In Japan, women-only cars were introduced to combat lewd conduct, particularly groping (chikan). Women-only policies vary from company to company: some are effective during rush hour, others throughout the day, while some limit women-only cars to rapid service trains, as they tend to be more crowded and have relatively longer distances between stops. But in general, the policy is effective only on weekdays, excluding holidays. Platforms and train doors are marked with signs indicating boarding areas for the cars, and the days and times when the cars are women-only. Though intended to be exclusive to women, most train operators in Japan allow male elementary school pupils, disabled persons, and their assistants to board women-only cars.

Groping in crowded commuter trains has been a problem in Japan: according to a survey conducted by Tokyo Metropolitan Police and East Japan Railway Company, two-thirds of female passengers in their 20s and 30s reported that they had been groped on trains, and the majority had been victimized frequently. Authorities have been unable to control groping, as trains are too crowded to identify the perpetrators, courts have traditionally been lenient, and victims are often too ashamed to come forward.[4] The police and railway companies responded with poster campaigns to raise awareness and with tougher sentences, but have been unable to reverse the trend.[5] In 2004, the Tokyo police reported a threefold increase in reported cases of groping on public transportation over eight years.[6]

A late-game Metroid Prime 2 reference? In Smash? After Argentina reached the World Cup finals? Is this Christmas?

Glad to have two incredible alts revealed in one update. The Light Suit colors still look good on the Other M model, and the star spangled Mario is hilarious. I'm excited with how many alt colors Smash 4 might have.
 
I don't even care that Samus' Light Suit is just a pallet swap. It just looks so dang pretty!!!! The different colors in this game are so much better than any of the previous ones!

I would be horrified, but I've heard worse stories in India of girls have their hands cut off for the bracelets and jewelry they're wearing (EDIT: Fuck it, I am still horrified)

Haven't heard of this on the trains, but because people stick their hands out of these types of windows due to how crowded trains are

Always go with a more expensive and exclusive train in India wen traveling far distances, they're not much in various western currencies, and you don't have to deal with this kind of stuff

But I digress from the horror stories

And I'd just like to point out, this was something I was told before, might be an exaggeration or tale meant to scare the shit out of me or warn me against sticking my hand out/telling me to be careful on trains

So, is anyone notable known to be missing EVO?
And I'm torn on Samus's suit after seeing OG light suit, although smash one is still pretty amazing
Might not even be the case anymore (hopefully), mom hadn't lived in India for some time when I was told this (still visited often though)

The Dark Suit alt looks kinda bad; it doesn't work at all with the smooth Other M design. But the Light Suit? Way better.
 
Light Suit has always been the best Metroid suit ever.

It's a crime that it hasn't been represented until yet. Brawl was too obsessed with the Dark Stuff.

Now give us Phazon Suit.

Pretty crazy that Brawl and possibly Smash 4 are using the Metroid Prime 2 suits as color swaps, when the Phazon Suit from Prime 1 is great and is already just a recolor on its own.

We haven't seen every recolour yet, and that's pretty much the only other one you could do for Samus besides the Vomit Suit. I still think it's reasonably likely to show up.

Nice!! Im loving all of these alts. It's satisfying yo finally see the light suit getting some kind of reference. Would have liked them to make it a full fledge costume but it still looks good.
 
I kind of joked that because of the Mii stage they'd have at least 12 colours per characters because that's the number of possible colours for Miis (and thus I assume possible status buffs on the stage) but it really could end up being true.
 
Little late but 'MURKA.

Freedom aside, it will be interesting to see alts and pallet swaps going forward. Personally, I would like alts that diva bit more for the human characters ya know? They tried this with Zelda link and Gabon, I would like more colors that change skin and hair color.

Which should be noted it is one of the worst ways to deal with it... because it is basicaly victim blaming.

It might work in a last case scenario WITH education about how wrong it is to sexual assault others ... but things like these are almost never followed by those things and open to interpretations that if a woman can't enter in the women-only car than it is fair game to sexual assault her since she CHOOSE to go to the "sexual assault-only" car
