There were a few people from the original #TeamReal trying to re-write history again.
Regardless of the quality of an unofficial source they normally turn out to be fake.

Bowser Jr. & Dark Pit would be the only real disappointments if this pans out. I don't think either are deserving over a multitude of characters from their own series, let alone many other IPs.
Still not believing it though. Hopefully we'll get our next confirmed character soon and we can but this to bed. (Or have a three week long slumber party.)

What happens if some people want to use Miis and other want to do random at the same time? That seems like a very realistic scenario. Are they just screwed?

If Duck Hunt works similar to Banjo Kazooie I am 100% for this. I like Bowser Jr. and think the clown car mechanic could be very different, but Mario is so over represented. Shulk is also a character a lot of people want and there seem to be different ways you could implement him.

Didn't notice that, but the thread moves so fast it's hard to keep up. I don't see how that has any connection to this leak anyway.

Bowser Jr. is not as deserving as a multitude of characters from their own series? Whom, then? Toad, okay, I'll grant you that one, but beyond that? Bowser Jr. has been a major antagonist since Super Mario Sunshine, especially in the NSMB series. I don't see who would be more deserving than Bowser Jr. from the Mario series, beyond Toad.

I remember years and years ago picking up a 'Secrets of Nintendo' book at Barnes and Noble's where it said Magikoopa was originally in Mario Kart 64 and that in Diddy Kong Racing Banjo was originally going to be a hound dog. All this talk of ' Duck Hunt Dog' and Banjo sharing similarities is tripping me out.

He can't jump, but that would be cool. Personally, I'd go with Toadette, Pauline (though she'd be DK) or a classic baddie like Goomba, Blooper, Boo, etc.
As for another Kid Icarus rep, there are tons of better characters to choose from, but I'd opt for a rep from a different series instead.

Over represented? That'd be 7 characters in a roster of 53 (assuming those empty spots would be filled out). That's about 1/8 of the roster. Definitely not something I would call "over represented", especially considering how enormously popular and big the Mario series is in comparison to other game series.
I'm rooting for Bowser Jr. due to his being cut from MK8 for no apparent reason.

If he was already part of the previous roster, I'd feel more lenient towards him probably. I just don't think he's the most interesting choice for a brand new addition.

Pic of the day. The treasure chests that appear in Smash Run are very important. Not only do they give you stat boosts, but they also give you custom parts (the bag on the right) and Smash Run powers (the bag on the left). You should pick these up and use them in the next battle!!
However, watch out for Mimicuties disguised as treasure chests. Run away! RUN AWAY!!
I'm just sad that this leak is most likely fake because Duck Hunt dog is one of those really far-fetched choices that just make the Smash universe so great and full of surprise, like Ness in SB64 (to the American audience), G&W in Melee and ROB in Brawl. I guess Wii Fit Trainer fits that category though.

edit: or make him amazing on the ground at close range but useless in the air?
Or an alternate costume, as with Robin, Villager or WFT. Considering she only appears in the arcade version, you could argue they're two separate people with the same title.

If Mach Rider actually was a girl, I'd agree with this, but he's not.
Retroactively turning him female wouldn't be very wise IMO. Plus, if the lady is her own character, that means we got two cool characters eligible from the Mach Rider universe, instead of one. Plus, that would be the forth time Nintendo has pulled the SHE'S ACTUALLY A WOMAN!!! thing.
Plus, I want beef.
I'm sure they could make him work if they wanted to. I just really want Toadette instead.
Though MR fights with a gun and the lady with a knife. Plus, I think she's too obscure to be an alt currently. (Plus, I don't really like alts that are completely different people.)

It seems weird that they would Maybe MAYBE a grass type to even out the roster if they keep type advantage that we had in brawl. If so I would expect special since he gets a mega in the new games.
Squirrel just seems like he wouldn't be coming back.
I felt this was kind of assumed.

Out of interest, why? I think if one will be in Toad is the only option (due to his more prominent role in Nintendo games and having his own game late this year/early next year for us second class citizens in Europe!).
I wouldn't have any issue with her, but would swing towards Toad.

The five character portraits side by side are clearly from the title screen, hence "Press any button." It probably scrolls through all of the characters you've unlocked thus far. The leaker waited for a couple unrevealed characters to show up before taking the pics.

...Why would you even need to bother about glitches? Just pick one of these video, replicate the UI 1:1 and that's it.
