Smash JoJo is soooooo good.

D-Pad for movement is terrible for Smash. It is a 2.5D game that actually makes use of analog controls. Digital controls just can't compare.

It really pissed me off you couldn't switch movement to the D-Pad on the Classic Controller. Analog sticks for 2D movement... eh.. no.

But the neutral/tilt/smash mechanic was pretty much designed completely around the analog stick, and characters move much more than just the 8 digital directions possible on a D-pad.

Seeing all the recent "what is summer" release dates, why is it coming out in "summer" in Japan still while we all get it a few weeks later? It would lead me to believe me the 3DS version is still on track to releasing on time, just not for everyone else.

Regarding MLG Smash,

aMSa :(

NOA is trying to build momentum in to winter.

They're idiots.

That's the sole problem.

Yeah I'm really interested in Pit since he was my main in Brawl. I've heard people say he is pretty good. Smashboards posted some impression from some guy and he feels Pit is top tier.

Did anyone here play as Pit?

I played as him, but I doubt I could give you the information you need.

His moves were mostly different, he was pretty fun to use, and felt faster than Brawl's Pit.

His hiyayayayayaya troll move is gone but replaced by a similar normal combo.

I just started playing Xenoblade Chronicles for my first time (found "used" at GameStop for $45. SCORE!) and while I was previously meh on Shulk being a likely newcomer, I really want him now, so here's hoping the Gematsu leak is all true....except the Lucas bit :(

(Also, first post!)

Just completed my Pac-Man CE DX+ giveaway. I gave away eight copies, but there are still many people there who want one. I know there are some Pac-Man fans in here -- if you guys are up to it, I'm sure there's some demand you can satisfy at the link. :-)

Aw man, I never owned this myself but played it a little on my friend's 360 when the original CE DX came out. I may have to get this officially now that you posted this!

Also the soundtrack is amazing!

I'm sure the release dates are appropriated from a business/sales perspective. Maybe it means it would sell more in October than September in the US but not necessarily in Japan.
And for the Wii U game it makes sense to have it come out November. I'm thinking the 21st to get it in before Black Friday

How much different is that version of Pac-Man Championship Edition versus the version that's included in Pac-Man & Galaga Dimensions on 3DS? 'Cause I have the latter, and I'm tempted to buy the former on Steam but I almost never use my computer for gaming so I don't know if it would even be worth it. Unless the extra content is absolutely amazing, I'm thinking I may just stick with Pac-Man & Galaga Dimensions.

I'm not familiar with the 3DS version, just the PC version and its general reputation. :-)

Ah, no problem. Well, if anyone knows, I'd appreciate it! I need to know if I should buy this special edition on Steam or just stick with what I've got, lol.

You're awesome for doing that giveaway, by the way! Pac-Man hype for all!! XD I feel like playing Pac-Man & Galaga Dimensions or Pac-Man Vs. now, lol. I just wish that Pac-Man Museum wasn't cancelled for 3DS and Wii U, otherwise I could be playing some Pac-Man Battle Royal at home, too. ._.

Welcome!

And Shulk is really a nice character, even if I like Melia better.

Yeah, I think anyone who's played Xenoblade would prefer one of the other, more interesting characters but are happy to have Xenoblade rep of some sort especially if it means a stage and music. Here's hoping!

The one in Dimensions is the original Championship Edition I believe. DX (the one we're talking about) is actually a completely different game believe it or not considering the title, and I think a much better one.

If you like your 3DS version in the slightest or Pac-Man in general, it is a MUST buy. Especially for 3.50$. One of the best games around.

Hm...I guess I'll consider it then. I just worry that the content won't be enough to actually get me to use my computer for gaming. =P

Anyway, sorry for the off-topicness! lol

Well it's 3.50$, plays great on a keyboard, and is just stupidly awesome, so I'd say go for it 100 times. It's always nice to have a game or two on your computer anyway, even if you don't use it primarily for gaming.

But obviously it's your call. I'm not sure if you can on Steam, but on the 360 and such you can download a demo to see if you like it.

Not sure what the other versions are like, but Pac-Man CE DX+ has the most incredibly satisfying effect when you eat a Power Pellet and start chewing through ghosts. The points appear in huge numbers that splash across the screen and feed into your score counter. ADDICTIVE!

Sounds good to me, I might give it a go.

Just curious, what would you all think if the Xenoblade series got a 2nd rep in the form of Elma. Like if they pulled a Roy and put her in to promote Xenoblade X. She could switch between dual sword style and dual gun style.

I have no idea who that is, but I guess I wouldn't be upset! More characters is cool. I wish they'd just release Xenoblade again though. I mean, barely anyone bought Xenoblade right? Is there another non-retro series that's that hard to play?

She is the first character you meet in Xenoblade X. She is in the demo that was on the treehouse live segments.

If it came down between her and and an Inkling, I'd rather have the Inkling otherwise I'd be all for it! Having Xenoblade rep seems very reminiscent of Melee's Fire Emblem rep anyway.

D-Pad for movement is terrible for Smash. It is a 2.5D game that actually makes use of analog controls. Digital controls just can't compare.

Even an analog d-pad would be bad.

Typically, I would tell you the d-pad absolutely craps on an analog stick for 2d movement, because it usually does.

But Smash requires such precise input that only an analog stick can pull off well. Some of the best use of a stick in 2d space imo.

It's not like PlayStation All-Stars, the demand for precision isn't nearly as high in that game.

I bring you good tidings and cheer newcomer.
YOU'RE DOOOOMED
