Yeah, we noticed that. It might be one of many reasons why the game isn't coming out until Winter which I'm fine with. I'm glad that they are taking their time with the game development.
Yeah, I think it was pointed out a little while ago, but it's cool. Might imply that they hadn't 'completed' some characters enough to be shown to the public. They might have worked on the reveal trailer ones first, then completed more as time went on, and really, only showed them off once they were complete, which is why Yoshi was so late (ZSS, Sheik, and Char were shown in the direct because they had to explain that transformations were gone first). Might be why we haven't seen metaknight or wario yet, because they're having a lot of work done to them.
I remember this being brought up (and from a shot taken on a different stage, too). Guess it was all throughout the Direct.

Wasn't announced until today for MK8, I think they'll announce it at the E3 presentation or the Smash Invitational (if we're going to get online tournaments).
That'd be the perfect time to bring it up. "Streaming the Smash invitational, live, through Smash Bros Twitch integration. The newest feature of Super Smash bros for Wii U allows anyone to stream their online matches directly through twitch. We've also given our fans the ability to save and upload replays DIRECTly to youtube!"

Yeah, I'm also hoping for that. As basic as Brawl's replay system was, I still had a lot of fun with it and have more than 100 replays saved, so any improvements for that are more than welcome. Being able to share them is just icing on the cake.
Yeah, that's true. But still, I don't know but I felt there would have been at least a remark for tournaments in the direct. Something like "we will also have more online options we plan to talk about at a later date", but I don't recall Sakurai mentioning anything like that. I hope I'm wrong, but I'm not expecting it.

I don't know if the WiiU HW is strong enough to handle live streaming like that without a dedicated chip (like the PS4 has iirc). Although....technically the WiiU DOES have a dedicated chip that handles video conversion, it's just only used for the Gamepad so far.
I wonder if it would be possible for the dev team to disable the screen of the Gamepad during a hypothetical live stream and use that chip to handle video and audio for the stream instead...
Who knows. Sakurai has proven that he has a dev team of magical fairies from the future that can make a 4 player fighting game play at 60fps on a handheld. At this point, anything is honestly possible for wii U.

This is a combination of what I think is likely and what I'd personally be interested in seeing (aka Gematsu leak plus Mewtwo and Takamaru). 51 characters, the only Brawl cuts being Squirtle and Ivysaur, 13 newcomers or 14 counting Mewtwo.
If the Gematsu leak were taken out of the equation it'd probably be about the same but without Chorus Men and Shulk, maybe with Dixie Kong thrown in or something. I also used to advocate for Ridley quite a bit, but after the Direct I'm convinced he's not realistic anymore. I'd love to be surprised.

Perfect. My favorite so far. Takamaru can be swapped for a handful of others, but that's my favorite one yet.
Positions, though, I'd switch the positions of starfox with fire emblem, Samus/ZSS w/ Lucas/Ness, Olimar and shulk, Just so 'Fantasy' and 'Space' are on the same respective lines. Is there a website you used to make this, I'd like to have a crack at 'themed positioning'

Yeah if another old-school character were there in his place I wouldn't really mind, but of the options available Takamaru is probably my favorite.
Part of it is imagining his stage and music. Imagine a big Japanese castle at night with a really sleek Nazo no Murasame Jo remix playing and sakura petals raining down or something like that.

Nah but seriously I loved Awakening and I'd be okay with any newcomer from it. Chrom, Robin, Lucina, or some weird tag-team pairing of any of them. I just think Chrom is the most likely for a few reasons. He's also probably got my favorite design and his voice is really manly (ANYTHING CAN CHANGE!!).

Yeah I ended up switching stuff around quite a bit lol, I'll probably go back and change it next time it needs an update.
And nope, no site for it, all done in Paint.NET lol. I wish more people still did their rosters through image editors instead of using that generic roster creator that's gotten so popular. I swear, every time I see one of those they all just blend together.

All of the character possibilities in Fire Emblem and we are stuck with sword-wielding lords in every Smash game. This is as bad as the original Dissidia.

The only Fire Emblem characters "worthy" enough to be playable in Smash Bros. are the main characters, which just so happen to be sword-wielding lords most of the time. Intelligent Systems is to blame for that.

Zelda having a new Down-B makes up for it.
Project M Zelda was also programmed by people working with a 12 year old game they were incredibly familiar with competitively and with the benefit of hindsight.
I doubt Zelda will be top-tier in Smash 4 if her current "zoner who completely fails at zoning" style isn't tweaked. Her design just doesn't work as is now; Project M had to drastically increase both her zoning and her close-quarters capabilities to make her good. The new down-B doesn't seem like it will be changing much at the speed it went.
I was thinking about WarioWare reps and realised a possible issue with their inclusion. If they were to add a second rep how would they be rendered? I would imagine they would need to conform to Warios artstyle which isnt really the WarioWare look...the second rep wouldn't be accurate to the in game appearances. Wario works since hes also part of the Mario universe but its interesting to imagine how they would implement a 2nd rep graphically.
Ashley looks okay in 3D as an assist.
