No doubt.

The argument of the people disagreeing with GameXplain?

The analysis videos generally seem accurate.
Nah, GameXplain's. Not all moves follow a light/medium/heavy pattern, and Palutena's do only by a huge stretch. Heavenly Light, for example, might do light damage, but it also has a huge AoE and requires her to channel to maintain the move. It's all over the place and isn't like anything else.

We've seen Mario gain the burning FLUDD move, and that's not a light/medium/heavy variation. It's just fundamentally different. I don't think we can deduce which moves are default and which are custom based on that heuristic.

They analysis videos and discussions videos are two very different things; their analysis are usually pretty spot-on, their discussions is where they let loose with more wild ideas and I don't think they ever present anything as "fact"

Their past few analysis videos have missed a ton of stuff though.

But I like Duster and I found Lucas kind of boring.

Ok, what if Boney instead?

He'd be a nice AT.

also you didn't answer my question so I'm gonna up the stakes a little bit.

What if Ike was cut...but we got a Meg+Fiona tag team?

For the record, I don't think Lucas is getting cut.

good

Ike is not a clone like Lucas, though :)

I think you're looking at this conversation the wrong way.

Boney would actually be a really cool choice for Mother 3 they were adding characters specifically to diversify the roster.

Though at that point I'd choose Flint because cowboys attacking with big wooden sticks gets an A+ in my book.

What would his final smash be? A nervous breakdown?

oh god why

ok I'll stop, just stop this madness

Kartiscles didn't say otherwise and I think most people know that, but some people treat their videos like 100% fact, unfortunately.

Anyways, I would like to know if you're affiliated with GameXplain and if so, how? I'm asking based on your post history and GameXplain related stuff.

They aren't Sakurai who would know every detail. People can miss stuff and that is fine.

Well things will always be missed, but what they do find is pretty impressive, like Zelda
They called a melon a grape and missed obvious things like pacmans arm placement. They've made a lot of mistakes in Smash analysis, because smash isn't their strong suit.

Maybe they've had some inaccuracies here and there, but given the sheer volume of observations they make in each of their videos, I'd say they get more right than wrong, and I don't know of any other video breakdowns that are as thorough and complete. I always learn something new when I watch their videos because they take the time to break things down bit by bit. I would've overlooked Pac-Man's entrance animation or the ability to angle the Pac-Dots and a number of other details if it weren't for them, since the trailers whiz by so fast. :-)

Yea, the melon grape thing was hilarious.

And yes, they have gotten things wrong and missed things, and not just limited to Smash, but who cares? People are wrong at times. There is no need to give a hard time about it.

Never played a Smash game before (i know...head sinks in shame..) but the E3 coverage got my attention so i want to start with the original Smash on Virtual Console to get a taste....so, question: can anyone confirm if it`s playable in 16:9 on my just bought Wii U?

Oh don't get me wrong, I really enjoy the videos and reviews (probably my favorite for Nintendo news), but Smash is probably one of their weaker series, kinda like Pokemon. Or maybe it's just I notice these things more because I'm more familiar with the series.

Not without being stretched; the game was 4:3 originally

I wish they were more interested in Bayonetta 2, but as it stands I'm not even sure they're aware it exists. :-\

Wait, why is everyone talking about cutting ROB? It's an important part of Nintendo history and a unique character. It'd be like talking about cutting Game&Watch.

Sakurai just sent me this photo. What does it mean?

1Vh12oX.jpg

It means they are still debating whether to cut him or not.

And to make Ness use starfall but it rain's Lucas heads instead especially since they are inevitably Earthbound by gravity.

It's a twee reference to Rosalina's height, move on with your life.

I don't think it is a reference to Ridley at all, but I still think he might be in. I do not ever care about him too. They can just retcon his size for Smash like Nintendo always does for Bowser, and some cases, DK.

That "leak" is easy to disprove just by waiting a week. If Falco is confirmed, then it's worth a look, if not, you wasted 1 minute and a couple brain cells to read it.

I always enjoy these sorts of things.

And totally not because Mewtwo is my most wanted returning vet

Honestly I'd scrap all the clones and re-imagine Ganondorf, Falco, Ike and Lucas from the ground up.

This was more of a pressing need for me in melee, but I still would like it to be done.

Oh I know. They just often leave out info/facts in their analysis that gaf figured out ages ago.

I can't think of tons examples of the top of my head but it's stuff like totally not noticing pacman's namco/fruit moves have a different summon animation; Often failing to mention that a certain special move has been shown. (and then discussing for 10 minutes if it might be gone/different)

In their non-smash analysis they often bring up tons of interesting or surprising points, but with Smash they seem to glance over stuff a lot more frequently in my eyes.
