I think I read somewhere that all newcomer videos would be viewable from the first start-up of the game.

If it's like G&W and Rob as the 'wacky' character, then they'll be revealed toward the end, imo. If i were a betting man, i'd say chrom, MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYBE shulk, but probably chrom. Chorus men will be revealed in the smash 3DS direct

Hell they seem like the type of character you wouldn't reveal until post launch; the type of character you wouldn't believe was actually in the game until you saw shaky cam footage from an early copy being played in Japan or some shit (see R.O.B)
Yeah. I donno. I'm not expecting any more new characters, but I'll still be disappointed if there aren't any.
On a slightly unrelated note, what if there is King K. Rool? It would explain the complete lack of new DK stages.

If that's the case, it makes sense that they're revealing another newcomer so soon. Gotta fit all the rest in before launch.
I'd be kinda disappointed we didn't get Dixie. We still haven't seen a Yoshi or Kirby stage though, I don't think that means we'll get Bandana Dee and the Stork as playable characters.
Also, apparently EVO doesn't have enough gamecubes for Smash. Oops!
True, true. I'm not sure on Dixie. When Diddy was revealed, I was sure she was out, because Sakurai mentioned the plan in Brawl was to have them be a tag team character, like a mix of the Ice Climbers and Zelda/Sheik. But after the Smash Direct, with Sakurai saying there are no transforming characters this time, I'm not so sure.
Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. It'd be better to tie same franchises together, like 9-volt w/ wario or Chrom W/ Ike (i was hoping he'd save ike for the chrom reveal). Dunno about 2 weirdos. Could work, though.

Would love a Dark Emperor Hardin. Or a Trident twirling Dorf. Too bad Axes are even lower then lances. Dweebs and their pointed sticks rule the world I guess.

as far as i understand it all the videos will be in the game, he made them instead of the subspace videos. everyone will have one. you honestly think every newcomer will be unlocked from the start?
You think they'd have learned since last year....there's also probably about 50mil Wii consoles with the ability to play GCN games out there, soo....use those?

I meant a Fire Emblem sword user. Unless he has pair-up attacks, I don't see how they can make him different enough from Marth or Ike. And that would suck.

Link wasn't announced in palu trailer, kirby wasn't announced in rosa trailer, samus wasn't announced in mac trailer. Charizard WAS announced for greninja trailer. It'd be cool if we get a veteran announce at the same time as a newcomer is all we're saying. I only think it really works if they're both from the same franchise, but sakurai can probably pull off a wario/chorus men (wario playing DS Rhythm Heaven, looks up, there they are, etc).

Ganon's probably our best chance for a lance user, but even then that's slim.
I wonder if the trailers will be 60FPS if they're available to be viewed on the game. I also wonder if they'll only be on the Wii U version or if the 3DS will have compressed ones, too.
Every newcomer revealed so far? Why not? We're at 10 newcomers, counting this next one. 8 if you don't count third parties. Brawl had 12 pre-release, 10 if you don't count newcomers. Assuming we get all of the Gematsu leak pre-release, it'd be the same amount of newcomers as Brawl had, all of which, not counting third parties, were unlocked from the start.
Wario Ware and Rhythm Tengoku series are related.

Are you sure that there's not some tiny thing about the Wii that makes it unplayable to these people? One time I saw a group of people playing smash wait an hour because the TV they had wasn't 20 years old.

Video stash =/= end of newcomers.
Definitely has a higher chance than, say, Shulk and Captain falcon, or Chrom and Metaknight (even though FE and MK were in subspace together).
Oh wow. I also hope 'monkey' is involved in their moveset.
If we get 3 chorus kids at once (like ice climber) it'd be a guarantee, to me anyway, that ice climbers are coming back. It'd be cool to tie them into his trailer, as well. Also, what do you think our chances are of any more veteran reveals before launch? I assume we'll get 1 more newcomer in august so that the last one is revealed in the smash 3DS direct early september (before 3DS launch in japan). Or we could get the remaining 2 in the smash 3DS direct and 1-2 veterans in august. I need my ice climbers.

Anyway. I would like a Mage from Fire Emblem but I doubt we will get one.(If we did it would be Tharja and we all know why even if I would want Nergal or Alvis) I would much prefer Chrom to be a Double Unit with Lucina to mirror that Pair Up mechanic but I will agree that Swords are overused at this point alongside people that use hands/feet.
I mean even Greninja uses Swords.

Then this soundtrack piece starts playing.

They kind have always have since they never get much in terms of promotional material so it wouldn't be surprising if unlocks didn't get a video trailer. Maybe that could even lead to the source of the leak, they got it from the proposed list of trailers vs list of secret characters. Would support the fact they've only really leaked characters and not much else.

The only character that really applies to are Jiggly, TLink, and Wolf in brawl, and even they got tiny cinematics. I don't know, it seems silly to aim to give every character a video, and then not do it just because some of them won't be seen before the game releases.
At most a veteran I'd say, but I wouldn't expect anything because Sakurai hasn't mentioned EVO at all, and he's had plenty of opportunity.

Dunno, I wonder if the Monday character reveal has anything to do with EVO at all or if it's just a coincidence. Hopefully we get Captain Falcon during EVO and a newcomer on Monday.

I know, I'm just saying the timing of the character reveal is literally a day after EVO ends. I wonder if the two are related even though they don't happen on the same days.

They obviously aren't. The video is ready, they could have livestreamed it during Evo instead of 24 hours later on its own. They aren't for a very specific reason.
