core to take them down'.

The length of FD is the limit for Din's Fire in Brawl, so that is the biggest it can get in Brawl.

I can't ever see it being too powerful. Link's been bottom-tier in two games and low-mid in another for a reason.
Very good. Only other change I would like to the attack is being able to charge in midair, since that's how it's been in the games.

You guys just need to stop getting hyped when a post is late time and again its not late due to a major update but due to Sakurai being late. It just makes it harder for me to find the actual image because I have 5ish pages of "its happening" and "can't wait for nothing" post to sift through

There is a image in my OP that would automatically changed when Sakurai updated it but I should start to including the quotes in OP as well to make it easier for people to find it.
I still think people have right to hyping it up if they want to do that since it's a part of being fans. It may be annoying but part of SMASHHHH CYCLE.

You're better off going directly to the Smash Bros site. That's what I do if I want to look at the daily image on my phone. Or even Miiverse if the new image won't load on the site.
There's no justification for baseless hype and then whining about how it didn't meet up to the hype. And then doing this for months is just ridiculous.
I honestly remember the dojo more than I remember Brawl. I love smash, and I love these hype threads. The Miiverse is not better than this. Sorry to hear it's not for you.

Back in the Dojo day it was more fun to wake up, see the update, and see the reactions plastered all over GameFAQs. Probably because there is way less info on these miiverse posts but their isn't anywhere near the discussion that dojo updates had

He means "fall" literally. If you don't hit an enemy with the core of the flame, it's a flinch hit. They don't fall down. Hitting with the core causes the enemy to fall, much like what happens when you hit an enemy with a strong attack.
It's not neccessarily bad move in casual matches, but it's quite telegraphed, quie a few aerials can clank with it, and doesn't help her approach. It's at least in forcing opposing players with no projectiles to approach.

Green head band was always the best choice.
I'm conflicted on Jigglypuff's return. On one hand, she's been there since the start and it'd suck to not have her. On the other hand, she's certainly not as popular as people make her out to be and was one of the last characters added in Brawl.
I think this would look perfect as the Pokemon representatives, but I'm probably the only one who thinks this.
